Chapter 43 - Chapter Forty Three

While Kai was busy starting to shore up his training, Kasuyi had already begun to make moves that he had planned upon his return.

"Marvin is taking care of Kai. That leaves me with enough free time to make some visits to some old students." Kasuyi spoke to himself as he lounged on a plush seat that was positioned just outside one of the numerous balconies of his great library.

He twirled a glass of red wine, sipping on it occasionally.

"Rajaa." He called out into the open air.

Yip!

With a silent pop, a black skinned puppy with sharp, shiny spikes running down its spine appeared in the middle of the air. The small bundle of darkness landed in Kasuyi's lap, it's dark tail wagging so quickly it was almost a blur.

"Rajaa, you mischievous little boy." He rubbed the dark pup's head lovingly, giving off a different vibe from that of the stern leader's vibe he always exuded.

Yip!

"Do you like Kai? He's quite the talent, even if he doesn't know it."

Yip!

Kasuyi laughed out loud, easily understanding the tongue of the spiked dog. It would still take some time before it regained enough power to to develop itself to its prime and be able to communicate in the human tongue.

The pair remained there for some time before Kasuyi finally had his fill of wine.

"Perhaps it is time to pay them a visit. What do you think, Rajaa? Do you want to come with me?" He asked, receiving an affirmative 'yip' in response. He stood up, placing the small puppy on his shoulder before stretching out his open hand. An old wood-like staff appeared in his grasp, emitting small pulses of power.

The staff had intricately carved decorations running down its shaft in a spiral motion, along with an intricate, and delicate network of runes that held powerful enchantments. He had crafted this beauty personally when he stepped into the Demigod Class. It had taken him an entire century's worth of accumulated valuable materials. All that was nothing to him when compared to the value of the staff. He had crafted it out of the incredibly hardy bones of a Void Wolf.

A Void Wolf was exactly as its name implied. It was an extremely deadly wolf that prowled through the void space that existed between worlds. These creatures were known to be extremely deadly to anyone who ventured into the void, actively hunting down whatever life form they sensed.

The Void Wolves were already Lord Class at birth, reaching the early King Class at adolescence, and stepping into the Pseudo-Demigod Class at their adulthood. If they were lucky, or talented enough, they also stood the chance to step into the Demigod Class, unlocking an entirely new level of power for themselves.

The Void Wolf in question was Rajaa's mother. The story was quite complicated in truth.

Kasuyi had deliberately hunted down Rajaa's mother, as he wanted to use her bones as the material for his staff. It had been a truly grueling battle, as she was already quite established in the Pseudo-Demigod Class. The true reason why he had won was because he had already stepped into the Demigod Class, and used his superior power to overpower her and end her life.

During the fight, he had been quite confused. Normally, Void Wolves were known to be very intelligent, retreating when there was no hope of them winning the fight, but Rajaa's mother had fought to the death. It was only after finishing her off that Kasuyi had found the new born pup, Rajaa. In order to honor her sacrifice, he had chosen to take Rajaa in, raising him as his own.

Of course, he had told Rajaa all this when the wolf had reached adulthood. Rajaa had gone into a fit of madness, almost destroying half of the Hidden Robe Abbey before he was finally stopped. His anger was the catalyst that pushed him into the Demigod Class, but as a result of such an unstable advancement, his soul was left in shambles, leaving him of death's door.

In a last bid to save his beloved companion, Kai tied their souls together, binding Rajaa to him for all eternity. That was why, when Kasuyi had been killed, Rajaa had slowly lost all of his power, turning into an almost dead pup. It was just that spark of life that had been kept with the Divine Mage that had preserved Rajaa's life. It was also because of Rajaa's continued presence that the remnants of the Hidden Robe Abbey was able to cling tightly to the hope of Kasuyi's rebirth.

Back to the topic, the name of Kasuyi's staff was the Chaos Scepter. The reason for such a name being the various materials and magic energy that Kasuyi had used to craft the magnificent equipment. He had tempered the Void Wolf's bone in a stream of volatile Chaos energy, before fusing it with Chaos remnants upon its finishing. The bone's extensive exposure to Chaos energy made it much more easier to hold Kasuyi's favored element - Chaos.

Although he was quite similar to Kai when it came to their diverse magical affinity, he preferred to make use of the Chaos element much more than any other element. With just a simple Chaos infused spell, he could greatly alter the effects of the spell, either greatly enhancing the destructive properties of the spell, or generating some negative status effects that would greatly disable his opponents.

Wielding his staff, Kasuyi let out a low sigh satisfied with the familiar feeling of his staff in his grasp.

"Let's get going, shall we, Rajaa?"

Yip!

After settling some simple matters so that his Hidden Robe Abbey wouldn't be disturbed by his absence, he cast a long range teleportation spell, disappearing in a flash of light, along with his Void Wolf companion.

The Abbey, aside from certain individuals of power had no idea that their leader had gone to cause trouble in the territory of the enemy.
