I opened my eyes blurring out. The first thing I saw was the diary in my right hand. I was holding the diary all along this time.
* So, you are awake. Should I say Good Morning? That would be boring.*
"You tricked me. This is not the system that I anticipated. This is all your fu*king lie." I shrieked in anger.
* No, this is genuin-* As he was going to finish his word, My door started knocking continually.
"Hey! Are you okay? Answer me. I heard you screaming. Open the door!" A voice of a young girl. I stood up from the floor and was on my way to unlock the door. First, I hesitated but then again I gathered my head and opened the door.
"You are okay right?" She said forcefully and entered the room. Oh, I remembered, in the morning I saw a beautiful girl who moved in next door. She might be hereafter listening to the scream.
She grazed my entire flat in search of danger. She might have thought that I got assail by an intruder. I was shocked to see her. Because I never once took a girl into my home. This building is like a haunted house. I play games late at night in full sound but nobody cares about that. I got scolded a few times.
But, this is the first time someone came to see me, not to complain about it. That made me really happy but I didn't show it on my face. "I see, you are okay. Don't go screaming like that. Okay, bye." She said while about to leave.
When she was about to like I asked, "Do... you want... to eat something? A...." I said nervously. Oh dumbass, why do you have to do it? You should die rather than asking that. That's so cliché. I thought embarrassingly.
*You are worst at flirting. I see why you don't have any girlfriend, ha*
"Hmmm...I haven't eaten Lunch yet. I guess then yes."
I hurriedly organized my bed in a miniate and boiled water to cook the instant noodles.
"You don't go to school?" I moved my head horizontally making an answer no, I don't.
"Any reason?"
"I just don't like school," I said.
"So, you are a loner. Don't worry I didn't mean to hurt you. Maybe I could be your friend."
I was astonished to hear that, "Are you sure about that? You know I'm not that good at socializing. You should think again."
"Who cares about socializing? I'll be fine."
I put the boiled water in the cup of noodles. Then bought it near her.
"Here." "Where's yours?" She asked.
"I…I….already took my breakfast. I'm drinking this juice. Don't bother, you eat it."
"Are you really fine?" I nodded in affirmative.
"By the way, I'm Jessica. Third-year student."
"I'm... Jo- Jodan." She was listening to my words while eating the noodles without any break. She might really be hungry. I can clearly see a hungry wolf without eating for a week.
*You like her right? By the look of your eyes, I can surely guess it. Why don't you ask her out*
"Just shut up!"I yelled. "Mind your business?"
As I bawled loud enough to reach her, she altered her graze from the cup noodles to me. Anything wrong? Was written on her face.
Therefore, I replied, "Ummm, no- no problem. You continue."
I was about to get into her bad impression. Just what's wrong with this voicing old man? He is grimacing me every time.
"So, you.....l-live alon-e-e." She was talking while eating so her words could hardly be understood."
"hmm, I'm living alone for five years after WW3. It was not that tough." I made an awkward grin. More likely a forceful grin.
"Like I said I moved to the next door. So, if you ever feel lonely just come to my apartment." It was quite astounding, It's very unlikely for a girl to say that to a boy. But she said it so easily. Seeing me looked shocked she said,
"Ah, don't get the wrong idea. I wasn't saying anything weird." She forfeited her saying, getting red on her chicks. If she didn't solve her mistake, I would totally take it in the wrong way.
"You really love video games." Seeing all the selves filled with DVDs of games, she said.
"It's kind of my hobby to play them."
"So, you brought so many games from your pocket money."
"I didn't bring them all at once. When I have some cash in my wallet, I would go to the shop and got a or two of them. Sometimes I had to do some part-time jobs to get the expensive ones."
" You did part-time jobs for buying those games?" She reacted with wonder.
I nodded my head.
"You're a strange guy."
"I'm done." She said while taking the cup to the kitchen. I said while following him, " You don't have to do it. Just leave it here." "Oka-" when reaching the kitchen, she slipped. I was behind her, so I grabbed her by the shoulder. "My bad," she said while smiling. I was quite embarrassed. I never had a girlfriend. I didn't know how to react.
She pulled herself, I moved my hand from her shoulder. "Uhh- bye" she left my apartment nimbly. So, she's my neighbor now. Oh, she is a nice girl and my first ever female friend.
"Now's your time Mr. Voice actor."
*uh! Are you referring to me? I almost went asleep because of your boring conversation. If you want more information about the system, read that freaking diary.* I took the diary as it was fallen on the floor. The first page was empty but the next page was filled with writings such as goals, quests, and the definition of each option. Quest one is the most important one.
I played many games in the past few years. I know about that option more or less. I flipped through several pages and saw other options. Some of the sections were locked. Maybe leveling will unlock it. On the last page, there are written the creator's name.
"Dr. Rickon Brady."
*that's my name. I made this system. I once was a famous psychopath. You can google it.* He said it with dignity as if it was an honor.
I typed his name on my phone.
" who's he?"
* He's the leader of an infamous psychopath organization named 'Thirsty Wolves'. He asked me to made the system. You see I'm a scientist, I like doing those things.*
"And the purpose of making the system?"
*Purpose? To create the perfect psychopath. Kinda like many people are trying to create the perfect Human. If you follow the diary, you'll be a perfect psychopath in no time.*
I was a bit perplexed to hear that. "To create a perfect psychopath?"
*Hmm, Psychopaths also have some disadvantages. They're maybe stronger than any humans but they also have flaws just like humans. They can't use their power all the time. They face problems utilizing their power fully. They had to be at a particular age to use their psychopath power entirely. Not only that, but they also have to kill humans to get stronger. It might be a little off. In other words, the more they kill humans, their desire evolved and gradually they get stronger. *
I knew that Psychopaths kill humans but why that I didn't know.
"So, killing is the only way to get stronger?"
"Exactly."
"The leader of that organization Kamura asked me to do something about that drawback.
*"Create one of us without any weakness." He said just like that.*
On one page I saw a section called Kill Count.
"Hey! What's this about?" *It's what it said? It will count your killing. You have to kill to survive.*
Sweats poured from my foreheads, My hand froze with coldness.
"What?! But I don't... want to kill anybody." I was extremely stunned.
*There's a penalty written there. Read it.*
Then again I took a gasp on the diary.
< If you don't assassinate anyone within 24 hours, your heart will stop beating and you'll receive sharp pain in your chest as a penalty. >
