A small boy lays across the floor, drawing a picture of him and his mother. When he finishes, he picks up the drawing and smiles at it.
"Perfect." The boy says.
At that moment, his mother walks through the door with a somber smile on her face. The boy jumps up on his feet and runs into her arms. The two embrace for a moment, then the boy shows her the picture he drew.
"Look what I made, mom! Do you like it?"
Tears start to well up in her eyes as she smiles and puts her hands on his face.
"I love it, sweetheart. Good job."
The boys smile gets even bigger and brighter.
"Promise you won't go anymore, right mom?"
Tears fully fall down the mother's face as she grabs her son's hand.
"I'm so sorry, Terry. Remember that I will love you, always. Goodbye."
She then disappears, leaving the boy all alone.
"Mom? Mommy?"
The lights slowly fade out, leaving Terry in the dark alone.
"Mom!" He yells with tears in his eyes.
The much older boy wakes up from the dream, taking deep breaths. He rubs the back of his neck and looks out of the window. His aunt named Tracy Evens then peaks through his door.
"Tj, are you ok, hunny?"
Tj turns around and smiles to reassure his aunt.
"Yeah, I'm fine Aunt Tracy. Just a... weird dream."
Tracy comes in and sits down next to him on the bed.
"Are you feeling nervous about your first day at school?" She asks.
"A little bit. But I'll be fine."
Tracy kisses Tj on his forehead.
"Of course you will. Go ahead and get ready, breakfast is downstairs."
As Tracy leaves the room, Tj lets out a deep breath and gets out of bed.
A few minutes later, Tj comes downstairs and sees his uncle Marko reading the paper and drinking coffee. Tj pats him on the back and grabs a piece of toast and bacon.
"Good morning uncle Marko."
Marko looks up from his paper and smiles.
"Morning, kiddo. You ready for today?"
"Yeah, I think so." Tj replies as he approaches the door.
"Goodluck son. Do your best." Frank says.
"Have a good day, Tj." Tracy says, waving excitedly at him.
As Tj leaves, a almost worried look appears on her face. Marko notices and grabs her hand in reassurances.
"You think he's ready for this, Marko?"
Marko doesn't answer for a moment.
"We couldn't hide the boy forever. Besides, he needs this."
Tracy nods in understanding.
As Tj walks to his new school, he sees a small boy playing with his dog. The dog then runs into the street and the boy follows him. He tries to bull the dog back on the sidewalk, but a big truck comes out of nowhere, heading straight towards them. Tj's eyes start to glow bright red and he quickly grabs the boy and his dog and moves them out of the way, without them even noticing.
As Tj moves back to where he was standing, he let's out a sigh of relief.
"That was close. Good thing no one was around to see that, otherwise Aunt Tracy would have a heart attack that someone found out about me."
As he continues to walk, something is watching him from the shadows.
