Youth Magic Foundation Dormitories, where every student studying at YMF stays and rests after a long day of studying the foundation of magic.
Dorm life at YMF wasn't strict. They had a curfew of ten in the evening and a wake up call at six in the morning. There weren't any gender separation either, meaning boys and girls can hang out in each other's dorm rooms.
Usually at eight in the evening, all dorm rooms would be void of light and noise since every student would want to sleep after running around all day, trying to reach their respective classes for respective schedules.
That wasn't the case for tonight though.
"SUCK IT YEOL!"
"SHUT UP YOU NON-MAGICAL!"
"THE HELL YOU SAY!? I AM NOT A NON-MAGICAL!"
"SURE YOU AREN'T!!"
"You two should calm down…"
"It's okay, Kayne. The madam needs to throw hands at the beast every once in a while." The one seating next to Fred named Kayne just sweatdropped. "Is it now…"
They both looked at the two bickering students. They first turned their attention to the one who was locked in a chokehold and was trying his best to get out of it.
They slightly turned their vision upward and saw a horrifying expression that cannot be described for reader's discretion.
Standing up from his seat on the ground, he scratched his head then proceeded to move closer at the ones who were about to kill each other. "Okay, okay. We need to stop this you two--"
"STAY OUT OF THIS KAYNE!" They both said at the same time that almost made him faint. Good thing that Fred was there to catch him. "Kayne!"
"They're...out of control…"
Kayne Hart : 3rd Year at Youth Magic Foundation
: User of Metal Magic, a branch of Geo Magic
"You guys should stop this! You don't have to kill each other for something like this!"
They both glared at him with frightful eyes and Fred just had it. "Alright, you left me no choice." was what Fred said before leaving Allia's dorm room.
"You better be ready to lose your mind, Lay."
"We'll see about that, Allia."
They were both out of each other's hold and were now at a standstill. Both of their fists were raised, and ready to strike the other at any given time.
"You shouldn't have that that you know." Allia's opponent just scoffed. "Well I don't regret it." His smirk just irritated her even more.
Lay Smith : 2nd Year at Youth Magic Foundation, Machineries Department
: User of Conduct Magic, a branch of Electricity Magic
: "Winning doesn't matter, as long as I defeat my opponent."
They moved quickly to pounce on each other but before they could make direct contact, the door smashed open, earning the attention of the two and the forgotten half-conscious Kayne.
"I told you guys should stop!" Fred announced to the room but their attention was at the person who was next to Fred. Their burning green eyes meant that they were in deep trouble, and they won't get out of it in any way.
"Fred here told me you guys were having game night. So what happened?" His hands on his waist, he stared at them intently which made them gulp.
"Well…" The both of them simultaneously said before spiraling out of control.
"This dumbass was trying to get out of jail!"
"What do you mean!? You're the one who's not paying rent!"
"Me!? You're the one who didn't pay me for that Freyman Castle!"
"It's worth 900 jewels! What do you need that for--!?"
"ENOUGH FROM YOU TWO!" The pair flinched at his raised voice. Their heads slowly hung low in front of him. "We're sorry, Newt."
"You two are seriously the root of all my headaches."
Newton Jay : Professor at Youth Magic Foundation, Supervisions
: Non-magical, focuses on combat skills
: "Those five are all in my age range, but it feels like I'm with five year olds all the time.
He rubbed the bridge of his nose before pointing at Kayne who was attempting to stand up but only managed to sit up. "Kayne, what exactly happened?"
"Huh? O-Oh...they were just playing Gicopoly when all sorts of things happened that resulted in Allain losing…"
He sighed at the shy man's explanation before offering him a hand. "Here, stand up."
Kayne immediately accepted his hand and stood up quickly, offering him a quiet "thank you", which Newton returned with a nod. "Now,"
He turned his attention at the two who were about to escape through the door. They turned back to him with horrified expressions on their faces. "Y-Yes?"
He stared at them, up and down before grinning. The two of them followed suit while Kayne and Fred had seemed to lose half of their lives.
"No…"
"I swear to God Loki, if this is what I think it is--"
"Shut up, Fred." He flinched at Allia's words. He just nodded and internally dreaded being in that room at that moment. 'She's back in rhythm now…'
Newton pulled out something from his pockets which made Allia and Lay's eyes sparkle. "That's…!"
Allia coughed trying to compose herself and tired to hide the excitement she was feeling. "This is gonna be fun."
"Just roll it. I don't care anymore. Let's go prepare snacks, Kayne." He just nodded at Fred and followed him. He almost fell down on his behind again, as Fred suddenly stopped.
He pointed at the three who just looked at him with blank faces. "You better not bother us--!"
"I said shut up, Fred." He immediately saluted her. "Yes ma'am!" He said before running off to the kitchen.
Newton, Allia and Lay turned their attention back at the "thing" on Newton's hand. "Just like always, we settle this with this." Allia smirked.
Pointing at herself, she faced Lay with a cocky smile. "I'm winning this!" Lay butted his forehead on hers. "Nope! I will!" He growled which she returned with a fiercer one.
"Alright! Highest number gets to choose the punishment for the loser!"
Newton threw the dice up high and as they came down, he caged it in his hands midair. He noticed that Lay was particularly observing his hands quite closely. Newton smirked and Lay noticed this.
Newton moved his hands away from Lay's view which earned a cocky grin from Allia and a pout from Lay. "Ah-ah-ah. As soon as I feel even a tingle of spark from the dice, I'll declare Allia as the winner."
Allia just laughed at Lay. "He can cheat all he wants, Newton. I'll be the one winning anyways!"
"You won't know that!"
"Allia is the winner." The two of them turned to Newton. "Yes!"
"No!" In defeat, Lay kneeled down on the ground with lifeless eyes. "I can't...no…"
With that, the three of them consisting of Lay who was being dragged by the arm by Newton and Allia, went to the center room of Allia's room.
Fred and Kayne were setting up plates and cups when they noticed the three enter the room. "So? Who won?" Fred noticed the smirk on Allia's face, he sighed. "Like always."
Kayne laughed dryly. "Haha...Why do you even try, Lay?"
Lay just let out a huff of breath as he plopped down the couch. 'It's unfair! She always seems to know what happens…' He stared at Allia who was talking--scolding Fred.
"I told you, I paid for the cafeteria food last week so you have to pay me back today." Fred just looked away from her and pointed at his part. "I thought that would pay for the job I did--!"
"Hey, where's Mae?"
"She's sick so she has to pass up on today's meeting."
"Oh? Is that so… She's been getting sick quite often now." Newton pointed out. He opened a can of soda and poured it on his cup. He took a sip before directing his observing blue eyes at the person who ordered the "game night."
People may think that Newton was the head honcho, or the leader of their little group. That was definitely not the case.
It wasn't him who was the eldest, it wasn't Lay who was the smartest of the bunch, nor is it Kayne who was considered the one most people like.
They all settled down on their seats and took a breather for a few minutes. When Kayne knew that everyone was finally settled, he opened up the major topic. "So, Allia."
The lady in question just smiled at them as she leaned back on her chair more.
"Right. The plan."
