Chereads / Lend Me Your Hand / Chapter 2 - Chained hands

Chapter 2 - Chained hands

Marina was aloof at first but later on she became lively and helpful to me.

She kept her promise to be on my side and did not dare to disappoint me.

"My lady did you create that spiral necklace?" Marina asked which made me startled upon hearing her voice from behind.

"Yes I admire this creation because its the only thing that reminded me of that stranger." I said while looking at the paper.

"That man sure is your knight in shining armor my lady you two would probably look good-"

I broke the pencil upon hearing her words making Marina stop from talking.

Its been a while and she knows the temper I have and how I deal with it.

"I'm so sorry my lady this mouth of mine have gone overboard please punish me." She said while on her knees.

I sighed and closed my eyes to calm myself I don't want to here anything related to love.

"Stand up Marina you are still ignorant about my attitude and actions so I do understand for now." I said in a serious voice.

"I swear my loyalty to you my lady I won't object nor complain." She said.

"Good, we are heading to the town shops I need to look for something." I said and get myself ready.

In order to regain my power and avoid being look down and mocked by those kind of people. I need to get back where I should be regrets were already hunting me every night.

If I don't want to continue this kind of living I need to change it for good.

We've been to several shops already but I felt like something was lacking.

As I was on a deep thought I notice a young man staring at the window of the silver fang shop.

I walk near him and spoke. "The chains are interesting."

"Yes they are every length and designs are impressive to me." He said while scanning the built of the display.

I took out my design and showed him, I saw his eyes sparkle the moment he's attention was caught by the paper.

"Excellent but I could suggest if the chains will be different this would be better if it is a rope chain. This design would probably for a man am I right? If it is over the shirt I'll recommend 26-30 inches." He said while smiling at me.

"Its an honor to meet someone who has such talent." I said.

I saw him a bit surprise and fake a cough.

"Why do I feel you are testing me." He said.

"For a commoner like me I doubt if I have the right." I said.

"For a mere commoner to have a slave is quiet suspicious." He added.

"And for someone who is not allowed to enter the lower class area you are good at hiding yourself." I said while giving him a head to toe stare.

"I give up you are a sly one what do you want from me?" He asked.

"Not just the eye but also clever Sir-"

"Dominique Al Verdi." He said while lowering his head.

"Sir Dominique I adore your talent I'm Olivia Moresque would you mind if we get inside?" I said.

He agreed and followed me inside the Silver fang shop.

The place was filled with silver and gold which shines beautifully by the glimpse of sunlight.

"Silver, gold and white gold and many more that will definitely emphasize your ideal necklace." Dominique said while pointing at the metals.

We sat at the couch while Domique was showing the other types of metals used for accessories.

Now I finally came up with an idea and I hope it will work now that I found someone who have the same interest.

"You are quiet knowledgeable with this Sir Dominique and I was deeply impressed I was thinking to create a jewelry business." I said passing the thoughts at him.

"A business? Are you sure about that my lady business is pretty handy." He said in surprise.

Based on his expression he is indeed hesitating by the idea I have.

Women are only heads of the household while Men are the head regarding business.

"I understand the hesitation and especially that I dropped it directly at the table Sir Dominique. But, I would take the risk for this idea you can doubt me but I can prove it to you. You can think about it for days before giving me a proper answer." I explained to calm his senses.

He thought for a minute and look at me directly in the eye.

"Very well I'm all ears." He said and leaned at the couch.

A suddenly came out from the other door while telling orders from his assistant.

"Throw the left out pieces of leathers it would no longer be useful now that I have finished the owners suit." He said.

Based on his outfit and words I guessed he was a tailor who designed clothes for a living.

I stood up and walk towards them I could feel Sir Dominique's gaze towards me waiting for my next move.

"Good day Sir but could you sell me those left out leathers to me? How much would it could be if I wanted to buy it?" I asked.

The tailor and his men were a bit surprise from what I have said.

"Dear are you sure about that? this is no longer useful what could it be that makes you think its still handy? However, looking at your serious expression I would gladly gave it to you for only a hundred pesos." He said and told his men to get it.

"Thank you Sir I would also like to negotiate with you if you still have more of left overs in your shop I would gladly take it name your price for one sack." I said.

I saw how his jaw drop even Sir Dominique stood in surprise he finally understood that I'm not messing around.

"Goodness! Let's have a seat mademoiselle." He said.

His men hand out the left overs to me, curiosity was written in their faces.

"Does anyone have a scissors?" I asked politely.

The tailor handed his scissors and watch closely.

I cut the leather through strips about 2mm, I look around and asked for Sir Dominique's flower pin. I removed my bracelet and grabbed the leather strip.

