After the destruction of Earth by the likes of Chaos and its resurrection by Fenrir who now takes the name of Fin, the new world has now once again evolved. The only difference now is it only took hundreds of thousands of years instead of millions. With the development of a mango cal essence called Mana and Magic, veins called Leylines spread through the world. The continent of Strazza Grah focuses on Magic for every day uses and war between the Ruling Kingdoms spread throughout. On the other side of the world is a nameless continent where Man, Wolf, and Lycan of all kinds live together until half of the population had been destroyed by the dragons of the desert known as Deathworms and Kagan Crawlers.
In a village on the outskirts of the desert lives a peaceful village Kana's Vale. The village was only two miles from a wall of mountains and an arch between it known as Kanes Arch. The village sat in the middle of a twenty foot high stone wall with a gate facing the north. Children ran around playing in the endless sand while one boy sat by himself. The boy was thin and pale with white hair. His eyes bright red as he sat curled up with his arms around his legs. No one came in reach of him as they all avoided him like a curse or a plague. His mind wandered from thought to thought and even questioning himself until he was suddenly interrupted.
"Gale! Sound the alarm!" A man on the wall yelled out for another. He wore tattered leather pants and a thin sleeveless shirt. Scars covered his arms and up to his shoulders and bore a long scar across his cheek. His head was bald and with sweat dripping down
The man known as Gale, dressed similar to the one who called his name, ran down to the center of the village ringing a dozen bells with one pull of a string. The bells were quiet at first then progressively grew louder, echoing through the village. As he rang, two men limped through the gates with gashes and blood soaked. Their lack of clothing revealed they were Guardians of the Village, men with the abilities to shapeshift into Lycans themselves. The men limp past the gates and are swarmed by healers who help them to a large hut and lay them down in beds. The boy stands up and and gains view through the crack of the gate in time to see movement. He couldn't tell what it was but he knew it wasn't good
"Get the boy to safety! We cannot let anything happen to him!" An older man who wore leather armor steps out of a large hut. He was muscular or his age and had a long white and gray beard that dropped to his chest. "Graz! Dren! Take the boy North!"
Two more men dresses like the old man rushed over to the boy. "Chief are you certain?" One called out to him. "Can we trust them?"
The old chief looks at them and nods. "I have an old friend who was the Chief back in the day. Now go!" As he called back, an explosion bursts against the gate. Fire now began to spread, devouring the gate.
The boy looks around as one lifts him up into his arms and carries him out into a hidden door on the wall. The two men would have to be careful and sneak past the unknown enemy but with his eyes, the boy could see a flowing red eyes through the smoke. The beast was massive but the body was hidden.
"Jackals! We fight for the village or die for the Village!" The men could hear the old chief yelling as they gained distance then the howls of their Jackals and soldiers began their attack.
A couple minutes now pass as the two men carried him to safety but began to hear screams and cries as the village was burning and being slaughtered. "Get Jayce to safety… I can't just leave them to be slaughtered…"
"Be careful Graz…." Dren kept his eyes on the path ahead as he hears his old friend shift into a Lycan. His head that of a Jackal, unsheathing his sword from the back and began to sprint back to the village.
"Why now are you two protecting me…" Jayce asked curiously.
"The two of us always have. Ever since your parents…" He shook his head and continued to his pace to Kane's Arch. He then sets the boy back down in his feet. "I'm afraid this is as far as I go…. Keep going North," he says pointing in the direction he speaks of. "There you'll find a village of Wolves who can protect you better than we could…"
The thought of someone actually caring about him from his own village broke his heart and he looks down crying.
"Jayce…" Dren said softly and gives him a hug. "The world will need you one day, but for now make a friend or two, get stronger… Graz and I will be by your side watching you grow.. Now go!" He yells at him making him flinch at first.
Jayce looks at the man before he turns his back and draws two sword from his back. "I will make sure to hold them back as much as I can… Now go…" The broken hearted boy turns and sprints as fast as he can while Dren smiles. "That boy will be just like you…" He mutters a name then looks back toward the village as it had grown silent. Once out of view, Drens worries about the young boy faded so he could focus on the fight at hand. A creature then peaks around from the hidden exit on the wall then a swarm of the creature began to charge at him.
"Well.. May the desert take me…" He too shifts into a Jackal headed Lycan then charges the unknown creatures to his death.
