{Previously On "Face Your Mistakes"}

The gang had finally found out what the first real challenge was and what they were supposed to do.

"Your main goal is just 𝙙𝙤𝙣'𝙩 𝙡𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙖𝙡𝙡 𝙩𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙." Solon said seriously as the Delyth and Sylvie's attention switched towards him.

"Do everything you can to stop it from hitting the ground. Use your damn face if you have to, using any body part is legal! Because once the ball touches the ground, 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙙 𝙚𝙣𝙙𝙨." Solon said as he sent them both a dedicated glare.

"Tch." Vaan scuffed at the fact that Solon had the audacity to interrupt him.

Before the girls could ask anymore questions, their hearts dropped and they gulped when they heard the voice chirp in once more.

"𝚉𝚎𝚛𝚘 𝚖𝚒𝚗𝚞𝚝𝚎𝚜 𝚕𝚎𝚏𝚝! 𝙸𝚝'𝚜 𝚝𝚒𝚖𝚎."

𝙇𝙚𝙩 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙜𝙖𝙢𝙚..𝘽𝙚𝙜𝙞𝙣..

Will Sylvie and Delyth be able to pull this off?

Or will they only be left in disappointment?

Will Solon and Vaan find a way out of the clear box they happen to be stuck in?

Find out the answers to these questions in this chapter of...

"Face Your Mistakes"

___________________________

Both Delyth and Sylvie exchanged looks of horror as realization dawned on them.

𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙝𝙖𝙨 𝙛𝙞𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙗𝙚𝙜𝙪𝙣..

They both saw that a ball was given to one of the males on the other side.

"He's going to serve." Sylvie said as she grabbed Delyth's arm. "You go stand at the back, I'll stand at the front."

They both completely despised the fact that they have to communicate and work together, but apparently if they want to win, they have to.

They both figured out a decent formation even though there's not much you can do with two people.

The male threw the ball in the air. Delyth and Sylvie's eyes widened as he hit the ball towards them.

Sylvie tried to remember as hard as she could on how she was supposed to.. what was it again? Receive it? yeah that.

Before any of them could even react the ball collided with the ground.

"Aghh!" Vaan and Solon both screamed out in the same time.

Were they... in pain?

A whistle was heard in the distance as a scoreboard appeared.

[ 1-0 ]

They got a point..

Solon and Vaan looked at each other with an unexplainable look, while Sylvie and Delyth both inhaled sharply as they finally saw what they're up against.

This was going to be one hell of a game.

-----

After two more rounds of the same guy serving and gaining a point each and every time, Sylvie decided she had to think of something, it was now 3-0 and they couldn't afford another point lost.

Sylvie and Delyth found out that every time the other team scored, Both Vaan and Solon got electrocuted in some way.

Sylvie finally remembered how one was supposed to receive a ball correctly and immediately tried to teach it to Delyth in time before the next serve happened.

Vaan slowly got up as he and Solon were previously crouching as they were cringing.

He looked at Sylvie with slight hope in his eyes. "She might actually save this game.." Solon said as he looked at the look in Vaan's eyes. "Let's just hope we don't legitimately pass out because of them." Vaan sighed.

A whistle is heard once more.

They're going to serve again..

The male glared towards them as he bounced the ball off the ground.

He once again served the ball, only this time he had a smirk on his face.

But he wasn't the only one smirking as Sylvie gave the same look back at him, only her smirk was wiped off her face as soon as she heard the ball collide with something.. only that 'something' wasn't the ground.

Instead, the ball had been served towards the back where Delyth was.

And instead of receiving it correctly she had somehow managed to receive it with her face.

Sylvie was ready to give up but she saw that the ball was still in the air.

"The round hasn't ended yet!" Solon shouted out as he banged on the clear box containing him, Vaan immediately joins him in doing so.

Sylvie looked up at the ball as everything went in slow motion in her head.

That receive was somehow really clean.

"She can spike it." Solon mumbled to himself, Vaan nodding next to him.

Even though Delyth received it with her face and she's currently on the ground, it almost resembled a toss..

Sylvie's eyes widened as she caught on what she should do next.

She quickly glanced to the side to see the middle blockers on the complete opposite side of where the ball was going.

With her eyes tainted with dedication she ran, and she jumped.

Her memories were going wild in her head, even though she'd only played in first grade, they had taught her how to spike.

So it was worth trying.

Vaan's eyes clenched shut as he winced at her horrible form.

But instead of feeling pain again, he felt.. nothing?

A gasp was heard as the sound of the ball hitting the ground echoed through the area.

Vaan slowly opened his eyes and the scene before him unfolded.

Delyth was slowly getting up from the ground, Sylvie was panting with her hands on her knees, the other team in shock and the ball was rolling across the ground.

Vaan's eyes widened as a whistle was heard and a scoreboard appeared once more.

[ 3-1 ]

𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚..

Then a voice shouted out, "Yes!! Let's go!!" Vaan pumped a fist in the air.

Sylvie looked up and so did Delyth, they both had small smiles on their faces.

"Don't celebrate so god damn early, we haven't won yet." Solon said as he sent a glare towards Vaan.

