There, in front of them was an entry way into a mesmerizing area. It had a rectangular area made out of hard shiny wood in the middle, it also had a net? what an odd thing..
They all had their own thoughts run through their minds as they stared at what was in front of them, but they all had shared one thought without knowing.
'𝙒𝙝𝙚𝙣 𝙬𝙞𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣?'
Will they finally be able to face the first challenge?
Or will they fail immediately as they try?
Perhaps things may not turn out the way they expect them to be..
Find out the answers to these questions in this chapter of...
"Face Your Mistakes"
___________________________
As the group stood in thought, they were soon snapped out of their thoughts when they heard a loud noise that sounded similar to a grandfather clock bell.
As each of them, Solon, Delyth, Sylvie and Vaan looked around trying to find where the noise came from, they found 6 men coming towards them.
Before any of them could react, their vision had blacked out without a second to process who those men were.
-----
Vaan's P.O.V
I slowly opened my eyes as I looked at my surroundings. I seemed to be floating?
Wait, no. Am I in a glass box, cage thing of some sort?
I looked to my right to see Solon in the exact same situation as me, he seemed to have just woken up too.
I turned my head in front of me only to see Delyth and Sylvie on the floor.
They seemed to have not woken up yet.
Wait..
Something's weird.
-----
Solon's P.O.V
There in front of me was Delyth and Sylvie on one side of a-
Volleyball court? The hell-
And on the other side of the net were the same guys that we saw before our vision went black.
Are those NPCs? Holy sh*t.
Is this supposed to be he first challenge? What the hell? Did they mess something up or something? Vaan and I are the ones that can play volleyball.
I mean I don't know if they know how to play it too, but freaking hell, man.
6 male NPCs vs. Delyth and Sylvie?
How the hell do they cover all positions at once, and why the hell am I stuck in a glass cage with Mr. Nine lives next to me?
My thoughts were cut off when I saw Sylvie slowly wake up.
-----
Sylvie's P.O.V
As my vision slowly cleared, i looked up and I was immediately met with a net? Wait, is this a football net?
As I looked to the side I saw that Delyth was slowly waking up-
Why the hell am I stuck with this girl? And where the hell are the guys?
As I looked behind me I saw Vaan and Solon each in what seemed to be a clear glass cage of some sort, they were both also looking back at me with a look or concern.
They also now seem to be looking behind me now that I've faced them.
I turned back around towards the net and saw that there were six men on the other side.
My thoughts were soon cut off when I heard Delyth groan.
-----
Delyth's P.O.V
I let out a groan as I stretched. "Five more minutes mom~."
As my hands touched what I thought was my bed I soon realized that I was in fact not in my room, and instead I was now touching cold wood?
I slowly got up only to be met with a pair of hazel brown eyes.
Sylvie? oh of course she's the first thing I see when I open my God damn eyes.
As I looked around I realized where we were.
What the hell are we doing in a basketball court- with no basketball hoops?
"Hey! Are you guys okay down there!" I heard a familiar voice shout out.
As my eyes trailed trying to find the source I found Vaan and Solon trapped in weird boxes?
-----
"Yeah, but I'm trying to figure out why we're in a place with a football net though." Sylvie said as she scrunched her eyebrows.
Delyth looked at her like she was the stupidest person that she's seen. "Are you serious? We're clearly in a basketball court, just with no hoops." Delyth said as she flipped her hair. "Personally, I think that's the catch."
Both Vaan and Solon both exchanged glances. For once they agreed with each other in their heads.
They both looked at the girls in disappointment. 'Are they for real right now? Is.. is this actually happening? Are they really that uncultured? How the hell do they not know this is a Vollyball court?' Their thoughts were flying across the place at the situation in front of them.
Before the boys could explain, a loud voice started talking, it almost seemed like it was a voice from a speaker, but it was surrounding them.
"𝙲𝚘𝚗𝚐𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚞𝚕𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗𝚜! 𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚟𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚒𝚜𝚑𝚎𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎! 𝙽𝚘𝚠 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚋𝚘𝚞𝚝 𝚝𝚘 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚜𝚎𝚌𝚘𝚗𝚍! 𝚈𝚎𝚜, 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎 𝚠𝚊𝚜 𝚐𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚏𝚒𝚛𝚜𝚝 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚌𝚎! 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚠𝚎𝚛𝚎 𝚊𝚋𝚕𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚞𝚜𝚎 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚊𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚒𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚏𝚒𝚗𝚍 𝚢𝚘𝚞𝚛 𝚠𝚊𝚢 𝚑𝚎𝚛𝚎! 𝙽𝚘𝚠 𝚝𝚑𝚒𝚜 𝚌𝚑𝚊𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚎 𝚒𝚜 𝚍𝚒𝚏𝚏𝚎𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚝 𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚑𝚊𝚗𝚍."
The voice explained as it giggled at its own words.
