After the plan had landed, Luca ordered the men to grab their luggage and leave the plane first. The pilot followed shortly afterwards to do maintenance checks before moving the plane into the hanger until it was time to fly home. This left Alessandra and Luca alone with the stewardess.
"Wait here, I'm going to change before we go anywhere. You took off your dress so it would just look weird if I was in a tux." Luca walked to one of the rooms in the back of the plane. When he got there the stewardess was cleaning up the plane and refilling some snacks that became empty during the flight.
"Leave," Luca ordered when he entered the room. He was still unhappy with the stunt she had pulled earlier. The stewardess left with her head down and hands clasp behind her back. However, when she saw Alessandra patiently waiting on the couch, her anger from earlier reappear. She decided that if she couldn't show Alessandra who was more important in Luca's life, she would show Luca what he is turning down.
She popped open the top buttons of her blouse so that her cleavage showed. The stewardess pulled her hair out of the tight bun and messed it up a little so she had the bed head style and then she hiked up her skirt to the edge of her thigh high pantyhose. She was going to make Luca regret ever turning her down.
She cracked open the door to make sure that he wasn't looking before slipping in behind him. His broad muscular back faced her. His olive skin was marked by a tattoo that started on his shoulder blade and went down his bicep. It was incredibly detailed outline and shading of roses and where the roses met the shoulder blade there was a dove. However, the whole piece was shaded so that it looked dark and macabre.
The stewardess ran her hands down Luca's back before lacing her fingers around his waist feeling the outline of abs. She placed little kisses along his shoulders like she has done so many times before, but this time Luca turned around and pushed her off of him. He shoved her hard enough that she fell into the table that was behind her causing everything that was on it to fall to the floor.
Alessandra heard the commotion from back the hall but she already knew what was happening. She saw the way the stewardess looked at her. It wasn't surprising that she would try something like this. Alessandra figured she would give the girl what she wanted and walked back to the room where Luca was getting changed.
She stood in the open doorway, leaning against the doorframe. Luca looked more angry than Alessandra had seen him so far. He obviously didn't like it when someone didn't listen to an order. He was hissing something at her and the girl looked shocked that her plan didn't work.
When the stewardess saw Alessandra in the doorway, she tried to hide her startled look and began flirting with Luca again. She barely got one word out before Luca realized her game and pulled himself away from her. When he looked up he saw Alessandra's amused look at the situation. Luca quickly grabbed his shirt and his bag before heading towards Alessandra.
Luca placed one arm on Alessandra's shoulders before guiding her to the front of the plane. The stewardess followed them in fear of what might happen since she disobeyed an order. She hid behind the nearest wall and listened while he told Alessandra to go ahead to the car. Once she was gone he held his phone up to his ear.
"Hey Mikey, we've arrived, make sure I have a different stewardess for the flight home. I never want to have this one on the same plane as me or my wife ever again." there was silence as the other person responded. "It doesn't matter what she's done, I don't want her on my plane. Give her to my father if you have to." Luca ended the call. His last sentence made her go white. She got lucky to have Luca, she heard stories of the girls who had his father. Many of them quit because he was so demanding and mean.
....
Luca joined Alessandra in the car. This time it was a sleek red Ferrari with a tan leather interior. Behind them two blacked out SUVs appeared to escort them to their hotel. It was only fitting that Alessandra's uncles would put them up in one of their hotels. That way they could make sure she was safe even halfway across the world.
"I took care of the stewardess, she won't bother us again." Luca said nonchalantly as he began driving out of the airport.
"She really didn't bother me, but man did she have it bad for you." Alessandra giggled.
"What's so amusing about that, do you think I'm not good looking?" Luca questioned, irritated by her giggles.
"No, no, no, not at all, a blind person could see your attractive." Alessandra sighed, "I'm just comfortable in my own skin so things like that don't really bother me. Besides I knew nothing was going to happen because we talked about it, and unless you're a liar, you weren't going to touch her." Alessandra waved her hand at the topic. She relaxed back in the seat and stared out over the horizon.
"By the way, why didn't you tell me we were going to Tuscany, we could have stayed in my family's villa."
"My father thought it would be best to keep it a secret."
"Do you always follow what your father says?"
