Before the dawn of civilization, both humans and animals had a very, very close bond with nature and it's elements. Some say these wonders were formed by a higher power, others have their own theories to back their ideologies. But what if these beautiful things were not created by either in this world. What if it was created by Someone, an entity which cares for "her" creation and feels a bond with them and if one of these creations are destroyed, this entity slowly dies or becomes weaker.
Indeed in this this world, there is the existence of this magnificent queen and her name is Gaea.
She created nature and it's beloved elements namely; Fire,Water,Earth and Air.
Soon after humans started to sprout out, grow and prosper, they learned to respect this Goddess of nature and established statues and temples to glorify her and her glory
But, after the start of the fifth era of civilization, Humans developed their own forms of tools and energy.... even artificial elements! Gradually they started forgetting about the Goodness of Gaea, becoming completely ignorant about her handworks. Later on, The people considered as geniuses made up their own theories disputing the fact that Gaea existed.
Out of rage, she took away her glory from these ungrateful humans.
Right after the end of the fifth era of civilization, a terrible incident occurred. The energy needed to create new technologies and elements became too much causing the only Neuro-electronic power turbine to explode, then causing a nuclear explosion, eradicating almost all human life.
Only one Man and his family who never left their well fortified house survived this terrible incident.
Looking outside, seeing the disaster that had befallen on all humans,
He decided to head to the only temple of Gaea remaining; which was in ruins, to beg Gaea to restore the world. His wife and 12 children tried to warn him about the danger of radiation exposure when he goes out but he ignored them all and set off.
In every step on the way, the poor man felt as though he was going to collapse at any moment.
The radiation was too severe, his skin started to turn green.
Luckily, before he almost died, he finally got to the ruined temple of Gaea.
With the strength and stamina left in him, he dashed with full speed to the Sacred chamber where a statue of Gaea gracefully stood.
"Goddess of Nature, Eternal Mother of love, I come before you as a humble servant to plead with you to restore my land", the man prayed, in a trembling voice.
After he spoke these words, the statue began to shake vigorously with flashes of Red, Blue, Green and White rays of light. The statue then started to crack. After fully cracking, Gaea gorgeously emerged from it.
"It's been a while one of your ungrateful, filthy kind has come to me to ask of a favor, oh.... of course, they neglected me after the God of knowledge gave them the knowledge of creation to spite me. What do you want, my child, and hurry, for I don't have time to spare". She said, in a harsh, scornful tone.
"Please, I didn't mean to disturb you, all I wanted was my land to be restored". The man uttered while lying prostrate, in a sober tone.
"Oooh, I see, So you want me to now restore your land after you humans disrespected me and neglected me, destroying my temples and my creations. Fascinating!". Her eyes flared as she spoke.
"Oh Mother, Although when humans disregarded you, I never did. In fact I always glorified you day and night, and always worshipped at your temples".
As he said these words she looked into his heart and saw he was not lying.
"Alright, my faithful child, Your wish shall be answered. But, I won't make you humans repeat the same mistake again. Oh no no no, Now your generation and your new era will have a soul bond with me... with nature and will each have an affinity for each element. Now, if any of the elements they have an affinity with get destroyed or depleted, or even exploited, they will feel a sharp, never ceasing pain in their heart and soul until it seizes".
The man, hearing his wish will be answered leaped with joy, not caring about the soul bond and affinity crap.
"Oh one last thing", Gaea said, " Take this Sphere. It will indicate the element one has an affinity with, and their power level with that element when one's hand is placed on top".
"Why power levels", the man asked.
"It doesn't matter", Gaea replied.
The sphere levitated in the air and moved to where the man was. It then stopped in mid air and fell down to where the man was. He quickly caught it and after bowing down to Gaea, turned to leave.
But as he was close to the exit he stopped in his tracks and shouted, "Right, my name is Noel Right".
He then left the temple.
When he was outside, he couldn't believe his eyes. Trees had grown back, Water had sprouted from the ground, animals started to appear. Taking a deep breath of the restored fresh air, he said to himself, "Everything is back to normal, but more beautiful."
Meanwhile back in the temple, while Gaea was about to disappear back to her realm, a shadowy figure emerged from the ground. It was an actual shadow which had taken the form of a human
"You forgot to tell him", the shadowy figure said, in a cheery, devious voice.
"Tell him what?", Gaea questioned
"Please don't tell me you have forgotten, I won the bet we had. So, I get one of that man's offsprings, meaning that, that offspring doesn't belong to you '𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘯𝘥 ' that offspring won't have a soul bond with you". The shadowy figure briefly explained, with a grin on his face.
"Oh.... that....".
That is how this new world came forth. With some regions having a medieval style, some with advanced technology and technological buildings and others a mixture of both and all preserving nature.
And with almost everyone being... an elementalist
