Chapter 52 - Beach Trip ~ Magi x Reader (Aladdin, Alibaba, Male! Morgiana, & Jamil) (Modern AU!) (Part 1)

*This is based off the storyline in Invisible Chains in a Modern AU*

It was summer vacation, and I had been planning this trip the last several weeks. I begged Jamil to let us go to the beach, which he complied. He wasn't in the best mood though that I wanted my best friend, Morgin, to come with us. Now, the day we left for our trip, Alibaba and Aladdin ended up with us as well. The beach was maybe four hours away, but I hadn't been in so long. I had saved up and helped pay for the hotel portion of our 4-day trip. Despite any expenses, I was feeling pumped for this vacation and grateful I didn't have to go alone.

The drive there was not as beautifully portrayed as the movies. For the most part, it was silent. Alibaba had been stuck with the short end of the stick, driving us to our destination. Morgin sat in shotgun helping to navigate. I was hopeless with directions, Jamil wouldn't lift a finger, and Aladdin was too young to sit up front. Jamil and I were crammed in the back with Aladdin sitting between us. He glanced at me a few times with a bit out of desperation now and again.

I open a bag of chips, munching on the sweet miracle we call potato chips. Jamil reaches over, grabbing a handful of my beloved chips as I pout in defeat. I'm quick to forgive though as I continue to shove another in my mouth. "Can I have one?" Aladdin asks, looking up at me ever so desperately.

"No," Jamil replies before I can answer, "You're hyper enough already."

"Please, (y/n).." Aladdin pleads, looking up at me with such longing that I can't help but give in. Sending a glare in Jamil's direction, I give Aladdin a few chips. He hugs onto my arm gratefully, seeming to doze off.

"Why did we have to bring them along?" Jamil whispers in my ear. "I thought this trip was just us."

"You're mean," Aladdin glares up at him.

"And you're a nuisance."

"Let's stop arguing, you're both wonderful." With that I wrap an arm around Aladdin pulling him closer to me.

"Tch," Jamil seems to ignore me, but it doesn't last long. Grabbing onto my hand, he holds tightly to it for the rest of the drive.
