"Your Majesty, an invitation for the prince from A country is here!" announced the royal guard, a middle aged porter walked behind the guard quietly.
"Hand it over!" I yelled from a far and strode towards them; I took the card over from the porter and walked back to
my room hurriedly.
I quickly unwrap the beautiful shining golden invitation card "An invitation to a birthday party? What is she? A kid?" I scoffed in a hateful tone as I threw the invitation card in the trash bin.
I marched out of my room towards the king's (my father) chamber, "Father! I understand that her family kept you under their wings while you were in danger. Is there no way of repaying them than getting married to the girl I don't even know?" I questioned him while trying to sound as calm as I could.
"Son, they didn't only save my lives but yours and our country too… without them we would have been dead. You know, dead? He is not a very kind thing… "My old man replied to my question calmly as he looked out the window with a letter in his hand.
"Also, that betrayer servant of ours is still out there somewhere, his lies almost caused us our entire country, just a lowly servant...I won't force you to marry her." continued my father with a sigh clenching his fist as the past came flashing back at the back of his head.
"What!" I exclaimed my hazel eyes doubled in size looking astonished at my father calm and logic answer
"You heard that right, son! You are the only son I have and I don't want to make you unhappy." He turned his head around slowly and looked at me with the stupid expression on my face.
"But..." He continued with a devious smile across his lips...
"OH! NO!" I was screaming internally as I sat frozen, anticipating for what was going to come next. My heart beating crazily a thousand times per second like it was trying to pump out from my chest and run away.
"You need to give her a chance; you go there and disguised yourself as her tutor…" he announced and paused for a moment for he was enjoying the suspense look on my face.
"Stay there for as long as you can, minimum up to 6 months and see if you like her." He continued in a serious tone.
"But, father, what if she doesn't like me, even if I happen to like her? And, why does she need a tutor?" I questioned in a clueless tone.
In the imagination of the prince, the girl that his father had chosen for him is a well disciplined, sophisticated, beautiful; innocent and a young well attitude woman like him.
"My son… all in good time... All in good time, you will get all your answers once you reached there." My father answered in a helpless tone, he turned to read the letter in his hand.
"You said whenever I want I can come back, and you said 6 months minimum.... father…"
"I made a promise son, so even if we want to break that promise, we must at least have a good reason and that reason can only be justified when you see it with your very own eyes and hear it with your own ears." He explained softly as he cut in mid sentence.
"I understand, father! But I want to go there the day after her birthday." I told him in a low voice; I tilted my head with defeat as I stood up ready to leave.
"Oh, son I forget to tell you that your flight has been booked for next week, Wednesday. Yay!" My father exclaimed and hearing that I halted abruptly I could not take another step forward.
I was shook as hell…
"Father....!!" I turned around and looked at him greatly astonished.
"Isn't that day her birthday?!" I slumped back down to the chair I just sat on.
"Yes, son… Yes it is. My smart man" He tittered looking up at me from his chair with a silly wide grinned on his face.
"One more thing, you cannot use our royal private jet, servants, butler, cars anything that belongs to the royal palace."
Like I was not being tortured enough, I wasn't allowed to use the things which I have been using it since I was a baby?
It was like he was telling me to die and not ask for help… at all.
"What! Father... Have I done anything wrong to you? I am sorry for whatever it is.. Okay." I cried as I jumped out from the chair startled and apologized repeatedly....
Trying my very best to persuade him; I massage his shoulders, helped him dust off the clothes he was wearing from the wind, getting him foods and snacks from the royal kitchen, I used up all the compliments I collected from the internet, I gave him my cute puppy eyes but all in vain…
It didn't faze him a bit and at the end I was still told to go alone like a normal person do.
