Most dungeons have small enemy groups scattered around each floor that you had to clear before you could advance higher or lower in the dungeon. When we got to what looked like the final room we saw a pedestal in the center of the room with the relic sitting on it. The first thought in my mind was that it was a trap. There was no way this quest could be this easy. I told Jin to wait back as I went and grabbed the relic myself. If my hunch was correct the boss would show up as soon as I grabbed it.
Sure enough, that's exactly what happened. It was a demon guarding an angelic object which I found to be ironic. This boss had to know that if he touched it he would vanish into nothing. I take up my scythe and ready my attack when the demon manifests his black wings. Stopping in my tracks I looked at Jin and told him to take cover. He knew what I was going to do and he knew how dangerous it was to be around me. I manifest my demon wings and my dark energy starts radiating around my body. I raise my scythe about to swing and the demon rushes at me, hitting me hard enough to send me into the wall. I hurry to get up and he's in my face about to hit me again. I block his hits with my scythe but he has me cornered. I thought to myself that if I don't figure out something he's going to win.
The next thing I see is Jin rushing to the angelic relic. He grabs the relic and a bright light blinds us all. As he's holding it, the relic starts to absorb into his body. I thought what the fuck is happening. I manage to shake off the demon and rush to his side. The light started to dim a bit and to my surprise he was okay. He gets up, places his hand on my shoulder, and tells me he's got this fight. I told him he was no match for the demon's speed and strength but he reassured me that he was now. He starts walking toward the demon and all of a sudden a pair of angel wings manifest on his back. Wait am I seeing this right? Did he just unlock another hidden ability in the game as I did with my demon form? Not knowing what the extent of his new powers was I stayed back and let him handle it.
The next thing I see him do is to pull out his daggers which were now glowing with light and rush the demon. In just a few quick attacks the demon is sent flying past where I'm standing. Bleeding profusely the demon gets back on his feet and rushes back at Jin. They start moving around so fast all I'm able to see are balls of light and dark bouncing off of each other. Not knowing who is winning I grab a teleport stone from my bag as a precaution just in case. After about ten minutes the demon is sent crashing into the floor dead. Jin walks past his corpse and comes over to hug me. I told you I had this fight babe. Relieved that he was still alive I said let's head home then.
When we arrived at the house I had so many questions for him on what happened. He told me that the relic said that I had been chosen to inherit a divine power. Not knowing what that meant but seeing you in trouble I agreed and it started absorbing into my body. Next thing I knew I had all this power that I didn't have before. Now we both had these special abilities that mysteriously given to us for one reason or another. I told him that I was afraid that his new abilities could cancel out my own but he said we will just have to train and learn to use them together instead of separate. I agreed to his reasoning and said that we could start training tomorrow. We still had two days before the guild quest and it would be good if we could work together and handle this ability around other people. When we were done discussing what our plan was we both got changed and headed to bed. I had on my casual clothes but Jin decided not to wear anything. I asked if he was going to get cold and he said not if he was laying next to me and started tugging at my clothes. That was his way of hinting to me that he doesn't want me wearing anything to bed with him. I obliged and stripped my clothes off and we both got into bed.
