Chapter 11 - Death is hereditary and… incurable.

"Did you heard?"

"Yes, it was impressive, the Medic Wizard of Forth was escorted inside the Palace this morning."

"Yes, I knew it, but why?"

"Some Palace servants said that he came to cure sadness."

"What?! How is that possible?"

"How would I know? I was so shocked when I heard that, that I immediately started to cry."

"Well, don't worry, you will be cured soon."

"…"

The Kingdom of Lith was fervently awake that day. The bustling stores and markets where the commoners shared their thoughts and news, the tea parties from the noble houses where refined woman liked to spread and create rumors, the clubs, and studies where men liked to disperse politics and manage their jobs, everyone was now talking about the news of the Palace.

A wizard of such caliber was something difficult to find and attract. They were known for being arrogant but powerful. Only kingdoms with great connections to the wizardly world, could hope for an audience with such men.

But, now the Wizard from Forth was inside of the Palace as an honored guest.

"Julian…" A handsome man was standing before the great childish King of Lith.

However, his hands were tied with a powerful knot in the back. He could use his magic to break it but he thought it would for sure ruin his style in front of the beautiful Queen Elisa, her long time crush.

" Darling." He smiled and nodded his head in a greeting. "Why did you bring me like this? I could have appeared before you with only one of your words, even more with only a smile on my picture and I will feel your love for me from afar. Don't need to tie me up, unless that… you like this kind of game."

"Off with his head!" The King couldn't contain his rage. The damn flirtatious man had always made passes at his beautiful wife, he couldn't tolerate it anymore.

"Darling!" Queen Elisa came to the rescue.

"But, he is being disrespectful."

"Stop it! Gosh… Druon we asked you to come here for a favor. I hope you can understand."

"I am sorry, darling, I can't."

"But… why?"

"Because I am tied of hands." He smiled slyly at the King on the side who hadn't given the order of untying him.

"I will order for you to be let go."

"In any case, I will only concede the favor if he asks me politely, like a civil person."

"Don't push your luck, you trickster." King Julian was breathing hard trying to cover his anger. Only that man could infuriate him like that.

"Oh my! Then I should go back to my country where I am at least respected."

Queen Elisa was about to kick the King for him to make an apology and quickly convince the cunning fox in front of them, but someone else beat them to it.

"Her Highness, Princess Anne." The guard announced in a powerful voice.

A cute little girl in a fluffy white dress entered making little sounds from her steps. Druon couldn't help but marvel at her sight. She was the whole image of her mother but with the eyes of her father.

"Anne, darling, what are you doing here?"

"Aunty, is this the man capable of granting my… cough… our country long term happiness?" Her cute voice could make anyone melt in sweetness and wizard Druon was not the exception.

After all, he was a follower of beautiful things and an admirer of attractive persons, and Anne for sure filled all of his requirements. Even more, she was the daughter of another of her long time cruses, he had many.

"Oh my! Is she the daughter of Evelyn?"

"Hello, sir." Anne made a careful bow on the head with her hands on her dress. Only elegance was transmitted from her. "Then… are you the one capable of curing my illness."

"Which illness, darling?"

"The most terrible of them all." She blinked her eyes in sadness.

The Wizard was now interested. He hadn't detected any kind of ailment in her little body. She seems to be a healthy and energetic little girl, with some minors allergies to dog fur, but that's all, nothing much. Even he was allergic but never care as he wasn't that fond of having pets.

However, it must be a truly powerful illness for them to capture him so savagely. He didn't know the knight capable of such feat, but for sure he was sent by that damn king Julian.

"You must know that many had tried to cure it but weren't able. Sir, I hope you can do it for the sake of humanity."

'This little girl knows her words.' Wizard Druon was a bit speechless by her antics. He was even more amused than before, he had found his soulmate in the shamelessness world.

"What is it, little darling? If I have the way, I will for sure find the answer for you."

"Allergy." She said in the most serious manner.

"Allergy?" He is now dumbfounded.

"Yes,"

"…" He gazed at the Queen and the King that now were looking at their cups of tea as if they were some wonder, even their little chats were about the magnificence on the painting on the cups. "I am out."

He used his magic and untied his hands without any effort. Then he made his way towards the exit but the voice of the little girl from before stopped him in his tracks. There was not sweetness this time but a dreadful feeling creeping on his back.

"Oh my! Are you leaving so early?" she said, then with a clap of her hands, some knights appeared from behind the columns. "Callum," she called and the mighty knight with red eyes also came into the view. He had always been there but nobody noticed.

"You!" Wizard Druon recognized the man instantly, he was the one responsible for his awful humiliation in his Kingdom.

"You know, Wizard," Anne began to walk slowly to his front while looking directly at his eyes. "There is another awful illness we all share, but I believe you will never able to cure. Do you want to know?"

"Wha... what?" For the first time in many years, he finally felt scared.

"Death," a small smile was creeping from her beautiful face. "You know death is hereditary and... incurable, even for you..."

He wanted to scream that very moment but only could faint. That day will be known as the day Wizard Druon changed sides to the Lith Kingdom. How wonderful.
