The floor we live on is the 9th. I asked her why she moved here. Her answer was as clear as it seems.
"No reason particular reason."
Which way?"
"Right" I directed her, she was obediently following me. I wasn't able to hold any conversation. We both got an awkward feeling. To break the silence, she began chatting with me.
"So, you live here alone?" "Yeah," I said calmly. "What about your parents? They don't live here? Or maybe you got kicked?" She said while taunting. "Dad went missing. Mom's still alive but in a coma." Her smile immediately went off. "Uh, sorry. I didn't mean t-" "It's okay, not that you could do something."
We again went into the silence. "That's it." She said cheerfully, looking at the supermarket. I nodded my head. Went into the mart, she picked a cart to carry her buying. I was beside her standing, glancing around. I noticed a news conference on the tv, placed beside the counter.
"So, Mr. David what's your research about them? Could we get some more information? The interviewer asked the researcher, who was seated next to him. " I have found some interesting info about them. The psychopaths are born with nature to kill. They'll not able to retain themselves without killing. That's their basic aspect. They're some of them, who are Carnivale. Though, it can't be certainly told." "You are saying that they can't live without slaughtering?" The interviewer asked while blown. "Basically, yes. "
I wondered why they were telecasting this. If the government knew about it, they would have banded the channels that were giving info about them. Did they get permission from the government? Who knows.
"Is there any way to find out them? After all, they live among us, humans. "
"I'm still trying to figure out how to identify them. One thing we should all keep in mind that they're mind is way more twisted than any humans. If you ever encounter one of them, don't fight, you won't able to win, just run for your life." "Thanks for joining us. We really glad to hav-"
"Hey...I'm one of Them" I felt like someone whispered in my ear. I jumped out of scare.
looking back swiftly. "It's me," Jessica said, giggling. "Your face. The look on your face. Haha, You looked like you got scared out of hell." I felt really discomfiting, so I put my head down. Soon she stopped. The laundry shop was next to the mart, we washed out dirty clothes there with the free pass I got.
"I'm done shopping. you get some free time?" She asked me though I don't know why. I don't go to college. So, I'm free all day. I said to her notifiying that I'm mostly free. Suddenly, she ordered me. "Show me the town. I'm new here, so I need to go around the town." Even if I don't want to tag along, I have to do it because of the quest. So, I agreed. "Fine" Then we went to different places. Such as the museum, the bank of the river. Near the swimming pool, the clubbing areas. I checked the diary every once in a while. I was making progress.
1. Go out. [ Exp: 5] (Done)
2. Meet with Jessica [ Exp: 5] (Done)
3. Spend some time with her. [ Exp: 10 ]
4. [#$%&Blur+#-&] [ Exp: 100 ]
But the last one was still blurred. Everything was going accordingly. Isn't it just too perfect? I question aroused in my mind. *Time is ticking, Jodan.*
"I know." Visitng several places took time, so, it became lunchtime. We eat our lunch in a nearby cafe. It was a huge one to be honest. We ordered a beef stack with mashed potatoes for both of us. After that, we headed for the last place, The Park. It was near the cafe. Probably a few steps ahead. So, we didn't need to take the bus. Children of all ages were running, jumping there. We, as an adult was not supposed to do the same. But Jessica went next to them and began imitating them. She is so childish, though I really enjoyed watching her like that. I thought, standing from afar. I won't do something so immature. I'm a grown-up college bo-" without saying anything, she pulled my hands taking me towards her. "Jump," she said, grinning cheerfully. I drove into her beauty and couldn't refuse her order, as a result, I also began imitating the little kids.
"This is so fun!"
Her hair was dancing in the air, her hips were shaking rapidly. When she jumped, her skin went visible to my naked eyes. I couldn't resist but to stare. The women nearby were giving us a dead glance. Probably they are the mothers of those kids. They might be thinking, "What are those grown-ups doing here?" But we didn't give any heed to them. Shortly, it came to be evening, we were walking in the park, admiring nature. She saw a bench, no one there seating. So, she nobbly set there. Immediately after, she made a 'come, seat here' gesture to me. I sat next to her, but quite far from her. "Today was a wonderful day. What do you think? Isn't it lovely?" She inquired, facing me. "Umm. I had fun. The meal was great." I replied nervously.
Do you know what butterfly means in other words?
"Butterfly? Maybe solidity?"
"Psycho!"
I was astounded to hear that strange question. Getting no answer from she came closer to me.
"Right. (Sigh) hey! Do any psychopaths live here? She again asked a strange question. It was hard to answer back.
I was silent for a moment but then I said nervously ".....even if there's, how would I know?"
"True, but if there would be I would like to meet with them. They're so powerful. They murder people without feeling any empathy."
Normal people would get scared to hear those kinds of things but in her case, she was beaming, without any hesitation. Her eyes were sparkling brightly.
"oh! Sorry that's a strange thing to ask." She quickly gained her pace and became like usual.
*Hey, boi, why don't you open the diary, you got one quest to complete.* As I was enjoying my time with Jessica that old fart ruined it.
I pulled the diary from my pocket and opened it in my right hand so that she didn't notice it. She wasn't paying attention to me. I flipped to the daily quest page.
1. Go out. [ Exp: 5] (Done)
2. Meet with Jessica [ Exp: 5] (Done)
3. Spend some time with her. [ Exp: 10 ]
4. [ Murder her ] [ Exp: 100 ]
Murder her? That wasn't here before. I was totally dumbfounded by this sudden quest reveal. So, the moral of the story was the diary wanted me to kill Jessica. If I didn't do the upper quests, I wouldn't able to do the last one. As the truth was unraveling before my eyes that old man interfered again.
*What a stunning quest. I think, of all of the quests this one is the easiest. Oh, it's gonna be fun.* He's surely enjoying this
