Dominique's Pov
"Shameless child!" My father shouted in anger.
A sudden slap hit my face I couldn't feel any pain at all.
"Aside from being useless why don't you just die!" My mother added glaring at me.
It was always like this every small faults they could see, every move I make the comparison is still on-going.
My dead sister Qivah will always be perfect in their eyes.
I didn't spoke or look at them I headed into the stairs without looking back.
As I close the door I leaned towards the wall and slowly drop myself at the floor.
The whole room was a mess I can still see the broken glasses and picture frame.
The wind blows the curtain revealing the moon brightly shining in the sky.
I smile faintly and buried my face with my palms.
"Your choice is your decision, Your fate is in your hands."
I froze and raised my head Lady Olivia was right.
Same thing with the book I am the author who'll write what will be the next chapter of my life.
I don't want to live in this kind of life my sister is dead but I'm still alive.
Why did I even accept their words in the first place? I must be crazy.
I stood up and walk towards my bed I slightly moved the bed and grab the chest under.
It was already filled with dust and the lock is already rusty.
I took out the key and unlock it as I opened the chest it showed a lot of plain paper and pencils.
Some are chains that I designed myself I don't want to be an advisor I want to create jewelries.
The next day I got myself up and grabbed my stuffs.
This place is a real hell for me I was thankful even tho it was painful.
"Where are you going?! Are you going to stain our family name again and-"
"Don't worry Viscount Al Verde you will no longer have to deal someone like me. Your daughter is dead so is your son if you'll excuse me I need to leave." I said and walked away I saw my mom yet she didn't even spoke nor gave me a glimpse.
I took the carriage and headed into the Passioné I have decided to support Lady Olivia.
"Greetings Sir De Morse does Lady Olivia has arrived?" I asked.
"Sir Al Verde good thing you are finally- where are you going?" He asked looking at me.
He might have notice that I didn't wear the family crest.
"I'm no longer part of the Al Verde's Clan please call me Dominique sir De Morse." I said.
He look at me seriously and sighed.
"Follow me." He said and walk towards the other door.
When he closed the door he faced me with a worried look.
"I didn't know that it was worse but I am glad that you left." He said while looking at me.
"I don't know what you are talking about Mr. De Morse." I lied and acted like I have no idea.
"I heard about your family especially your sister's death. It must be hard for you to take all the blame and faced those people who judge you." He said while patting my head.
I froze hearing what he just said and found myself uncomfortable.
"I-I d-din't kill her." I said trembling while clenching my fist in fear.
"I know I'm glad you came Dominique now that you left the the house of Al Verde what are your plans?" He asked.
I actually didn't think about that maybe I'll travel to a different kingdom and get lost?
I'm only 17 I guess I won't be able to get in easily because the male's proper age is 18 while for the ladies is at the age 15.
While I was lost at thought Sir Riché smiled at me genuinely.
"You see I was living alone with my husband and we don't even have any children." He said while looking at me.
I almost cried hearing what he just said and ran towards him.
He's suggesting to adopt me.
"From now on you will be Dominique De Morse you can start calling me Aiti." He said while rubbing my back.
(Äiti means mother)
"Äiti." I said and hugged him tightly.
We talked for a while and he suddenly stopped and remember something.
"I almost forgot Lady Olivia." He said and dragged me out of the room.
I was so happy thinking I finally have a great father that I didn't noticed he suddenly stopped.
I peep in the right side and noticed the door was slightly open and showed Lady Olivia.
She was staring at the broken mirror with a different expression I can't read.
Tears fall from her eyes while her hands were filled with blood and so is her dress.
The area feels so hard to breathe like it was filled with heavy emotion.
"Sir De Morse? the young lady told me to leave for a while why are you both standing outside?" The woman said looking at us.
I turned and look at Lady Olivia who is now looking at our spot.
She suddenly smiled like nothing happened and spoke.
"I'm sorry I accidentally broke the mirror." She said.
Riché De Morse POV
That kind of expression was scary how can a young child shows that kind of face.
She was injured yet she just stare out of nowhere and smiled in front of us.
I couldn't help but feel sad why do I feel she was keeping something.
"Olivia how old are you and where are your parents." I said in a straight tone.
I saw her flinch with a surprise face I saw her gripped her dress and lowered her head.
"I'm 15 years old, I don't have parents." She answered.
I didn't even know that the two of them are too young yet, they are even talking about business like grown ups.
"I see, Allison please give us some privacy." I said.
"I understand if you'll decline-"
"I would like to adopt the two of you." I said.
I don't know why but this might be called a parent's instinct.
The moment my eyes laid at the two of them I felt that weird feeling.
They are different Dominique has a stained past while Olivia was quiet aloof at everyone.
They are smart yet its scary to understand what are they thinking.
