Chapter 15 - Chapter 15: Spilt Blood

The other buildings for the most part looked the same on the inside. But this building was much different. The inside was one giant room, split into the same colors as the cafeteria, except now there was a large raised circle platform in the middle with stairs to each section.

We headed over to the black section, while each of the red, blue and green sections already had their members standing there. Likewise to us, they had training outfits in the same design as ours, the only difference was it matched their color.

The woman with the metal greaves was standing on the center platform, along with six people that had yet to choose a team to join.

"Since our Sleeping Beauty has finally joined us it seems, I'll introduce myself one more time. I am captain Troya, and you are all my subordinates," declared loudly. "Now these ones behind me have yet to pick a team. So to get this all sorted out. I want one member from each team to come up here to represent their color in a battle."

Not even a second later than she had finished saying that, a quest popped up.

QUEST- win battle royal

"Guys, I wanna fight for us," I said without missing a beat.

"Are you sure? You haven't had any training yet," Daron said.

"Oh he'll be fine I'm sure," Icarus said. "Let him do it, it'll be a good way to see what he can do.

"Caesar, don't get hurt please," Kyla said while grabbing my arm.

"I'm sure he isn't the one we need to worry about," Xynthia said while grabbing her off of me.

After that short but strange exchange, I walked over to and up the stairs. It seemed we made our choice quite a bit faster than any other team, and they all seemed shocked that I was the one chosen.

"Kid you sure about this? You know I've already given everyone else hell to get used to using their abilities, and you probably have never used that weapon before, you can change your mind," Troya said, she sounded actually concerned about me.

"Don't worry, I don't plan on getting tossed around," I said confidently.

"No one ever does," she sighed. "All righty you six head down the stairs he just came up and watch from wherever you want."

As they left, the fighter from the other teams came up their stairs. A blond boy for the green team, a red headed girl for the blue, and a bald boy for the red.

"I'm gonna make this nice and simple for you all. The rules are as follows, if you get knocked unconscious, off of the platform, and vocally give up. You're out. We aren't aiming to kill eachother but instead show off your teams training so those slackers can pick a team and we can get the real stuff started. Understood?" Troya said while scanning us four. "No questions? Good, now begin!"

The bald man didn't hesitate and charged at the blond boy. The red head likewise moved to the other side of him.

'They pincer attacked him that fast, seems like they really do have some training. Try not to get hurt too much now,' Gil said.

The blond boy didn't wait to see what they were planning and jumped straight up, ten feet into the air. The gust of wind from his leap was strong and threatened to throw us off balance.

Using this as my opportunity, I transformed my hands and feet into the flaming claws and pounced towards the bald man since he was the closest to me.

Without turning around, he swung his war hammer, that I had yet to notice till now, at me. I jumped to the side and blew flames out of my mouth to counter attack. Upon being hit by them, he dropped his hammer and rolled around to try to put the flames out. This was my golden chance. Swinging my right arm towards him and then pulling back, the chain whip that was wrapped around my arm was sent towards him, but I missed.

'You couldn't have picked a weapon that was easier to use, could you have? Just have to be difficult at all times," Gil complained.

The red head took advantage of the situation and delivered a sliding kick that sent the bald man off of the platform, while the blond guy landed behind me.

"You're a tricky one aren't a boy?" The blond guy said. "Too bad that's all you are." He punched his arm forward and a gust of wind extinguished the flames on my hands and feet and knocked me to the ground.

The red head dodged the wind and threw the war hammer at him. He didn't notice and got hit in the gut, knocking him out.

"So now it's just you and me beast boy, now behave and play dead," she said while sparks danced along her arms.

'I recommend running, like now!' Gil yelled.

I tried, but couldn't move in time, as I felt my entire body go numb, and fell to the floor, I saw her holding the other end of my whip, and then I blacked out.
