Chapter 12 - Chapter 11

I followed Jamil as he headed into the room. Bowing my head, I matched my pace with his. "Tch," I could only imagine the irritated scowl that adorned his face right now. When we reached the end of the hall he was greeted by some of the other slaves. A few had brought back goods from the market, others surrounded the table. One girl sent him a false smile as she pulled back the chair so he could take a seat. Plopping down into it, he let out a frustrated sigh. "Come in," He demanded, clearly irritated. Only hoping whoever it was wouldn't waste his precious time. I went to work massaging his shoulders as an exhausted version of the merchant from before came tumbling into the room. That frown tried to crawl onto my face again, but I quickly wiped it off. Two guards helped the man up as he caught his breath. Running a hand through his brown locks, Jamil spat out, "What happened? Your face is filthy..."

"I... have... something… to... uh... report..." Budel gasped between breaths.

"Calm down. You're unsightly," Jamil furrowed his brows and clicked his tongue. Not in the best of moods, he dismissed most everything the man had to say. He was already unhappy about his loss of wine delivery from the man earlier.

"I found him! The boy with the flute! The one who destroyed your wine! He's got some mysterious power-" Budel started, before my master stopped him.

"I know. My loyal dogs already told me." Jamil motioned to Morgin and me as the man trembled. He didn't hide his shock, only holding a pointing finger in both our direction.

"You!" He stuttered and was quick to back up closer to the exit. Morgin stood his ground, despite being a slave he knew he was an object of Jamil's. He looked down on the trembling merchant, those bright red eyes sending the man a fierce glare. The man took his leave as our Master laughed.

"Good boy, Morgin! You've proven well worth your cost." I stepped back as Jamil scooted his chair along the ground. Wrapping his arms behind his head he seemed to be thinking about something. He picked his swords up and smiled at us. If you can call it a smile. "Get the rest of the slaves. We're going into the dungeon. But first, I want to talk to you about something." He dragged the boy into the back and out of view. A few slaves scuffled into the back halls and rooms telling the others as we all gathered together. The place was chaotic, but it was quiet with nothing but whispers to those who had just come in to see the commotion.

I was lost in between the crowds as they gathered supplies and weapons until a warm hand grasped mine. I was pulled back into the empty hall. It wasn't until he had me pressed up against the wall that I realized who had brought me here. He hovered over me, our bodies so close, but I had grown used to it. Those green eyes burned into mine, but they were impossible to read. His lips crashed against mine in a passionate kiss as I continued to play along to keep my Master pleased. He latched his arms tightly around my waist holding me close to his heated form. Jamil pulled out gasping for air as he smirked down at me.

"I told you, didn't I? How my teacher told me about the Magi and how he would make me king." The Master let off his playful side. He was childish in many ways and us slaves in a sense took care of this child. He didn't show it as much earlier, but he was excited. "What do you think? Would I make a great king?"

I nodded my head, "Of course, Master. The greatest." His grin widened.

"(y/n)"

"Yes, Master?"

"What do you want?" The question caught me off guard, but I knew how to respond.

"I don't want anything." He seemed to frown at this.

"Do you want to stay while I take the others into the dungeon?"

"Only if you order me to." He loosened his grip around me, and he took a step back.

"Or, do you want to come with me?"

"That's not my choice, Master."

"What do you really want? You can tell me. I won't punish you." I paused. I didn't know how to respond. I hadn't considered that question in so long. Besides, it might just be a trick.

"I.. I don't know.. I only ever want what you want." He didn't say anything after that. Only nodded his head.

We returned to the others who were finishing up the last of preparations. Soon Jamil walked out the front door, the rest of us following. We appeared like an army to any passers. He grasped onto my hand and pulled me along with the others. Those in the markets stared and watched as we marched on towards the dungeon. Those in the streets were quick to move aside. As we stepped up the stairs he smirked towards me. "Ready?" I only nodded as we climbed up each step and all of us took our turn entering into what would be our doom.