Sylvie and Delyth already knew that though, but they couldn't help but crack a small smile at the fact that they managed to get a point.

Delyth looked at Sylvie, "That was just our luck, I should've tried more." Delyth said as she gazed towards where Solon and Vaan were.

Sylvie just looked at her, then gave her shoulder a push.

Sylvie didn't say anything, but she hoped that Delyth understood what that push meant. 'Just keep pushing through'

Delyth glanced back at Sylvie, she hated having to work with her, but she had to admit, she was saving them right now.

-----

Round after round.

Point after point.

It really seemed like that one point they got really was just luck.

It was now 12-1

Sylvie and Delyth were working up one hell of a sweat.

While Vaan and Solon were laying on the ground in agony.

Vaan and Solon had to handle a hell of a lot of pain during this.

They were able to call for another ten minute break so that Sylvie and Delyth could talk.

"Listen I have an idea.." Sylvie stated as she walked towards Delyth. "Remember what you said before? That out first point was just our luck?"

"Yeah? And your point is?" Delyth asked confused.

"That's exactly it, we can have luck on our side for five minutes to be specific if you know what I'm saying~" Sylvie suggested.

Delyth pondered in thought then realization struck her.

She did a rather familiar pose with her hand and her status came up.

[ 𝙰𝚋𝚒𝚕𝚒𝚝𝚢:

𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙡𝙪𝙘𝙠, 𝙖𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙠𝙣𝙤𝙬𝙣 𝙖𝙨 5;5.

She smirked as she knew what she had to do.

As the opponent team was drinking water, Delyth slowly came up to them.

Her eyes immediately landed on the captain. "Let's get this magic started." Delyth whispered to herself.

As Sylvie watched from afar, she found this absolutely disgusting, but they need to do anything to win right now.

Who knows what would happen if they lost.

As Delyth walked back after flirting and seducing the team (Mostly the captain) successfully, she got in position as she nodded towards Sylvie.

Vaan and Solon slowly got up as they saw a shining yellow aura surrounding Delyth.

Her five minutes of good luck start now.

As if on cue, a whistle is heard indicating that the round is starting once more.

It was their turn to serve once again, this time Sylvie gave the ball to Delyth.

Delyth looked at Sylvie slightly unsure, but Sylvie just gave her a nod of reassurance.

Delyth took a breath as she threw the ball in the air and tried to replicate how she saw Sylvie and the guy on the other team do it.

She jumped as she her palm hit the ball.

The ball started spinning while it was in the air.

She wasn't the strongest so it was quite a weak serve, but that seemed to work for their favor.

All the guys on the other team were in the back row as they were waiting for the serve, but the ball had hit the net instead.

The ball just slowly fell on the opponents side as they all tried to dive for the ball.

But to no avail..

Delyth and Sylvie got the point.

[ 12-2 ]

Now both teams needed three more points.

-----

Solon had his hand resting on what they thought was a glass box.

He couldn't help but analyse the box and noticed something rather odd.

He gasped as he realized what this actually was, which made Vaan glanced towards him.

"This- this isn't glass-" Solon started rather quietly. "It's a digital barrier!"

Before Vaan could reply to Solon's discovery, they both screamed out as they tried to hold themselves up from falling.

Vaan glanced up to see what was happening, his eyes training up to scoreboard.

[ 13-4 ]

Vaan looked to his right to look at Solon, only to find him already looking at him.

They both looked back to see that Delyth no longer had a glowing aura surrounding her.

But Solon was too focused on his own task at hand at the moment.

As Solon trailed his fingers across the barrier he felt something he could click, wait- there's more than one.

Vaan glanced at Solon once again, only to be shocked as he saw a blue-ish purple aura surrounding Solon.

He looked so focused as he pushed the barrier in a certain order it was as if he was playing an instrument, or as if he was putting in a code of some sort-

"Aghh!!" Vaan and Solon both screamed once again.

[ 14-4 ]

"God damnit!" Solon groaned as he got up and continued what he was doing, this time in a hurry.

"Top left... bottom right.. and there we go-" Solon mumbled to himself.

Vaan's eyes widened as he saw both of their barriers disappear, and so did Solon's aura.

Without having to say a word to each other, both Solon and Vaan immediately jumped into action as they entered the match.

Sylvie and Delyth were taken a back as they saw the two boys run in.

Vaan quickly received the ball, sending it towards Solon as the girls watched it awe.

Solon quickly tossed the ball beautifully towards Vaan as Vaan jumped and spiked it.

They just did a quick attack..

Silence filled the air once more..

Until they heard a whistle.

[ 14-5 ]

[~Winner! Winner!~]

Everyone immediately erupted into shouts

"Yes!" Sylvie yelled out, her and Delyth running and embracing each other.

"Let's go dude!! that was crazy!" Vaan said as he pulled Solon into a half hug, half handshake.

They all realized what they were doing and pulled back immediately.

Delyth cleared her throat awkwardly, "Great work guys."

"Yeah, we were freaking awesome." Vaan said as he let out a small smile.

"We did it... We completed the first challenge of the game.." Sylvie said as she looked towards each of them.

"This might be the first, but I know it won't be the last.." Solon stated, dedication dusting across his eyes.
