Luca glanced at his wife as they were walking back down the aisle. He couldn't deny she was beautiful, much more so than the girls he usually played with. They were pretty in a way that showed they tried. Between the caked on makeup and plastic surgery they always looked fake. However, the woman standing next to him was effortlessly beautiful.
Her makeup was done simply as not to take away from her natural features. From the side he could see her petite nose had bump on close to bridge where it was broken at one time or another. He wondered how a girl like that got her nose broken. It was a small nose but it complimented her. It allowed you to focus more on her eyes. Her eyes are this gorgeous blue gray that already had some lines around them when she smiled, so she had to have a happy childhood. When she smiled he noticed a little dimple forming in her cheek. Not too much, but enough that her face was given a youthful glow. Luca decided he liked it when she smiled.
Outside there was a car that was waiting to take them to their next destination. Luca went to open the backseat door for his wife to get in, when he was suddenly held back by someone grabbing his arm.
"Mr. Mazzanti, we have to get pictures before you can go to the reception," the photographer raised the camera in the air a little. Luca looked at the photographer's hand on his arm and then back at the photographer eyes. After looking at him for sometime the photographer realized his mistake and quickly removed his hand from Luca's arm.
"Please, Mr. Mazzanti, can we have you and bride go in front of the church so we can get a picture of you two in front of the stain glass. Luca complied with the photographer and since his hand held a firm grasp on his bride she had no choice but to comply as well.
The photographer kept calling out pose after pose and Luca was beginning to get annoyed with him. How many pictures does one person need? He could also feel the woman tense up everytime he went to touch her, following the photographer's instructions.
"Okay, can we have one with the parents of the bride and groom," the photographer asked not looking up from their camera. Both of the newly weds froze. Luca's mother wasn't here and he hated his father right now, he didn't want a picture with him. When no other family came forward Luca realized that he didn't see a man or a woman upfront to support the bride. She was walked down the aisle by her two brothers, but then Leon had already said his father wasn't there, but where is her mother?
The photographer seem to have noticed that he had made another mistake when he saw the pain in the bride's eyes, however, before he could fix it a man called out, "we will stand with the bride in place of her parents." When Luca looked around at who was speaking he realized it was one of the twins from earlier. Now Luca began to feel nervous as they moved closer to the couple. On the other hand, he noticed that the bride began to relax the closer the duo got to her, she must been important in their family.
After a few more photos, the photographer said they were finished at this location and he would meet them at the reception. The bride began to relax once they got in the backseat of the car, it seems she hated having her picture taken.
In reality, Luca wasn't nearly as mad as he thought he would be after seeing his bride. He thought for sure he was going to hate her, but she had a youthful innocence about her that made him want to protect her. That made him chuckle, no one is innocent when it comes to a life like they had. For some reason, though, it appeared as though she never had anything to do with this life. Luca thought this woman was very curious and he wanted to learn more about her. It also helped that she was very beautiful. Luca couldn't help but be attracted to her. He felt that, depending on her personality, being married wouldn't be all that bad. She seemed like someone he could easily walk on, which meant he would still be able to play with whatever women he wanted and he liked that idea even better.
It didn't take long for them to arrive at their second destination. The Valentina's were known for owning a series of 5 star hotels so it would only make sense that they would have the reception in one of their ballrooms. When they stepped out of the car, the photographer ushered them to the location where he thought he could get the best pictures. Again the bride tensed up with every flash. About an hour had gone by with the photographer changing locations three or so times. They had photos in the front of the hotel, in the lounge, and in the garden of the hotel. The photographer was scrolling through the pictures when he said, "okay, I think that will be all of those photos. Just wait for the DJ to call you guys in and I'll get some candids of you and your guests throughout the night.
They moved to the closed ballroom doors, waiting for the DJ to call their names, when Luca realized his bride has not said anything to him other than "I do". He reached out his hand for her to shake and said, "I don't think we have been formally introduced, I'm Luca."
The bride seemed shocked by the gentleness in the way he spoke. There was no way for her to hide her feelings, one could easily read her eyes and know exactly what she was thinking. Luca decided he liked her even more because of that. It meant she would never be able to lie to him without him knowing and the one thing he couldn't stand was liars.
It was true, she was shocked at how gentle he spoke. She had assumed, after hearing stories about the things he has done, he would have the same harsh tone as his father. That is one reason she didn't want to talk to him, she couldn't stand when someone had a temper for no reason. Realizing she didn't say anything back she quickly shook his hand and responded, "Alessandra."
Alessandra. Alessandra, Luca liked that name. He felt it was fitting for her. It sounded delicate like she looked. He smiled at his determination to which Alessandra smiled back at him before diverting her eyes back to the door. Why was she so nervous? He opened his mouth to ask her, but she beat him to it.
"I apologize if I seem tense or nervous," she stated still looking at the door. "I do not like crowds of people, or my picture being taken, or weddings in general." Luca chuckled at her statement because he too hated all those things but here they are. Before he could agree with her, he heard the DJ hyping the crowd up before announcing the couple into the room.
Luca grabbed Alessandra's hand and gave her a slight nod. He couldn't help the fact that he wanted to protect her. It was something in her eyes, they can bore into your soul without her even looking directly at you. It was like magic.
"Everyone..." the DJ began, "put your hands together and welcome for the first time as husband and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Mazzanti!" With that the double doors of the ballroom opened up and the couple were faced with 500 people clapping a cheering them on.
