Sue Olivia De Morse POV
Its been a while since I experience being comfortable with someone.
I laid in the bed and can't help myself but stare at the ceiling.
I was holding the ribbon he gave me earlier, I'll definitely keep this as a memory.
A sudden knock was heard in my door.
"My lady the marquis had arrived." Marina said.
I immediately stood up and ran downstairs.
"Äiti Welcome back!" I exclaimed and ran towards him.
"Oh dear my baby is so heavy." Äiti teased.
"I missed you so much äiti." I said.
"I missed you too." Isä replied.
"Sue let äiti take a seat first he must be exhausted from the long trip." Dom said pulling me away.
We decided to take our dinner first and talked about what happened when they were away.
"The crown prince came in our house and in the shop." Dominique said.
Äiti signed the servants to leave us and spoke.
"I received a letter from the prince telling he wanted Sue to be his royal assistant. What do you think Sue are you fine with this? It might be difficult to decline however Isä will do anything for you." Äiti said in a warm voice.
I look at Dominique's way who is getting serious but he didn't say any word.
Its possible to decline however, the prince mind is difficult to read he might used me if he has any intention towards the De Morse family.
I was already stuck on his web one move of the prince I'll be suck up.
"I can't say no to the crown prince." I answered.
"How about our shop? The pearl season is coming Sue we haven't met sir Gin yet." Dom answered.
"I met him already and thats one of the condition I hold for being his royal assistant." I answered.
"Well the offer is not bad it might help your business to boost Sue." Äiti added.
Sadly, thats not it Isä the prince was too good on his own.
"By the way äiti how is Isä?" Dominique asked.
"I haven't receive any letter yet but I know he's fine at Cordovia. They are currently experiencing drought and famine that's why your father and the other knights where send to help them." Äiti explained.
It must be hard for them I've been to the dry lands once the only thing that made me survive was the jujube trees and date palms.
Thats right! I don't think some of the people here have discovered about the jujube tree and date palm.
"Äiti does Cordovia has a jujube tree and a date palms? I noticed that those plants are in the dry lands." I asked.
"Yes I guess so why?" He asked.
"There is something I need to tell you." I said and explained everything.
Dominique offered to take me at the palace I got a feeling that he dislikes the prince.
"Sue how did you know about the jujube and date plants?" He asked.
"When I was exile from my own country." I said.
I really don't want to remember that horrible past.
"Its fine if your still not ready to talk about it I understand." Dom said patting my head.
"It helped me in times I'm having a hard time in breathing I just found out about it when I got desperate to live." I answered.
"Then I'll ask father to bring you a date palm's juice." He said.
Dominique is very considerate towards me he never tried to push me. He let's me do what I want its more like spoiling tho.
We arrived at the Palace and saw some knights and servants waiting outside.
"Greetings Sir Dominique De Morse and Lady Sue Olivia De Morse this way please." The head butler said.
The butler leads us to a large door and knocked.
"Your highness they are here." He said.
The door opened and showed sir Gin with the crown prince who is currently signing some papers.
"Greetings your highness the crown prince." We said.
"Please take a seat." Sir Gin said.
"It seems like you made up your mind Lady Sue." The prince said and stood up to sat in the other side.
"If I do have any other choice I rather not." I said.
I really hate this man in front of me.
"I approved the partnership of the De Morse and Worleitt do you have any follow up conditions?" The prince asked.
"I don't want to be indebted by the royal family that is enough as long as my family won't be affected." I said.
"Sue." Dominique signed me to stop.
"Its alright I actually like how straightforward Lady sue with her words." He said looking at me.
Tss.
"Lady Sue do you want me to take you at the spring?" Sir Gin asked.
"Sure but I guess his highness still needs me right sire?" I said glaring at him.
"Your not needed I'll be talking with your brother you can take him Gin. I might get infected with her attitude disease." He said grinning at me.
Attitude disease??!
"I so hate you." I mouthed.
"The feeling is mutual." He mouthed back.
I got so irritated and stood up to follow sir Gin I didn't even said goodbye.
"You hate Raizel that much?" Sir Gin asked.
"Raizel? Who's Raizel?" I asked.
He look at me in disbelief and he began to laugh.
"Seriously you are always laughing at me do I look like a funny person?" I frowned at him.
"I think so I was surprise that you didn't know the prince name." He said.
"Do I need to know? I better not." I said.
I really hate that man he's too full to himself.
"His highness name is Raizel Von Lochs the crowned prince of the imperial family. Please don't hate him Lady Sue the prince didn't want to be like that too." He said.
He don't want to be what?
"You mean to be the next King?" I asked out of curiousity.
"Yes." He replied shortly.
"If he don't want to be the king I still don't get it what's the connection with his attitude it seems normal tho." I blurted.
"He lost someone important to him because of being part of the royal family." He said.