I used my round adjustable bracelet and hold the edge of the strip inside the hole. I tied the other edge beautifully in the edge of my adjustable bracelet. Then, I used another strips and knot it like a four centipedes until the last edge.

The pin I asked was made to be the last side pendant for the left edge of the strip.

"Done, Marina sit down on the floor you will be my muse." I said.

Marina followed my orders and I hold the left strip around her neck and put inside the hole.

"All of you must be confused why I used these stuffs. Let me enlighten you the weight of the pin made it hard to loosen up and the balance was created by the use of the bracelet measured as 17" from her neck where it was perfectly laid in the center. I called this "sided brooch" which is one of my designs by the use of leather." I said and smiled at them.

"Marvelous! I would gladly want to be part of your plans young madame you have proven me a brilliant design that captures my attention. Allow me to introduce myself don't call me Sir I am a lady by the heart Riché De Morse from the middle class tailors. I owned the Passioné Boutique at the silver street." Riché said.

"Thank you Madame Riché for the trust you have given for a commoner like me." I said.

I was right he is indeed a middle class noble he would be a great help to my upcoming designs the same goes to him.

It was indeed a win-win deal for both of us he isn't just a noble businessman yet has a great eyes regarding about business.

"The status aren't bases for the talent that I have seen within you Lady Olivia so ease yourself at me." Madame Riché said.

"You have proven your worth Lady Olivia I'll definitely think about it." Sir Dominique said.

"Dear let me give you this card both of you come visit my boutique tomorrow so we could talk about our upcoming partnership. Can I have this design Lady Olivia I'll make this a sign for the three of us." Madame Riché said with joy in his face.

Both of us nodded and waved our goodbyes.

"Are you okay Sir Dominique you seem a bit troubled." I said.

"Its just I can't believe I met someone like you and Madame Riché this land is filled with status and fame. Its rare to find someone who thinks we are all the same even tho we are different in status." Sir Dominique said.

"It depends on how you put it Sir Dominique a piece of advice your choice is in your decision, your fate is in your hands. I need to go now see you tomorrow Sir Dominique I'm glad to meet someone like you." I said and separates our path.

Dominique Al Verdi what kind of person are you?

"You are showing me like your hands were chained to decide."

The next day I saw a carriage at the front of Silver Fang shop and a coachman approached me.

"Lady Olivia Moresque?" He asked.

"Yes." I answered and got inside the carriage with Marina.

"My lady is it fine that I'll follow you at the middle class area?" Marina asked.

"Don't worry it will be fine." I replied reassuring her.

The Kingdom of Philopia has different sectors the noble palace was at the North side of the kingdom. The West side are owned by the 1st class area where rich folks that are born with silver spoon. The East is where the Aristocrat family and Nobles live.

The center of the kingdom are where the middle class live they are the area of the fruit bearing businesses. The south border is the main entrance of Philopia Kingdom where merchants, traders and travelers met.

It was famous in town where all the different status are allowed to meet.

On the half side of it are where the commoner's prohibited or not only middle class people are able to visit this area for their business. The rest are allowed but they didn't even dare to come at all.

We arrived at the gate where a knight look at our window, I showed the card which made him sign to raise the gate.

As soon as we passed the gates I was amazed to see that a lot have changed in the middle area.

But my smile fades as soon as we passed at the Isvicht's Hatery business.

It was already ruined and filled with wooden planks and dirts.

My hands started to tremble but I manage to hold my umbrella to calm myself.

We arrived at the Passioné where Madam Riché is waiting outside.

I took out the mask and wears it I need to hide my face so that I wouldn't be recognize by anyone.

"Dear Olivia you had come welcome!" He exclaimed and let us in.

The place was elegant his designs are great and I think I'll be running out of compliment on how good is madame Riché. I heard from Marina that he was one of the tailors that are praised by the royal family.

"Thank you for the warm welcome Madam Riché I was breathless due to amusement in your creations." I said.

"Your complimenting me to much but what are you wearing at? I thought you are only using those shabby clothes for hiding your identity." He exclaimed.

"Forgive me madam but this is just my usual wear I'm only a mere commoner." I explained.

"Oh my you poor soul now that we are bond I wouldn't allow you to wear that Allison! Grabbed the latest design and wrapped it for Lady Olivia. Change her outfit right now!" He said.

"I t-think its f-fine madam-"

"Don't worry dear I'm your fairy godmother its my duty to make you my cinderella." He said in a joyful tone.

"I guess I can't change his mind." I thought.

The servants were rushing and a beautiful lady smiled and showed me the way.