Luca gritted his teeth at the question. It hasn't been 24 hours and yet she was already questioning him and his father's authority.
"Yes. He is the boss after all, are you telling me you don't follow your uncles' orders?"
"Honestly, I never had much to do with crime family stuff. I worked in the restaurant and that's all. I knew my position in the family and they would sometime ask my input but that was the extent of my interest in it. But to answer your question, no I don't, not that they order me around. I'm essentially allowed to do as I please." Alessandra stated it matter-of-factly, like anything different would have been out of place within her family.
"Yet here you are." Luca said irritated.
"I mainly ask because, how old are you? You look probably late 20s early 30s, I'm sure your father will want to retire soon, if you never push the boundaries of what he gave you, how do you know you're capable." Alessandra took a breath before continuing, "do you know why I had to do this?"
Luca didn't answer.
"My Uncle Frankie's wife. She isn't my aunt, she is his second wife and it only a few years older than Frankie's son. Needless to say we can't stand her. She also has a spending habit. Even though my uncle is rich he doesn't believe in spending his money on things you don't need. so when she bought her 500th pair of shoes he cut her off. It didn't take long for her to rack up debt, debt that if she would have told my uncle about he would have taken care of. But she didn't, she went to your father where he saw the opportunity to link himself to my family for good and he had her sign the contract. She didn't bother to read the fine print and then took the money and spent it on other things instead of getting out of debt. By the time my uncle found out it was too late and the time on the loan was up. She didn't care when she found out but my uncle won't divorce her because then she gets half of everything and I had no choice but to go through with it." Luca listen patiently to the story. However something didn't add up, he was there when that contract was signed, that was almost ten years ago, Alessandra would have been only 10 or 11 years old when her aunt signed it, why would his father want her then. As if Alessandra was reading his mind she continued to explain .
"I am the only direct female relative to my uncle. The others are either by marriage or adoption or they hold no significance in the family business. Your father was smart. He asked for that specifically, even more so, he asked for the woman who would gain the most upon Frankie's death, which is me. He is my uncle, but he is also my godfather and had a great part in raising me. He only felt it was fair he split the business between Frankie Jr. and myself. Your father made the loan expiration my 18th birthday, however, when my family found out about they fought it until the exhausted every option. Your next question is, how can Angela sign a contract for a child that is not hers. Truthfully Frankie and Angela were put as my guardians when my mother's health started to deteriorate, my father was overseas with no way of contacting him and my mother didn't want to risk us getting split up so she signed them as our guardians." Alessandra looked down in her lap. She fidgeting with the simple gold band on her right hand. From the tone in her voice Luca could tell she didn't like to talk about the situation or her mother's condition, but he was curious. Curious as to what she had that made her give up her children, why wasn't she at the wedding? Alessandra said Tuesdays are for her so she is still alive, right? His curiosity got the best of him.
"May I ask, your mother, what's wrong with her?" There was a long pause.
"Cancer. She found out when I was 10. My father was deployed overseas in the army and you can't always reach him. She had gone into remission when I was 17 but last year it spread into leukemia. The stress from everything put her into hospice. My father tried to get leave to come home and finally retire but it was denied until he finishes the tour he is on. I visit her every Tuesday and call her just about every day." Alessandra began to tear up at the mention of her mother. Luca couldn't help but feel sorry for her.
"I'm sorry she has to go through that. I lost my mother when I was young so I can only imagine the pain you are feeling." For the rest of the ride the couple was completely silent. Alessandra looked at her phone a few times and responded to some texts wondering if they made it to their destination yet, but she didn't feel like talking to anyone.
"How did you lose your mom?" Alessandra whispered. Luca froze. His got sweaty and began to shake. He could feel as the color drained from his face. Alessandra called out to him but he didn't answer.
"Luca! Luca, please slow down your scaring me" Alessandra whimpered. Something about the fear in her voice made him snap out of his daze. He checked the speedometer, 190 kmh. The SUVs that were escorting them were no where to be seen.
"Are you okay?" Alessandra placed her hand on Luca's arm. Her eyes bore into him wanting to know what his secrets are.
"I'm fine, we are almost to the hotel." he brushed her off. He was never going to tell her that story. She stared at him, she wanted to know what made him act like that, but he obviously didn't want to share it.
