Tj sits at a desk as his class is about to start. He then hears a girl talking on the phone outside of the school.
"Yes hermano, I have everything. It's been almost a year, I can't stay at home forever. Yes, I'm positive I have everything, stop asking me-"
The girl checks her back and notices something is missing.
"And I forgot my pen... No, I don't need you to come by, I'll just- borrow it from someone. Ok, love you too."
As the girl turns around, Tj is stunned by how pretty she is, wearing a black, with beautiful hair and skin. A few minutes later, she walks into the room as whispers and murmurs are shared between the rest of the students. The girl then let's out a sigh and sits behind Tj. The young man then quickly reaches into his backpack and gives her one of his pens.
She looks at him, confused as to how he knew she needed a pen.
"Thanks." She tells him.
Tj nods and turns back around with a big smile on his face.
As the day continues, Tj not only answers most of the questions asked by his teachers, but also gets talked about for his "good looks" and for beating up Johnny and Bruce earlier, gaining popularity on his first day. Later on, Tj has gym class with David and Jay. He walks over to the two as David gets excited.
"Hey, Dj." He says.
"Tj." Jay corrects him.
"Tj, wassup man."
Tj chuckles.
"Hey guys, how's it going?"
"Well besides having gym class right now, it's going pretty good, I guess." Jay says.
"Tell me about it, gym class is the worst." David adds as both of them groan together.
"So what are we doing today anyway?"
"Well it's Monday, so-"
A whistle is then heard, interrupting David and getting everyone's attention.
"Alright everyone! Rope climb! Ring the bell in forty seconds, or you'll owe me forty laps. So, who's first?" The gym teacher says.
As no one volunteers, the coach decides to pick someone himself.
"Miller! Step right up."
David let's out sigh and slowly approaches the rope.
"Yaaaaay."
The whistle sounds and David starts climbing the rope. He soon rings the bell in thirty seconds.
"Not your best, Mr. Miller!" The coach yells.
"Are you kidding?!" David yells back.
Everyone else then climbs the rope. Some would take twenty seconds, others took thirty seconds, most wouldn't make under forty seconds.
"Alright, next up. Tj Evens."
As Tj walks over to the rope, the girl that he gave the pen to walks into the gym. Brenda looks over and sees her.
"Hey, Rosa! Over here!" She yells.
Rosa smirks and walks over to her.
"You sure you want to be seen with the school psycho?" Rosa asks as three girls stand in the corner making fun of her.
"Stop it, you're not crazy. And screw anyone who thinks differently."
"You're just saying that because you're the only one who actually believe what I saw that night."
Rosa then looks at Tj preparing to climb.
"Hey who's the new guy?" Rosa asks.
When Brenda looks at Tj, she smiles.
"Oh that's Tj Evens. He's pretty cool, defended me against those two ass holes Johnny and Bruce earlier."
"Yeah, he gave me a pen before I even asked for one. There's something off about him."
"Come on, he's nice guy. Plus he's really cute."
As Rosa thinks to herself, the whistle sounds and Tj starts climbing. As he climbs, everyone watches in shock. He rings the bell and the coach looks at his stopwatch.
"Nine seconds!"
Everyone is stunned for a moment, then everyone cheers and claps for Tj as Rosa watches in suspicion.
"I wonder how I get down from here?" Tj asks himself.
