Ari and I race on top of the roof tops.
"Miss Carmin, will other people notice?" I ask.
"You maybe." She calls out to me.
All three of them are ahead of me, speed wise.
"You're pretty good for someone who's never done this before Owen." Maka praises me.
"Well, while I was on the streets for so long, I walked and ran a lot... So, my stamina is pretty good." I explained.
"Hmmm, that's good. You're going to need it." Miss Carmin butts into our conversation.
If Miss Carmin says it that, then it sounds like my training is going to be brutal...
"Owen-san! I'm winning so far!" Ari calls out to me.
"Why you... Just you wait Ari!" I pick up my pace and catch up a little.
"Na na na na boo boo!" Ari taunts me.
We keep on going. I think I'm getting a little faster.
"Ari, Maka, are we reaching the end of the shopping plaza?" Miss Carmin asks.
"Sensei, we've reached the end!" Maka answers.
We stop.
"What now?" I ask.
"We should jump down and start walking sensei." Ari suggests.
Ari and Maka jump down onto the road.
Miss Carmin grabs my hand and jumps down.
"Um... I could've used the fire escape you know." I jester my hand to the fire escape ladder.
"We don't have time Owen. The bus is here." Miss Carmin said.
The bus pulls into the bus stop.
We all get in.
Miss Carmin handles our payments.
"Where to?" The bus driver asks.
"Any where far from here. Preferably a town that has a cheap place to rent." Miss Carmin suggests.
"Ok then. Thank you for getting on the bus." The bus driver said. "Business has been slow these days."
"No problem."
The bus pulls away from the bus stop and drives away.
