Chapter 8 - #008 Chapter VIII New Life

In a split second Bei Zhen protected me and my newborn child, however my body told me I wasn't quite finished yet. In the struggle between the Kings of Hell Four through to Nine I lost my hold on my son as my second child began to take my energy.

"You are just saying that," I said rejecting Bei Zhen in hopes that he would understand that I wasn't prepared for courtship.

"When the time comes I will remain by your side so I may get the first chance at eternity with you," Bei Zhen said seemingly putting that subject to rest.

"Thank you I'm sure I'll appreciate it," I said sad that I was waiting for a moment like this to find my eternal partner and instead the chance of a lasting first live I had a monster steal my first carnal pleasure and first child. I sighed and began getting to work on plans for when I would give birth so that the Heavenly Realm would be secure even while I would be vulnerable.

Then after a month and a half of me maintaining peace I began to feel the first signs of going into labor. When my cries of pain were being carried through the Heavenly Realm, a breach was opened from the mortal realm and the Demon Realm used it to attack.

I was walking out of my bath when I felt a sharp internal pain. I began to experience contractions and I summoned my strength to be able to be calm while I distributed orders

and when my water broke Bei Zhen had just arrived. 'I needed him and he appeared' I thought internally thanking him for being reliable. I began to fall over as my body flooded with pain, Bei Zhen caught me and as he cradled me I started seeing stars unable to focus with the pain.

I awoke after the midwife arrived and I ordered Bei Zhen to maintain the court. "I'm a High Immortal, what could go wrong," I told him. I had minimal complications through giving birth but I could feel the energy I had draining faster. After struggling in labor for almost twelve hours I gave birth to a very beautiful son. I still felt pain but seeing my newborn child I was happy. I created a new life and my child was born almost normal.

My son looked normal but his skin felt icy to the touch. His heart beat was slightly slower but his crys were very loud and powerful. I was observing what I could of him when I was hit with a new wave of pain. Someone had just blew away the company I had.

I was exhausted from giving birth but I stood up cradling my son to my chest and began to survey the area. I made sure the midwife was okay before making my way towards outside.

The tree was beginning to bloom but no fruits were present so I assumed I was going to be okay. I went to check around my room and was shocked to see Kings of Hell Four, Five, Six, not Seven, Eight, and Nine.

As Four moved closer to me I clutched my baby closer to me hoping the protective properties in the bracelets wouldn't have to keep us alive. I walked back to room as quickly and quietly as possible. I used my cultivation to place a shield on my child, I decided to name him Nian Xiang and wrote it into the magic if my shield.

'There,' I thought to myself, 'time to go do my job and protect the Heavens,' I said as a tear escaped from my eye, I kissed my son on his forehead and left him snuggled with midwife.

When I was outside the Kings split up Four and Five headed towards me dragging a bounded Seven with them. Six, Eight, and Nine were going in the direction of where I left my son. In my panic I bolted from the danger in front of me and attacked the unsuspecting Kings going towards my son.

Foolishly having turned my back to them Four and Five dropped Seven and dissapeared. I managed to cast Six aside with a burst of power and I used my wings to generate powerful surges of wind to send Eight and Nine sprawling in difference directions. I rushed to gather my son from midwife and began to run too drained to teleport.

In the confusion Seven escaped his bindings and came after me. I didn't know where I was running but I ran and managed to teleport myself to the Eighth heaven. My body had been aching but I could tell I wasn't just in after birth pain anymore. Pushing myself I collected as much of myself as I could and I jumped down to the Seventh heaven.

My goal was to run to Zheng Zhi and seek common ground but my body sent a wave of mind numbing pain and I stumbled down towards the crystal lake instead. Seven caught up with me and was pulling my child towards him. I summoned my sword and managed to slip me and son away from him.

I gave myself a one step distance but Seven knocked my sword from my hand with his own sword. Defenseless, tired, and in ever growing pain I turned so that when Seven's sword came crashing down I would take the hit to my back. Instead I heard the sound of clashing swords. Bei Zhen had come to my rescue. In doing so he was pursued by the other Kings and a bigger brawl began.

In a split second Bei Zhen protected me and my newborn child, however my body told me I wasn't quite finished yet. In the struggle between the Kings of Hell Four through to Nine I lost my hold on my son as my second child began to take my energy. I fell backwards and my son rolled away from me. He landed under the closest tree that wasn't more than two feet from me but I couldn't reach him.

Me reaching for my son while my body was trying to push out a second child left me in a vulnerable position. Seven caught sight of his opportunity and began making his way towards my son. The Heavenly guard had joined the fight but it took a hundred of them to push one of the Kings back.

I was gathered up by Bei Zhen and he began to go towards my son when Four sent us flying into the sensitive area above the mortal realm. Falling into the mortal realm in such a manner I hoped that my child would survive if I didn't.

"Bei Zhen," I whispered as we began to fall, "save my child," I requested as we fell. Unable to be sure of my survival I drained all of my power into protecting the child in my womb and the man who would protect them. I began to fade from consciousness when we struck the ground of the Mortal realm. I blacked out.

In an out of body experience I saw that my body was still moving. I saw Bei Zhen stand and look around confused. He seemed to understand that I needed help. I felt the memory of everything but my child leave me as I focused on staying. I watched as Bei Zhen began to help my child be born. The pain dragged me back into myself and I barely audibly gasped out in pain.

Bei Zhen craddled my child to his chest as he used his outer mist robe to swaddle the child in. I lost memory of the Heavens, my life, and of anything but the pain, my child, and the man who saved us.

I fell into a coma and for the first two months of my child's life I was just there. I was cared for the savior and eventually I was able to wake up. I didn't know who I was, or who he was, but I knew that the child was mine.
