(Author's Note #0: This is just a prologue before Alex's life, so don't stress if you are confused)
2064, the Extinction of the Families
Throughout the world, monsters reigned. However, two large groups of humans were currently fighting against a seemingly endless stream of monsters. They were rapidly devastating the numbers of the monster army, with large AoE Spells as well as attacks. In particular, a duo, one wielding a black greatsword and one wielding an intricately designed white staff let loose two giant beams, one white and one black. In the army, a large gap had appeared but was quickly filled by the monsters behind. In return, the monsters retaliated with wave after wave of black flames, waves of mud, and countless streams of dangerously sharp icicles.
The duo looked at each other and they nodded. Suddenly, they became a blur, rapidly approaching the horde releasing the flames, mud, and icicles. The man wielding the greatsword swung it ferociously, vaporizing the waves of magic instantly. Meanwhile, the woman holding the staff stopped abruptly and waved her staff, generating a multitude of icicles, all aimed at the monsters. They shot towards them, instantly hitting various vital points in their bodies, assuring a one-shot kill.
A short time after they had annihilated this wave of monsters, the remaining monsters backed away. The humans let out a sigh of relief and started to return to the fallen empire of Luminara when they felt a tremor. Then another, and then another. They immediately returned their attention towards the forest where the monsters had backed up to when the trees burst into tiny splinters of wood and a colossal figure stood. The humans looked up in fear before having their head obliterated into tiny pieces of flesh.
"Kekekeke. Well, isn't this interesting. I would have doubted that some pitiful humans could kill one of my trusted generals, but he REALLY ISN'T HERE! Sinful humans, it seems that you are ungrateful for my lenience to not obliterate you with one of my thorns." the colossal figure said while extracting large sharp thorns from his pores. The thorns burst out at an extremely fast speed, hurtling towards various vital points in the soldiers of the human army.
"Argh!" the soldiers screamed in agony as thorns burst through their bodies and were embedded into the earth. Instantly, after they screamed, their bodies started to crumble into little pieces of gray dust. The only humans remaining were the man with a black greatsword and the lady with a white staff. The man was using a complex technique called Reflective Sword to swing his sword in a circular motion to block all of the incoming thorns.
The lady was casting a spell called Angel's Defense which generated a golden shield as well as two large white wings that slashed and jabbed at the thorns coming at her. Suddenly, the ground below her burst, and a thick black thorn pierced through her torso. Her body immediately turned into dust.
The man turned and roared in anger. However, in his moment of distraction, another thorn burst from underground and stabbed through his armor, disintegrating him as well. The colossal titan took his time to casually kill all the remaining humans while giggling like a little child.
Then, out of the blue, the titan felt a chill run down his spine. Murderous killing intent rose in the surrounding air.
'You bastard. I would have been fine if you had just killed me, but killing her and the rest of my friends?! That was out of the LINE!!' A large aura broke through the earth, and the dust that was the black swordsman coalesced into the shape of a human being.
"You damn Golden Monkey, show yourself and help me fight!" the swordsman yelled.
A monkey with gold fur appeared from thin air, shimmering. "Yawn, and what if I don't want to?" he said indifferently. "All you are is just my little plaything, and I could always save this world even if the monsters controlled the entire world. Do it yourself."
He shimmered away again, resulting in the swordsman's face becoming as red as a tomato. He glared at the remaining light particles that were the Monkey King, Sun Wukong before flipping his glare towards the colossal giant.
'On my name, Alex Cyatri, I will slay you and end the tyranny of monsters and myths.' the swordsman vowed silently, before stabbing himself through the heart with his sword.
" . . . Huh?" the colossal giant growled, confused. Suddenly, his eyes widened at the vast aura leaking from the sword wound. 3 seconds later, the entire warzone became how it was 50,000 years ago, full of life, nature, and beauty. This day was the downfall of the humans and monsters alike. However, in the time axis of the world, Alex's figure could be seen hurtling BACKWARDS, to roughly 15 years into the past. Alex saw just about everything during this time, but he missed one tiny fact; the woman was hurtling back towards the exact same time as him.
