His jet black hair covered his handsome face, and he pulled back his hair with his fingernails, smiling.
Mia did not realize she had been admiring his features. He had a concrete jaw, defined cheekbones and a hawkish nose. He had worn green cargo pants, and a cardigan that was unbuttoned at the top of his chest. The cardigan revealed his spruce masculinity. She understood why girls were crazy over him.
The dog interrupted them by barking, and they both came into their senses.
"Come in,"; Mia told him in a low tone. He respectfully removed his shoes at the entrance, and walked on his socks.
"I like your house, I see we are alone, where are we gonna learn?" He asked, scanning the house.
"In my room, its spacious enough to carry out this experiment" Mia answered, and her heartbeat increased when he said they were alone.
They entered the bedroom, and Toby followed them inside. "Clyde, let me get snacks for us," she said courteously with a faint smile. Toby napped on its bed, like the puppy he was. Clyde smelt the scent in her room, she literally smelled like lilies.
A short while, Mia came back with some snacks. Clyde observed the elegance in which she walked. She didn't realize she was manoeuvring with a seductive poise, like a model. Her long thick white hair landed on her full hips. He stared at her red plump lips, that Clyde thought them to be lilac soft, velvety eyelashes, dainty nose and pale glossy skin. 'Is she tempting me?Shit!! get hold of yourself Clyde,' his mind was in a heated debate.
"I like your dress," He blurted out, and the girl looked up with her rapture blue eyes. "Thank you, shall we start?" she said as she put the junk food near him to gobble it up.
They sat on opposite sides of her study table, mixing chemicals in a test-tube and writing the conclusions.
Clyde could not concentrate, he stole glances at the girl, who did not even spare him a glance. 'OK, she is so uninterested in me, or maybe she has a boyfriend, no, perhaps she is in love with Liam,' he thought to himself, and before he knew it, he spilled some reagents on his hands.
Mia saw it, and she quickly stood up, clasped his arm and drove him out of her room like a possessed woman. At the bathroom, she opened the tap and flashed cold water on his skin. "Oh no"..she trembled while rinsing his hand thoroughly, he smiled for finally having her attention towards him.
"Are you okay," she looked at the boy after no reply came from him. He was just staring at her, smiling. "There is nothing to smile about here Clyde, what if it was a poisonous chemical? You had me worried sick," she was relieved.
"Have you always been this cute?" he whispered to her, and she widened her miniature like eyes.
"I swear I shall pour more harmful reagents on my fingers if this is how you gonna act," Mia threatened. "But you look like a little munchkin when you look at me like that," He winked at her, and Mia stopped tending to his hand and frowned.
'Is he trying to flirt with me? Oh hell no!' she thought, brushing off the urge to blush and she lowered her gaze to him.
"If we are done with our studies you can go now," she acted bravely, looking away, but he didn't want to go.
"What if I want to spend the rest of my day with my little munchkin?" He lifted his right eyebrow.
"Don't call me that," she retorted.
"But you are so petite, like a little munchkin I can eat you up you know," he teased her more.
"I won't leave until you decide to spend your weekend with me at the park," was he being serious? Mia didn't like the idea since she wanted to avoid him.
"I can't, I promised Xander, I will spend the weekend with him after my studies," Mia blurted out with a lie, Xander was the only name she could come up with, to escape the situation she was in. But why him?
"Who's Xander?" he furrowed his eyebrows, and the smile that was lingering on his face fell.
"He's my b..boy...fr.friend," that one word made her stutter. Not only did she feel bad for lying at Clyde, but for also using Xander's name.
"Oh!! My little munchkin has a boyfriend," he exclaimed, seeming disappointed. "Okay, I..I will take you to him, where is he? I don't want you walking alone going to meet him. I will drop you off wherever without him seeing me, OK?" another big shock Mia had to experience, what had she done?
'He will find out I was lying,' she tensed.
"No, no, I can take myself there, just go home Clyde, thank you for coming," she crossed her fingers hoping he would buy the lies.
"No little munchkin, I will have to take you there whether you like it or not," he was being pigheaded, and Mia felt like punching him.
"Oh, ha ha, I remember, darn my puny brain," Mia slapped the middle of her forehead pretending to remember something, "I was supposed to spend time with Xander on Sunday, and today is Saturday, my bad."
His mood brightened, and he smiled once again. "Good so.. let's go," he grabbed Mia's small arm and pulled her. She locked the house and Mia was stunned to find a blue expensive car outside.
'Was this his car?' Mia was baffled, not that she had never seen such an expensive car, but because someone handed the car keys to Clyde. Of cause she was used to seeing Raquel's expensive car.
"Sir? Do you need anything else," a man with grey hair who had handed the keys to him asked politely.
"No, leave us alone, thank you," and the man went.
Clyde opened the car for Mia to enter, like a gentleman. Mia felt so uncomfortable by spending time with him, and being so close to him. It felt so wrong to hang out with a guy who had a girlfriend, whom they had the guts to make out at school.
Clyde started the engine, and drove it smoothly, he immediately started a conversation.
"Little munchkin, I need to know more about you, what's your age, but I can guess, 15? Nah, wait, a 15 year old doesn't have feminine features like you. You are too feminine to be 15, so, 16, right?" he grinned.
At this point, Mia didn't feel like arguing with him about that nickname.
"Yes, am 16, 17 next year, how about you? I guess 17?" Mia pretended, she just felt the guy was 19, but she didn't say it.
"Do I look 17 Mia? I think my biceps, muscles, and stripping height clearly says it all," he said, as a smile played on his lips.
"I am 19 years old," he said and Mia's eyes widened, she just guessed his exact age. "What is your favorite hobby?" he asked again, but he realized how the girl was uninterested in him. 'Maybe it was a bad idea to tell her my age.'
"I just like studying," Mia answered curtly, looking through the window. She was fascinated with the environment mother nature provided. She was also interested in how Clyde learned how to drive, but she wouldn't show it.
"Am I hotter than Xander?" Clyde asked, and his plan of bringing Mia's attention to him worked. She slightly opened her red plump lips, raising her eyebrows. 'She looks so cute when she does that,' Clyde thought.
"X..Xan...Xany is wayyy hotter than you Clyde, I never even noticed you," she pretended, scanning his body as if she was seeing him for the first time. Clyde felt bad the way Mia said the word 'Xany', and how she has never noticed his hotness, yet 80% of the girls in school wanted him so bad, and he had used 60% of them.
The rest of the ride was quiet, and Mia was shocked that she came up with such a nickname for Xander. A guy, probably Clyde's age, who she had interacted with like for only half an hour. For some reason, Mia could not tell Xander's age.
They reached the park, and Clyde's car brought attention, since it was an expensive looking car. People were staring, as if anticipating for the person to walk out.
"Don't move little munchkin," he alighted from his car after parking it. He then opened the door for Mia, but he stood so close where she was that she couldn't move. He then held out his hand for her.
'Is he kidding me right now?' Mia felt like slapping him. She was displeased, but Clyde overlooked the matter. People were watching them, and Mia hated the attention. "I can stand on my own, please move out of the way," her voice came out as a rising intonation.
"I don't think so," he suddenly yanked the feeble girl, and she landed on his broad unbuttoned chest, with his hands tightly around her small waist. "Don't make me mad more than I am now," he whispered to her ears, still maintaining his smirk.
Mia effortlessly tried to pull away from him, until he had a voice cracking from behind them.
"Leave her alone!"
