Chapter 11 - Chapter 11: Disbelief of the bond

"Again, I'll admit I like her but I wouldn't say this is a bond. I shook my head in disagreement set to have my way. "However, I will need to let her go at some point once she is settled. And your right, I will need to approach this differently. Not sure if I'll do it in the way you stated but somehow. I'll figure out how best to deal with her."

Sighing, Mike tried explaining firmly. "You are too worried about attachments to her it seems." He asked, "why chase after her at this point?" Almost challenging Cory on what he feels. "We can all see you're already getting attached. I feel this could very well be a bond."

With no emotion, I stubbornly said. "This isn't a bond, it's most likely just some kinda infatuation with her is all. I only want to know why she has these traits. The fact that she is so intriguingly unique is why I want her back so badly. She's been sheltered all her life. She'll most likely be captured by a scavenger. Who would sell her at the market after they were done torturing her. So why let her escape for another hybrid-man to own such a unique beautiful hybrid-woman as her? Whenever she could be owned by me to work in my Kingdom." And I boldly asked them.

"It's showing you care Cory. There isn't anything wrong with feeling something for her. If you don't give her to us to be placed in her service at some point. You may never be able to let her go. Honestly, I see a bond in development here." Mike stated.

I stayed silent for a brief moment. To think and even questioned if what Mike was saying could be true. Is it already getting to that point of it being too late with letting her go with Mike and Matt for placement?

I never cared for anyone, unless I am close to that person. If my closest friends are seeing this, surely my family will too. They would welcome her regardless of her being a slave. My Uncles would be the only pain. No.No.No.

I won't allow myself to go this far. She will just stay as a personal servant to me just as Cookie has been with my sister. So I will push what I feel aside. If this is a bond, I can disconnect before it becomes too late. Perhaps, it could even be an obsession.

Everyone just sat there in silence waiting for me to speak. They knew I was in deep thought. This is what made me wise and powerful. My Elders told me this since I was mostly mellow. I handled all situations carefully and first processed the problem mentally. If I was ever drawn to anger they knew my limit had been pushed. I hardly ever yelled at my men and tolerated mistakes fairly well.

If something didn't get done right I always looked to my best Highest Ranker men. Which are my closest friends that I grew up with me. But I was even closer to my six Primaries, being my absolute best pals. I knew they'd never fail but I always gave my other men in the Kingdom a chance to prove themselves to get a better rank and higher payment. If they weren't a Highest Ranker.

"If I can't let her go then she will be my personal servant. There is no way, I will allow myself to form a bond with her." I said strongly looking at them.

My friends just looked at me with this weird smile. They knew I felt something for the woman and listen to my excuses for keeping her near me.

It is odd to even question if I do feel something strangely good for her. I always had a cold wall up with hybrid-women. Never allowing anyone close to me.

My friends knew I have been debating with myself about taking Rachel as my wife at some point. She was the only Princess that was staying in my extra rooms to shut her up. I didn't stay with her but I did hang out with her more, and socialize with her the most compared to the other princesses, I was currently courting. More often, I am distant from her too.

Not too many of my men are thrilled about her. I can't blame them for that because she is such a spoiled pampered girl. I made it worst because I have a horrible habit of giving her all she wanted just to shut her up.

But I didn't love her. Which is why I considered making her my bride. Over the sure fact, I have no feelings or true care for her. She'd only be viewed as a breeder to me. Like how most hybrid women are viewed within these worlds.

Other than that, she was just worthless to me in my opinion. Likely she'd be an awful mother. Anymore, I am just getting bored with her and sick of all her whining with constantly wanting something from me.

"Well, whatever you do is up to you. Think about it, a slave girl as Primary Queen would be far better than Rachel." JJ spoke up and broke the silence.

"Rachel knows the Kingdom well and she has a high chance of birthing me a son. If I would consider a bride at some point for offspring. My enemies may one day have sons if some don't already. So I might need a son in my future. But again this isn't something I fully consider. Not loving her would play a huge benefit to my enemies with no weakness there to be found. Being able to tolerate her might be a bigger question." I explained.

"Yeah, the first time she gets captured by one of your enemies! Mike laughed louder. "It would be like a vacation for you!"

Everyone laughed loudly at Mike's remake.

"It's a vacation now having no one hardly around at this mansion. I've been able to get some work done without any interruptions for the most part. Besides the woman running off. But that little mishap will be worked out shortly." I said çhuckling.

My phone then rang and I answered it quickly.

Grandfather called him back. "Grandson I see you called me about two hours ago. Sorry just been busy with things you know how it is." He asked, "anyways, what do you need their son?"

I replied, "I need to speak with you about a slave woman I have claimed from a Businessman owner. I will need to speak with you and possibly the Elders.'

Puzzled, Grandfather questioned, "about a slave girl?"

Confirming myself, "yes that is correct. There is something odd and off about her and I'd like to find some answers."

Still confused, Grandfather replied, "I see, well we can meet and talk in person. You could bring her if need be."

I sighed replying, "no, I think for now we will just talk. At the moment, I need to catch her again. She ran away. Probably by tomorrow, I'll have her back."

Now completely confused, Grandfather replied, "oh, well, that is fine, we shall talk soon."

We both hang up the phone after our talk. My friends just looked at me with a smirk on their faces. Ash and Hunter walked up to the patio and we looked their way.

Ash spoke. "We have an update with her location." So I give my nod and full ears, as he continued to say. "She crawled down on her stomach at the siding of the mansion and used the bushes to hide in. Then she ran off into the small patch of trees, from where she squeezed through the gate reaching the road and walked into deep woods across it. There is a blood trail from her bare feet and her footprints showed she has a four-hour head start."

"Thank you for the report," I said pleased.

Hunter informed, "but there is something oddly interesting." I nod to say I was intensely listening. Hunter added with a very off expression. "We determine she's running faster than what she should be. She should only be ahead of us by an hour not by four hours. Oddly enough, to say this but it seems as if she was running like she's having an adrenaline rush."

"And you wonder why I find her so interesting!" Boldly, I told my friends. "These aren't normal behaviors that a slave hybrid woman or any Ranked hybrid woman would have for that matter! Hybrid women don't have adrenaline! Adrenaline kills them! That's part of the reason why females are so much weaker than us Hybrid men. There helpless without us Hybrid men protecting them. If it wasn't for us to keep their unborns alive, females wouldn't even have children!" I was pretty stunned and in disbelief to hear this.

"Agreed, that is why once she is returned. I will run tests on her. But it could all just be the fact she was made in the Maternity Bio Factory. So someone may have been playing around with the genes more than it needed to be." Replied JJ.

I only looked at him and nodded.

"Good job!" I told Hunter and Ash. "This will make it easier for Nick and the other men in his division to retrieve her. Right after, he is done with the work, I've sent him and his Division to do for me." (who are from Nick's Division too.)

As they each oddly smiled at me. Hunter and Ash gave an appreciating head gesture and took a seat with us at the table. As I texted Nick all the information they have found.

Afterward, I said, "well, the suns will dim soon. Luckily, it won't be a dark phase for another few days or so. Unless by some odd coincidence she isn't like other women and the coldness don't even affect her."

"Won't that be funny if the cold didn't affect her? Or too bad the sun was only going dim if cold does affect her. She wouldn't be able to move much from the chill. It would be easier to get her." Matt stated.

I only nodded with agreement but said nothing after Matt's statement.