"W-why would you do that?" Olivia asked.
"Maybe because of this." I pointed my chest.
I wanted to help them get rid off that pain, they don't deserve to experience that.
I noticed her felt a glimpse of happiness but it was immediately erased.
"You won't like to adopt someone like me." She said with a different expression.
"How can you say that Olivia?" I asked in curiosity.
What are you afraid of Olivia? Are you hiding something?
Those are the thoughts running in my head because of her reaction.
"I'm Sue Olivia Isvicht the outcast child of Baron Isvicht. You won't like to have your precious name being stained because of an outcast noble-"
My left hand landed in her shoulders and gripped it tightly.
"How could you say such thing? Power is useless without life did you consider that Olivia?" I said while my hands were trembling in anger.
"You are smart yet you failed yourself with a ridiculous belief. How did you end up like this you are smart." I said in a sad tone.
Pain in her eyes showed while looking at me I was about to speak when Dominique hold her hand.
I pulled the two of them and hugged them tightly.
This feeling I know they also have it the only thing we both are lacking a place called Home.
"From now on you will be Sue Olivia De Morse and your older brother is Dominique De Morse both of you are my children." I said giving them a smile.
I brought them at my house and introduce them as my daughter and son.
"Welcome young miss and master." The head servant said.
"Welcome children." Isaac smiled at them.
He was the head of the household when I'm not around Isaac is actually my husband. His family was a loyal partner of the Weighs. His father is the head of white knights Sir Albert De Morse. Our parents died while they were heading at the other kingdom for business matters but the strong storm wreck the ship they were in.
"Isaac please take care of them and provide them everything they are now our treasures." I said while looking at the two eating afternoon snacks.
"I'm finally at ease to see that the house won't be empty anymore." Isaac said tapping my right shoulder.
I hold his hand at my shoulder and nodded.
"You are right." I replied.
"The butler who ate marmalade." I said while reading the title.
I'm currently at the attic and found an old book while checking my old stuffs for Dominique to use.
Earlier I found a very interesting attitude about Dominique.
"What did you bring Dominique? I noticed you brought some stuffs with you." I said.
"Umh this." He said while showing me a bunch of chocolates?
"Where's your important stuff? Hold on is this all chocolates?!" I said while unpacking the boxes.
He's not kidding all of it was just chocolates!
I saw her face looking pale while looking at me.
"I-I'm sorry!" He said while covering himself as if I was trying to hit him.
I was too surprise on how he reacted, I felt my heart tightened on how scared he is.
I raised my hand and pat his head gently while messing his hair.
"Do you really love chocolate so much?" I asked in a jolly tone.
He was a bit surprise on how I acted but he's face suddenly lightened seeing I'm not mad at him.
Poor kid how can I be mad on this adorable attitude of his.
"Yes! I w-wasn't allowed to eat chocolates in-"
"Shhh don't think about it you can have anything you want just tell Isä okay?" I said giving him a warm smile.
Dom might look mature and stern but he is actually sweet and childish.
I smiled happily remembering him and almost forgot what I'm doing.
"Please take this out and clean them." I said to the servants.
They must be asleep now maybe I should check their rooms.
"Sue?" I called while knocking her room but I heard no response.
"They are in our room." Isaac suddenly said making me startled.
"Will you stop that." I said.
He grinned at me and spoke. "You're making yourself a busy body please take care of yourself too even tho we now have kids here."
I shook my head and smiled at him.
"Stop teasing me you are the one who's stubborn here." I answered.
"The kids are waiting I'll sleep in my room tonight." Isaac said and kissed me in the forehead.
His sweet and understandable as always.
I opened the door and saw Sue looking at the walls while Dom was lying at the couch.
"No wonder I can't find you both in your rooms." I said.
"Can we sleep here Äiti?" Dom asked.
"Of course I actually brought a book entitled The butler who loves to eat marmalade." I said and sat at the bed.
The two of them laid on each sides of the bed making me in between them.
"There once a butler who really loves to eat marmalade. He ate it in the morning, in the afternoon and evening." I said an flipped the book.
"Woah he must really love marmalade." Dom exclaimed.
"The butler has a weird taste." Sue added.
I smiled at them and continued reading.
"One day his master brought two different flavor the first bottle is chocolate. The second bottle was a strawberry jam and gave it to the butler to test his judgement." I said.
A sudden knock was heard and the door opened showing Isaac.
"Can I sleep here too? Oh and I brought these." Isaac said and raised a bottle of chocolate and strawberry jam.
"Come in Isaac you'll sleep in the couch." I said teasing him.
I saw him frowned and smiled again.
I noticed the two became silent while looking at Isaac.
"What did I do?" Isaac asked while eating marmalade.
The two laughed at him and said.
"I guess the butler still chooses the marmalade."
