Chapter 38 - Asking for talents once again

Frigs slowly opened his eyes, immediately noticing the faces of the hobbits and Bell, also the rock ceiling of the room. The brown-haired and white-bearded man chuckled, "He's fine, no need to worry!"

Bell wiped the tears out of her eyes, "Thank you, sir… if not for you, we would have to bury him"

The hobbit chuckled once again, "My pleasure,"

He looked at Frigs and then toward Bell, both of them staring at each other, "It seems that you two need some time alone,"

He got himself up and turned around, "Come on boys! Let's leave them alone!"

Once they had left, Frigs got himself to a sitting position, still staring at the girl, smiling. Bell suddenly leapt forward, hugging him. They both blushed while doing that, "I was so afraid that you would die!"

Frigs jokingly said, "I wouldn't die after defeating the giant toad to prove my worth to a girl I like,"

She chuckled, and they were in silence for a few seconds before the situation got too awkward and she released her grip on him. She then asked, "How are you feeling?"

Frigs didn't respond for a few seconds. He then noticed the flow of mana inside his body became better than before, "I felt… good, my mana has increased,"

She raised one of her brows, "Wait, what are your magic element?"

Frigs answered, "Steel, why?"

She let out a long, "Ooooooh!"

Before following it with, "That's why! The ore probably gave you some enlightenment that you broke through to the next tier!"

It clicked on Frigs and he smiled, "That's a good thing! Can't wait to test it out!"

She smiled and nodded, but Frigs said to her, "Well, I can test it later, why don't we finish our date? It surely is more important to me!"

(Lol, simp)

The left the mine and ended up having potato soup as dinner inside the hobbit hotel.

The next morning, Frigs woke up and smiled as he did some stretching and yawning, "Wow! Yesterday was such a good date!"

Louis interrupted him, "Yea, I saw it with my own two eyes. It's kind of cringe, but whatever. By the way, I heard you reached the fifth tier, wasn't it?"

Frigs turned toward his assistant, which was on his bed, still reading a book, "True! Can't wait to test it, Imma do it now!"

He opened the cap of the small glass bottle before extending his arm toward the floor. He felt mana flowing toward his finger, then exiting, the dust of steel began flying in the air.

He closed his eyes, trying to focus as it was his first time testing it. Slowly but surely, controlling his mana, he felt the dust of steel was no more and it was just one big thing that was connected to his mana.

He opened his eyes and saw the thing he just made, Maschinengewehr 42, shortened to MG 42. Right in front of his eyes, with the complete mechanism and all.

Frigs smiled, excitingly, he shouted, "This is it! This is the thing I have been wanting to create!"

Louis dropped his book and sat on the edge of his bed, the thing that caught his attention, "This thing… I have to admit, it looks so cool and complicated at the same time. I'm surprised you were actually able to make it!"

Frigs nodded, but next came the next hard question, "So, how to operate this thing?"

Frigs was speechless. He grabbed the gun and placed it on his bed, "… We need to make bullets, but we need to find gunpowder..."

Louis excitingly smiled, "You mean the one that the dwarf uses in their thunder stick?"

Frigs raised one of his brows, "Maybe we are talking about the same thing…"

He sighed, frustrated, "Anyway, it would be hard to produce the bullet and since this gun will fire at an extreme rate, it would be a waste of time"

Louis sighed, "Well then, why not do it with magic?"

Frigs smiled, "That might work, but there's so much thing to do. First, it seems that I need to master the fire element just for the bullet,"

Louis jokingly praised him, "Well, I won't doubt your talent cause you actually did so well in mastering the steel element,"

Frigs smiled before he realized, "Dude, I think you forgot about what happened in the past, the one at the end year exam. Jiq said that I have no talent…"

Louis covered his mouth, "Oops!"

Frigs clenched his fist, but Louis just said to him, "When the summer holiday ends, just go to the principal office and ask for another one of his potions!"

Frigs smiled and calmed down.

He and his assistant spent their time in the hobbit village by going on a date, drinking with the knights, helping out the citizens. But the holiday was coming to an end, and eventually, the two of them left the village early.

They soon found themselves in the principal's office, Jiq's office, as the man himself was creating another potion inside a cauldron. Once he was done, he got a small spoon full of the potion itself and gave it to Frigs.

Frigs, not wasting any time, gulped the drink and he soon felt his eyes getting heavier and heavier and eventually closing his eyes.

When he opened his eyes, he found himself in the same scene, the forest surrounding him with an open path right in front of his eyes. The end of it was white. He walked toward the end of the path and once again, the same scenery greeted him.

White-bearded and haired old man with a long white goatee sitting on a fallen log with the waterfall in front of him. He turned around with a smile on his face, "Come here, kid!"

Frigs did so happily and sat beside him. The man smiled as he rubbed his goatee, "This is the second time that we met and I shall grant you another wish. But after the third meeting, I wouldn't give anymore to you,"

Frigs nodded, "That's enough"

The old man smiled, still rubbing his goatee, "Before we begin, I just want to tell you that… you should use this chance wisely. I felt a great sense of danger in your future,"
