Chapter 1 - World Of New

"The nation who was previously named Maynard, now turned Linia, is named from their bravest warrior. Lillian Tame. This warrior had a board of members specifically formed for combat, five of them to be exact."

"Why are we learning about other nations again?" The professor looked at the student who had raised his hand with a look of amusement. "I'm sorry, ask that again?"

With that, the student's expression turned cocky. "Why do we need to learn about the other nations when we're the most powerful of all of them?" His chair screeched as he stood up and turned to look at his other classmates.

"We have the most powerful of magical advancements! We don't need to learn about some puny nations!" With a smirk plastered on his face, he turned back to face his professor. "No one cares about those lessons your teachi--!"

"You must be new here." Approaching the student with a finger pointing at him, his stride was most definitely terrifying for those who did know of their professor's identity around school.

The rude student was asking to be let to breathe again. Because of the professor's magic casted on him, his breathing hitched as he was being deprived of air.

"He's so stupid."

"Probably a rich kid, transferred here by her "Daddy"."

"Hahaha! That's probably it!"

"Silence!" The conversing students got quite from their professor's warning. His smirk grew. "Good. At least some of you know who have the authority here." When he put his pointer finger down, the suffocating student gasped a huge breath of air.

The only thing that can be heard in that study hall was the sound of his desperate gasp for air and their professor's heels clacking on the floor with each step.

"Right, before I send Mr. Kergley here to detention and have our discussion continue, let me remind you all who I am." Grabbing a piece of chalk, he wrote letters on the blackboard behind him.

Throwing the chalk back at his container, he started ridding his hands of chalk, and clapped one last time before leaning on his table, having both hands as support on each side.

"Clay Hafford. One of the best professors here at Youth Magic Foundation. Expert at Wind Magic." Walking around his table, Clay pointed at Kergley. "Now, can anybody tell me what spell I used on him?"

Multiple hands rose up with eagerness. "Now we're talking. Let's see." Licking his lower lip while looking through the vast majority of his students, his eyes landed on one.

This one looked uninterested in everything that was happening in that room at that time. 'Curious…'

"You! The one with jet black hair, what's your name?" All eyes were on a student on the far corner of the room. She was writing something in her journal so it took her awhile to notice the many pairs of eyes that were staring at her.

When she looked up, she pointed at herself confused. "Me?" Clay just laughed in a low tone. "Yes, Miss…?"

"Oh! Uhm, I'm sorry Professor Hafford. My name is Allia Frone. I transferred from the Bio Department today." Clay only hummed in understanding. "Very well then. Since you have only transferred today, I will let you get a pass--"

"Wind's Pipeline, isn't it?" Her answer surprised him. He was about to pick another student but when she answered, his interest in her grew even more. "Well, that's correct. Well done Ms. Frone."

Keeping his vision on the girl for a few more minutes before returning back to his place in front was a mistake. He completely forgot about the almost dead student he had sitting on the floor that he was supposed to send outside.

"Oh right, Mr. Kergley. I suggest you get that checked in the infirmary. Also, don't try and skip detention." Not missing a beat, Grey Kergley ran to the doors with his bag in hand.

Not minding the boy who just ran outside his study hall, he looked back to his students. "Now, let me tell you why we need to study other nations."

Pulling a string from above the blackboard, it revealed a worn out map.

"See this big landmass here? This was Frag before the war. Now look at your textbooks." The students each looked at their textbooks. Just like what Clay anticipated, almost all of them gasped in shock.

"You see? The nation of Linia has conquered almost half of our land during that war. Lillian Tame was their secret weapon. There was no info about her, she was only heard of when she was set into the battlefield."

"We cannot let that same mistake happen. We are learning about their past to get ready for their future plans." The bell rang and that was the signal that their class had concluded. Before any of Clay's students leaves, he reminds them once more.

"Never forget about a person's past, because they can be used as a person's greatest weapon."

They left with a simple "Yes sir" which made Clay smile wholeheartedly.

While fixing the paperwork on his table, he noticed that one student has yet to leave his study hall. He knocked once on his table to try and get her attention but it didn't seem to work.

"Miss?" He tried but he was still unsuccessful. He was left with no choice. "Distant Winds."

He smirked when he saw her brace through the strong winds that emitted from his chanted words. She didn't have to look around to find the source of the winds. She looked straight up front and she knew she'd see her new teacher.

"Sir, it's your luck that I'm not wearing a skirt today." He hummed as he scanned her attire.

She was wearing a waist line jean, tucked in it is a white turtleneck sweater, and partnered with white sneakers. Her hair was put into a messy ponytail and she was wearing big glasses that blocked the view to her whole face.

"Yes, that would've been troublesome indeed." She stared at her professor with curious eyes.

She admits that he was fairly handsome. His messy, curly hair seemed to add to his charms. He's got a sense of style too. The way he carried that tight fit blue polo shirt partnered with navy blue slacks and formal men's shoes, no wonder everyone at her previous Bio Department were head over heels for him.

His muscular form was evident too, in his fashion choice. 'Bragging about something like could never get you anywhere, sir.'

"So, what do you need from me?" Removing his focus from his paperwork, he looked at her with a close eyed smile. 'Fake.' She thought.

"I'm just wondering how you knew about my spells so well. Especially the ones I just used. Wind's Pipeline and Distant Winds are not spells that are already recorded in enchanted archives of the school." She chuckled lightly. "Is there something I said that peaked your humor?"

"For a professor at a prestige, you're not very clever."

He raised his eyebrow at her. "Really now?"

"I never did know the name of that second spell you used."

His mouth was left hanging open as he stared at his new student. She was startled though as she heard him laugh loudly, the sound of it echoing through the walls. 'The heartthrob professor is a nut job?'

"Excellent! You are very much fit to be my student!" His mood swung so easily. His aloof aura completely vanished as soon as those words left his mouth.

He grabbed her wrist and pulled her closer to him. The books she was previously holding on to have now been discarded into the floor, while the almost organized paperwork has scattered near those books.

"Now, tell me." His low voice was enough to frighten a full grown man but Allia didn't falter. "How did you know about my spells?"

Allia tugged her with enough force to set her wrist free. He scanned Clay's facial expression and internally smirked. 'Just wait and see, sir.' He stared at her swiftly moving form that was picking up her books from the floor.

She fixed the loose strands of her on her ear and took a deep breath. "Alright, I'll tell you."

Anticipation was killing him. No one, he means no one knows when a new spell of his has been experimented on. It's very much alerting him.

"It's because--"

The bell rang again once more. She smirked as she tried to look apologetic in front of Clay.

"I'm very sorry, sir. But I must get going to my Spell Class. Now if you'd excuse me." The squeak of the door and the slam of it's closing echoed inside the room.

Clay's eyes were still focused on the spot where Allia was. His dark expression was nowhere near calm.

Turning around and slamming his fist on his table, he lowly growled. "Allia Frone…"

"Who the hell are you?"

Walking down the hallways, blocked by the shine of her glasses, the eyes of secrecy.
