I woke up to a guild message notification while still cuddling Satoshi and Jin. The message states 'URGENT- Report to the guildhall at once.' I woke up Satoshi and Jin and told them both what was going on. Satoshi said that he'd watch the house in our absence and Jin and I kissed him and teleported to the guild hall. Once there we sought out the captain to see what the urgency was. The captain was waiting in the main hall with the rest of the members. 'As you can see there are fewer members with us. There is a traitor among us who has been systematically killing off your comrades. I'm handing off my investigation of this matter to Ryuu and Jin. They will search out this traitor and eliminate them.'
As we left the main hall our captain stopped us to explain why he gave this task to us. Since we were the last members to join he was certain that we had nothing to do with this and after seeing our power he knew that if we wanted to we could wipe out the whole guild in one attack. I then asked for whatever leads he already found to give us a starting point. He said that the members were killed while we were doing that last dungeon. So I could assume that the members who were in the dungeon with us that day weren't suspects but in my experience, the suspect always hides in the last place you would think to look. If it was one of our teammates they probably think they are safe and that we would into the remaining members.
Jin and I teleported back home to discuss what direction we will take without the other guild members trying to eavesdrop. Satoshi welcomed us home with hugs and kisses. We changed out of our gear and sat down on the couch. Satoshi was preparing dinner for all of us while Jin and I discussed our plans. In my mind, everybody was a suspect so we couldn't afford to overlook any information. Jin was suspicious of the captain himself. I asked him why he was suspicious of him? He says why would he choose the most powerful members of the guild to investigate the crime. He had a point but I still chalked it up to us being the newest members.
"Dinner's ready" as Satoshi brings us each a plate and sits down next to us. We explain to him what's going on and the position that we are in. He suggests that the best and most efficient way to gather information from the members is to train with each of them one on one. By doing this they may be more open to talking and we would be able to gauge their guilt or innocence better. It wasn't a bad idea at all. A little time-consuming maybe but it's better to be thorough. I suggest we start with the members that have been with the guild the longest. Then we will start in the morning and make sure to train someplace secluded just so we know we are each alone. After we had our plan figured out we started to relax and enjoy our evening together.
The next morning Jin and I woke up and put our plan into motion. We teleported to the guild and went through the roster. We went up to the first of many members and said that we needed to do some training with them. They agreed and we each teleported to our separate locations. Once we were there we started our training and engaged in conversation. I asked your typical investigation questions and once I was satisfied with the answers I was given we ended the training and went back to the guild. We both continued this process until we went through the entire roster.
Once we were home for the night I went to draw a bath and to my surprise, the bathtub was bigger than before. I walk back into the living room and ask Satoshi if he bought it. He said he did with a smile on his face. He said the other one wasn't big enough for all three of us and I agreed with him. In that case, shall we all go take a relaxing bath before dinner then? The tub that he bought was like a jacuzzi tub so it was pretty relaxing for all three of us. After a while, we all got out and started preparing dinner together. I worked on the main course while Jin and Satoshi worked on the dessert. Afterward, we all sat down to enjoy the evening before deciding it was time for bed.
The next day Jin and I got up and discussed our findings on the investigation. We compared everything from the body language of each member we were with down to their answers to our questions. We managed to narrow the suspect list down to five possible members who were capable and had the time. Due to the time of death, some members could be excluded because we were either with them or they were vouched for by an external source which we also checked was credible. After talking we got ready and teleported to the guildhall to deliver our findings to the captain. When we got there we were told another member had been murdered and to our surprise, it was one of the people we suspected. We rushed to find the captain and see if he had any more information that could help us. We entered the main hall and were welcomed by the members with drawn weapons.
What's the meaning of this I ask the captain. He replied that he trusted us and couldn't believe we were behind the murders. Not wanting to hear reason he ordered the members to attack. Jin and I ran and teleported to our secret training area to try and make sense of what just transpired.
