Chapter 35 - One of Them?

Mr. Lukas found Renar throwing the diary into the junkyard. Not only me but also the part timer boy was kind of surprised to Mr. Lukas's ability.

"forward it a bit!" said Mr. Lukas. His eyes were glowing with excitement just like a four years old child who found something exciting to play with.

The part timer did as he was told. A few minutes passed idle nothing was interesting happened. But something gasped Mr. Lukas's attention as he said "stop!" for the second time. Hearing that we, I mean me and the part-timer went near the monitor swiftly. The three of our head hit hard enough that only I and the boy screamed out of pain.

"ouch!"

"ah! It hurts"

A boy came across the junkyard. In his hands were a bag that contains some cheap instant foods. Seeing it the part time boy jumped out of his designated place.

"T-That guy came here that day and brought a instant noodles and a drink."

We didn't give him a crap and focused ourselves on the monitor screen.

The boy didn't show any sign of anything weird although his dress looked kind of peculiar. He came near the pile of junk and stopped midway. He was staring something for a while. Wait it was the dairy Renar threw a while ago. The boy was thinking about something. For a moment he glanced right and left and, in the end, pulled the diary from the trash. At that spit moment, he fell down on the ground as if the diary contains electrical shook wave. He growled in pain while grabbing his chest tightly. I instantly glazed at Mr. Lukas and uttered,

"When Renar was holding the diary, he didn't feel no pain. Then why was the boy was feeling this intense amount of pain?"

Mr. Lukas didn't answer me right away instead he thought for a while and then replied, "Perhaps, the diary can only be activated by the human. Or may be the boy was the on who could only activate it's power."

What Mr. Lukas said might be right but I think this is something deeper than what we are thinking.

The boy crawled onward and stopped after a few miles. I with the part-timer boy couldn't able to see the boy dying in front of our very eyes. We both averted our eyes with sadness filled into it. But Mr. Lukas was watching it so mildly as if it some fabulous thriller movie. I see the excitement pilling inside Mr. Lukas's eyes. This man… This man is the Psychopath here… I couldn't help but to hate him for that reason. How was a human can able to watch another human die in pain?

Just at that moment, Mr. Lukas yelled out loudly as if the movie had reached its climax.

"YEAH! NOW THE GAME IS ON!!" We both averted our downcast eyes on the monitor. What I saw wasn't something I expected. The boy that was in the blink of death stood up. His eyes were red as rose. His body had become muscular like a man who had trained himself for past ten years. The veins were all popping out crazily. He had become a monstrous being, A inhuman creature. I couldn't see any sign of morality in him. The breathing he was taking was heavy, I could gasp it from how he was shaking. He looked at us, the CCTV camera in furiously. Or that what I could say his expression was. I stood still in cold. That horrific being and I was staring at each other. My hands became icy cold. Was it because of my fear?

Then again that monster ran away hurriedly. I didn't know what happened earlier than that. Mr. Lukas filled the gaps for me. The boy in pain again attempted to take the diary he fell earlier and that monster thing took control of his body. The part timer boy was shivering in terror as he also saw that thing with us. He told us which direction the boy most properly could go. MR. Lukas pulled himself out of the monitor but his eyes were saying, "Maybe I should watch it again. It was so fun."

We arrived at here in evening but it took us so long that the sun had fallen west and day became night. It was dark outside. Despite that we intended to move forward to the path of unknown.

"Mr. Lukas! Mr. Lukas! I tried to stop him as he walking way fast. Moreover, he was mumbling on his own. He didn't even bother to look me. I who was much afraid of them were shaking slightly. Even in my dreams, I have never thought of fighting them. The downtown road is scary itself. I wonder how people are able live here. If it were me, I would never in my live stay her.

I finally was able to walk side by side with him. His pacing was fast.

"Sir! Even we find where he is, how we are able to find that monster? We would definitely be the one killed." I said in a worried manner.

Fast Mr. Lukas acted as if it didn't bother him but then again, he regained his consciousness and spoke out,

"Yes! You're right! We wouldn't be able to capture that thing. Call the department and ask them to send out all teams available. Don't forget to say my name first otherwise they wouldn't send all of them." Saying than Mr. Lukas went in his thoughts mumbling something like how he would capture it or something like that.

Today Mr. Lukas wasn't in his usual self. He would never forget so important topics. After all, our motto is 'Safety First'

Perhaps the CCTV footage had triggered him or so I thought. He was a strange guy from the very beginning. When I first met him, he was way creepier than now. He was seating in couch that was placed in dark corner of his office room. I was freaked out seeing him like that holding a crime book.

Then noticing me he looked up to me and closed the book he was holding.

"You might be the new junior intern. Seat down on that chair." I did as he told me. Then he asked me a weird question that I didn't know the correct answer.

"Have you ever tasted the flavor of killing? If not then you're not eligible to be my junior." His eyes were dead scary. That day I didn't even get to sleep at night and thought over that matter over again and again. Just how could someone taste killing? Is that even scientifically possible? If I asked that to a doctor, he would definitely hand me to the police, thinking that I'm one of them.

With that, we advanced with a heart full of anxious.