I got speechless I judge him already because I hated people like him.
"Is that so." I said.
The truth is don't know what to say.
We are not close enough and I don't want to be involve with the crown prince.
"We are here." Sir said and opened the large greenhouse.
I was amazed by the place the moment when the door opened.
A lot of birds were flying around while some beautiful plants and flowers. Some small crystals were growing near the spring with different colors.
"This place is magical." I exclaimed in amusement.
"Thank you I'm glad you like it." He said.
"Are you the guardian of this place?" I asked.
"Maybe, the Worleitt posses this kind of power that runs from our blood. However, if I received any injuries half of this land losses its life." He explained.
Based from Isä words the pearl heir was just stuck in the palace to keep him away from danger.
"It must be hard for you stuck in the palace to protect this place." I said.
"The way you delivered your words feels sad, don't be I somehow manage to sneak out because of Raizel." He said giving me a warm smile.
"That guy? Its unbelievable." I laugh a bit.
"You really don't believe it well I can't blame you." He grinned.
After looking around the greenhouse.
"Let's eat have lunch at the garden." Gin offered.
We argued a bit earlier about calling names he said its fine to call him on his second name.
"Sure the garden must be nice." I said.
We walked into the hallway when a woman stopped in front of us.
"Sir Gin where is the prince?" She asked.
I look at the woman and noticed her diamond brooch.
"Greetings I'm Sue Olivia De Morse his highness royal assistant." I said.
I saw her look at me in surprise and stared at me from head to foot.
Srsly?
"De Morse? You must be the marquis adopted daughter." She said.
Got a problem with that? Tss.
"I'm his daughter." I said giving her a fake smile.
"Forgive me for that phrase you wouldn't be offended with that right? I'm Astrid Le Vaint the prince fiancé." She said glaring at me.
How feisty.
"Oh the 2nd prince fiancé?Congratulations Lady Astrid." I exclaimed.
I heard Gin laughing so hard hearing what I said and saw Lady Astrid's angry veins. The servants beside her was also shocked on what I said.
"Excuse me? I meant the crown prince!" She exclaimed in anger while glaring at me.
I catch a glance on the incoming emperor and immediately acted innocent.
"Forgive me Lady Astrid I didn't know that its the crown prince." I said while holding myself not to laugh.
"You should be! How dare you-"
"What are you doing Lady Astrid." Äiti interrupted holding her hand.
So she was about to hit me how vulgar!
Gin and I greeted the emperor while Lady Astrid was still shock.
"S-she provoked me!" Lady Astrid exclaimed pointing at me.
"Forgive me for this commotion your highness I was apologizing from Lady Astrid when this suddenly happened." I replied on my knees.
I must act innocently!
"How could you lay a hand of my daughter she's sick and weak its impossible for Sue to offend someone like you Lady Astrid unless she was harassed." Äiti said and releases her hand.
"Sir Caesar explain to me what happened." The Emperor demanded.
"We were about to have our lunched when Lady Astrid arrived she offended Lady Sue as the marquis adopted daughter. Lady Sue was apologizing for she mistook her as the 2nd prince fiancé." Gin explained.
Gin saved my life I was a bit nervous knowing that she was the duke's daughter.
"Forgive my daughter his highness she was unaware about the engagement at the time you announced it she was under treatment." Äiti explained.
"You disappointed me Lady Astrid to think that you are the future Empress yet you have this kind of vulgar attitude towards someone who is inferior." The emperor said looking disappointed.
"Your majesty thats not true-"
"Are you telling me that my judgement is wrong?" The emperor asked.
"N-no your highness I dare not." She said in fear.
"I'll let this pass and let you reflect however, the next time you commit another fault from Lady Sue I'll take you down from being the future empress." The emperor said.
Poor thing.
"Your majesty I'm fine and I don't hold any grudge towards Lady Astrid it was also my fault for being ignorant please forgive her." I said.
"Stand up child you've been on your knees for a while knowing that you have an illness it might trigger due to stress." The emperor said.
This guy was too kind than his grandson.
"Thank you your highness." I said.
"If I'm not mistaken the two of you were about to take your lunch how about joining us in the dinning room." The emperor said.
Äiti seems worried and was beside me the whole time.
"Are you sure you are fine?" Äiti asked looking at me.
"Don't worry Sir Riché I'll be with Lady Sue and watch for her." Gin said.
"Sir Gin was right Äiti you are worrying too much." I said.
Dominique will definitely nag at me hearing about this.
We were currently at the dinning room waiting for the food when the crown prince arrived with my brother.
They greeted the emperor and Lady Astrid on the other side who is currently uncomfortable.
The Prince seated beside Lady Astrid while my brother sat beside me.
"I heard from sir Isaac that both of you are handling a jewelry shop and beverages." The emperor said.
