Opened windows, Fine waving curtains, Scattered dresses all over the Bedroom, Some peeping from the wardrobe.
Jed laid on his bed, awake, staring at the golden-plated ceiling. He had completely forgotten that today was the most significant of them all.
Jed; a boy of 16, came from a royal family; since they were direct descendants of Noel Right. They lived high up above the clouds which separated the royals from the peasants. Most of his family members were Air elementalists and showed signs of it right from birth, but, surprisingly Jed never showed any sign of his element. It didn't bother his family though and his father; Lentil, used to say, "no one knows the start of a great man".
Although most royals were decent, loving people, Jed was nothing like them. He was short-tempered, a 'cry baby', and always had mood swings. His good looks and bright white teeth always deceived many. He was the best example for the saying, "Don't judge a book by is cover," or even "All that glitters is not gold."
Jed was awake two hours ahead of the time his alarm rang, and he didn't know the reason why he was so excited today, why he felt this burning sensation in his heart. Right after, his 'Eleliom' alarm started to ring. As he went to stop it, he finally realized what day today was.
"Mom, Dad, TODAY IS THE DAY! TODAY IS THE DAY I KNOW WHAT ELEMENT I CAN CONTROL!". He exclaimed these words as he slid down the staircase railings with his legs and leaped right down to the living room and run straight to the kitchen where his parents were seated, taking their breakfast. His break fast was already on the table.
"Son, I hope you're ready for this day. This glorious day! I hope you'll be an Air elementalist like me". Jed's father said, patting him on the shoulder
"Oh please, we all know he took my charming characteristics", his mom boasted with her cheery voice. "Obviously he'll be a Water elementalist like me".
"[Ahem] You could be right... but son, no matter the element you have, or power ranking you get, you'll always be my son and I'll always treat you like one, as well as your family". Jed smiled after he heard the words his father said.
"Alright, I'm done", Jed said as he pushed his plate forward.
"Oh I almost forgot , Jed, can you follow me to the royal palace, the king wants to see you... As well as the council". Jed's eyes widened with excitement as his father spoke these words.
He always wanted to follow his father to the royal palace ever since he was young. But his father always told him he was too young to follow him. Now that he was 16, he could go with him anytime at all.
Jed's father was part of the council, which consisted of the 12 families; with each of the four different elements, that were directly descendants of Noel Right. Although there were four elements, there were different ways each family materialized and used them in according to their various properties.
Lentil's brother as well was king of the capital of the world, which had an equal proportion of each element.
Jed had already worn his clothing and so had his dad. They then kissed Sophia; Jed's mom and lentil's wife, on the cheek and left their home.
Outside, there was a golden pavement that lead straight from their home to the palace. These pavements where built on clouds, as well as any other building above the clouds.
Jed had never been below the clouds and always wondered how it looked like below.
They followed the golden pavement and made their way to the palace. The palace was a mixture of Japanese, European and African architecture, with Gold, Diamond and Platinum as the materials used to build it.
As soon as they got to the entrance, they didn't need to knock or shout. Once the king had a spiritual connection with someone close by, the guardians were alerted to open the gates.
"Lentil, my sun and my guide, What's up." The king greeted as he used his Air element ability: Grappling Hands of Ares, to bring them closer to his throne.
"Hi there.... Levi. Where is the Council". Lentil responded.
"Don't be so hostile Lentil, I'm your brother, the youngest in fact. Also the council is on a break and—" Levi paused. "I can see you brought the little one".
"Indeed". Lentil replied.
Levi then levitated from his throne to where Jed was, staring at him and hovering around him.
"He sure looks like you". Levi coughed. "What's your name, nephew".
"Jed... Jed Right, Sir" Jed squeaked
"No need to be scared and formal with me", Levi laughed. "Ooh I forgot, Guardian number two, please come forth".
An ash skinned, tall and built man came forward and bowed down.
"We are heading to the capital. Bring the the sphere of Gaea" Levi commanded
"Yes sir", the guardian obeyed.
"Oh and one last thing. When you bring it, use your secret family technique". Levi added.
A minute later, the ash skinned guardian was back with the sphere.
"Alright everyone, hold hands". The king ordered. "Alright, Ashy, do your thing".
The guardian's eyebrow twitched after hearing what the king called him.
He then did the technique the king told him to with the sphere in his right hand.
"Fire lapse: Time skip". He chanted.
Suddenly a tornado of fire surrounded them. Within the tornado a fire portal opened. The portal looked like a wormhole of some sort. It then started sucking them in. As soon as they were sucked in, the tornado disappeared.
When Jed opened his eyes, they were standing in the holy sanctuary of Gaea, facing millions of people.
The sanctuary was where this Significant Ceremony was hosted.
"Ladies and gentlemen". The king shouted as the guardian placed the sphere on the alter in front of them.
"We are all gathered here today to witness the Significant Ceremony which was conducted right after our hero and savior, Noel Right died. But first, before any other child places their hand on the sphere, I want my nephew to place his hand on it first. Jed, come forward to the alter and place your hand on the sphere" the king explained.
Jed did as he was he was told and walked towards the alter.
He took a deep breath and said to himself, "Here goes nothing".
He then raised his hand and placed it on the sphere.
Every one was surprised at what they saw and heard
Even Lentil and Levi. But no one was as shocked and stunned as Jed was....