Solon looked absolutely mortified at this situation. It seems as if he had the faintest clue of how this was going to end up.
"𝚈𝚘𝚞'𝚛𝚎 𝚐𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚟𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚢𝚋𝚊𝚕𝚕! 𝚈𝚎𝚜, 𝚢𝚎𝚜, 𝙳𝚎𝚕𝚢𝚝𝚑 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚂𝚢𝚕𝚟𝚒𝚎, 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚋𝚘𝚝𝚑 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚕𝚊𝚢 𝚟𝚘𝚕𝚕𝚎𝚢𝚋𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗𝚜𝚝 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚜𝚎 𝚕𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚕𝚢 𝚐𝚞𝚢𝚜 𝚘𝚗 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚜𝚒𝚍𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚗𝚎𝚝, 𝚒𝚗 𝚘𝚛𝚍𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚘 𝚠𝚒𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚘 𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚏𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚜! 𝚠𝚑𝚒𝚕𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚘𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚛 𝚝𝚎𝚊𝚖 𝚑𝚊𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚐𝚊𝚒𝚗 𝚝𝚠𝚎𝚕𝚟𝚎 𝚙𝚘𝚒𝚗𝚝𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚋𝚎 𝚏𝚊𝚒𝚛! 𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝚕𝚞𝚌𝚔, 𝚊𝚗𝚍 𝚍𝚘𝚗'𝚝 𝚍𝚒𝚎!"
The voice seemed to have ended it's explanation, once again sounding like the happiest being on the planet.
-----
Delyth and Sylvie looked absolutely terrified as they heard what they were supposed to do.
While Solon crouched down in his box in distress.
"Don't die?! how the hell do you die in a volleyball game?!" Vaan questioned as he smacked his cage.
Solon was about to intervene until the voice came back once again.
"𝙾𝚑! 𝙳𝚒𝚍 𝙸 𝚖𝚎𝚗𝚝𝚒𝚘𝚗 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚙 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖? 𝚅𝚊𝚊𝚗, 𝚂𝚘𝚕𝚘𝚗, 𝙸'𝚖 𝚝𝚊𝚕𝚔𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚝𝚘 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚐𝚞𝚢𝚜. 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚝𝚛𝚢 𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚢𝚘𝚞 𝚌𝚊𝚗 𝚝𝚘 𝚑𝚎𝚕𝚙 𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚖 𝚒𝚏 𝚗𝚎𝚌𝚎𝚜𝚜𝚊𝚛𝚢! 𝚈𝚘𝚞 𝚑𝚊𝚟𝚎 𝚝𝚎𝚗 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚝𝚘 𝚙𝚛𝚎𝚙𝚊𝚛𝚎 𝚋𝚎𝚏𝚘𝚛𝚎 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚛𝚘𝚞𝚗𝚍 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚜 𝚐𝚒𝚛𝚕𝚜! 𝙷𝚎𝚎𝚑𝚎𝚎!"
The voice started giggling, entertained.
"Oh my goodness, thank you!" Solon thanked as he immediately got up and walked closer to the glass wall in front of him.
"Do you girls know how to play volleyball?" Solon asked as he put his hands together.
"uhh.. well I mean.. I played volleyball in first grade I think.." Sylvie said nervously, she was embarrassed at the fact that she didn't notice this was volleyball at first.
"I can pass a ball. does volleyball involve passing?" Delyth asked.
Vaan started punching the wall while Solon slowly slid his forehead down on the glass.
"You guys play volleyball or something?" Sylvie asked confused at the reaction.
"Yes! that's literally how we met!" Solon shouted out on the brink of giving up.
"Then could you idiots shut up and start explaining! I'm too pretty to die!" Delyth shouted back at them.
"𝙵𝚒𝚟𝚎 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚕𝚎𝚏𝚝" the voice chirped in.
"God damn it woman! calm the hell down, I'll explain!" Vaan shouted out as he got irritated.
"So there are six positions in total, you apparently have to manage to play all six, I don't know how but we'll figure it out-" Vaan started.
"We have the outside hitter and right wing spiker, they are the ones who spike the ball to gain a point, next we have the libero, they're the best receivers in the game, they are the ones who receive the ball to the setter. Now the setter is considered as the brain or heart of the team, they set the ball for the spiker-" Vaan was over explaining when Solon cut him off with a groan.
"Your main goal is just 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙." Solon said seriously as the Delyth and Sylvie's attention switched towards him.
"Do everything you can to stop it from hitting the ground. Use your damn face if you have to, using any body part is legal! Because once the ball touches the ground, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨." Solon said as he sent them both a dedicated glare.
"Tch." Vaan scuffed at the fact that Solon had the audacity to interrupt him.
Before the girls could ask anymore questions, their hearts dropped and they gulped when they heard the voice chirp in once more.
"𝚉𝚎𝚛𝚘 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚕𝚎𝚏𝚝! 𝙸𝚝'𝚜 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎."
𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚..𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣..
