As the days go by slowly with Percy helping in his own way, HM makes me train harder than I ever have. A few months after I got back to America after leaving Berlin years ago, I stopped exercising. Now it's like she's trying to make up for all the years of exercise and training I've missed.
Every morning we run from the warehouse to the train station and back, twice. Then the rest of the day is spent in the gym on the ground floor. From weights, to punching bags, to sparring. We did it all.
Dee and HM help me sharpen my throwing skills – daggers, throwing stars, the whole thing. Dee's skills are scary good. She reminds me of Ven. She was 4 years younger than me and the first person to talk to me after joining the academy. She felt more like a baby sister than a fellow delinquent. Hearing that she died after I left still hurts.
"Are you sure you know how it's spelt? Can't you check again?"
