It was a hazy day with rain pouring lazy, and Cole's never craved hot chocolate more in the four weeks of staying here than now but the problem was that he didn't fucking know where any cafeteria was as the food was always brought to him by normals around uni.
Cole considered asking Edward but thought it was better if he didn't so he went for the best option her thought was available; asking Noah.
Cole took brief steps through the corridor for normals, hands buried in his warm jacket as he huffed out, pink dusting his cheeks, cherry red around his nose.
It took a long ten minutes to get to Noah's dorm, the lack of company making the travel feel longer, Cole letting a sigh of relief as he finally reached.
Fuck, yeah. Finally gonna get my hot chocolate.
Cole twisted the knob open, not considering knocking as Noah asked him not to, told him to just burst through any time he wanted as Cole was one of the best kids ever, Noah only beamed when Cole whined out of embarrassment.
"Hyung, where in the fuck can I get hot chocolate around h—?" Cole's whines were cut short.
The privileged man's eyes widened, comical as his mind replayed what I'm the fuck he just saw—
To put it short, Cole had to walk in to Luke and a brunet making out and fuck, if Luke didn't look hot with his swollen red lips and hooded eyes and oh, his messed up hair and a trail of hickeys down his bobbing Adam's apple. Fuck.
Okay, what the fuck, Cole? Not the right situation to ogle at Luke and get yourself killed by the stupid government—
Well, it isn't wrong so to admire Mr. sex on legs here, is it? Also, it's not like the government will know—
Okay, both the angel and demon in Cole needed to just shut the fuck up because 1, Cole isn't okay, 2, This is awkward, and 3, Cole isn't okay, like Cole isn't fucking okay.
"Uh, C-Cole?" Luke gulped, scared.
Cole was sure he'd be scared too if he was in Luke's situation because one word from him would take away Luke's life. It was the law.
Cole did not score the best marks when it came to laws of the new world but he knew the basics; never ever go against rules of the Lord.
Leaders of the new world— reformists who succeeded, believed that the third world war was a warning from the Lord above.
Maybe it was pure truth, maybe it was pure manipulation to feed their need for power, guess the people will never know as they were broken, having lost so many people that kept them alive, and they wanted nothing more than hope— be it a false one or not, people needed it, hope, just a glimmer of it to at least not kill themselves right on the spot.
Cole was just confused as he'd never witnessed a scene like this. Luke must be so daring to risk his life for momentary pleasure, he thought because who would even risk their life for momentary pleasure? Definitely not Cole.
If only Cole knew it was deeper than that.
Cole's trail of thoughts were broken as he heard a small whimper that left Luke's lips, the other man nowhere around and Cole felt like fucking killing himself because he didn't utter a word and Luke looked petrified, eyes gleaming with unshed tears, anxiety transparent.
"D-Dun' worry, I won't tell anyone," Cole's voice wavered.
The elder man stormed out of the room due to how extremely nervous and awkward he was feeling and luckily, he bumped into the very person he has been looking for, for the past hour; Noah.
"Hyung!" Cole whined, distressed.
All Cole wanted was some hot chocolate and here he was, feeling extreme guilt eat him up for making Luke cry.
He looked ravishing like that though, so fucking stunning, Cole sighed.
He didn't know what this boy was doing to his poor heart but he sure knew whatever it was, wasn't healthy.
"Looking pretty bitter there, Cole. what's wrong?" Noah inquired.
"Get me some hot chocolate first. Please," Cole cried.
Both men walked to the cafeteria, impatient and Cole just wanted to get the guilt out of his system.
As soon as they ordered, they sat down in an empty spot, the hot beverage in their hands warming them up, Cole sighing in content.
"Hyung," Cole called out after taking a couple sips from his hot drink.
Noah hummed, distracted, before Cole whined like a little kid again, gaining the elder man's attention.
"So, uh, I kinda maybe walked in on Luke and a guy making out?" Cole's hesitation made it sound like a question.
Noah's eyes widened comically, mouth agape as he chocked out his coffee and the scene was so funny that Cole had managed to let out a giggle even through the guilt that coiled up his gut.
"C-Cole, you won't tell anybody, right?" Noah's words came out hushed.
"No— of course, I wouldn't do that, hyung!" Cole muttered.
Noah relaxed into the chair at Cole's words, hands running through his hair as he sighed, tense shoulders relaxed.
"But, I have a question," Cole blurted out.
The welcoming look on Noah's face softly coaxed Cole into putting his question in words, letting go of the hesitation he held through the conversation.
"Uh, why'd Luke risk his life for a, uhm, hookup with a boy?"
Cole looked up at Noah, meeting his eyes, sharp eyes catching onto the small change in the handsome male's face as his expression turned something akin to disappointment.
"It's something you should ask him, Cole, not me. everybody has different reasons for doing different things," Noah explained.
"Hyung, can I ask you something else?" Cole whispered softly.
Noah hummed again, not wanting to break the small bubble that formed around them after his words.
"I, uh, I know that's it's against the law to have sexual relations with the same gender but, h-hyung, I uh I find Luke really attractive? Is that abnormal?" Cole looked down at his hands.
"It's only normal, Cole, science says that all humans are bisexual or, at least that's what Luke told me. It's okay, Cole-ah, it's okay to find people of the same sex attractive, just— just make sure to never discuss this to any privileged."
Cole pondered over Noah's words for a few seconds, sighing again before looking at Noah with a look on his face that conveyed exactly what he wanted to convey— 'I have another question,' was what he tried to communicate with his puppy dog eyes and it only made Noah laugh, encouraging him.
"How does Luke know about science? isn't it like forbidden to even discuss about it?" Cole's eyes sparkled with curiosity.
"Again, Cole, this is a question you should ask him, not me, " Noah answered before he stood up, turning around with a small 'bye' accompanied with a warm smile leaving Cole to think.

(a/n: how do you think it's going so far? also, Cole mentions momentary pleasure cause love and feelings are so uncommon here that it didn't even cross his mind lmao )
