The Day Of:
"Hey Lydia want to hang out, go into town and grab you a fancy birthday lunch?"
"Just us?"
"Yeah just us. You know the only thing they do for birthdays is only ever just your favourite meal for dinner. It's never anything overly special so let's change that."
"Mom Dad. Me and Jordan are going out for a bit. Oh Jordan let me go grab something from my room real quick."
"Of course we've got time." Lydia runs to her room and grabs her backpack.
She goes back to whereJordan was waiting by the door. "You ready now?"
"Yea I just needed to grab this," Lydia lifts her backpack up before putting it on. "It has everything I may need: an extra set of clothes, my wallet, my phone, a portable charger, my regular charger, notebooks, pencils, erasers and even rulers."
"You sound like your about to go on a hike or something. Are you sure we're just gonna hang out in town?"
Lydia rolls her eyes at her brother's commentary and walks out the door. Jordan follows her after he calls out to his parents. "Okay, we're leaving now. Have a good day."
As soon as Jordan left the house everyone began rushing around to quickly set up everything they had for the party.
Natasha grabbed the balloons and decorations from the attic and dad helps her blow up balloons and put the decorations up. Mom had to start working on the food herself and when Brady was there he'd help out too.
They quickly got all the balloons put up outside when Brady knocks on the door.
"It's me, Brady!" He called out to the people inside.
"Come in the doors unlocked. I'm in the kitchen."
Brady walked into the house and went straight to the kitchen. "Hey Mrs. P how are you?"
"I'm well thank you for asking. Ah you can put the cake in the fridge for now." Brady quickly does as he's told to to keep the cake as fresh as possible.
"So what are we having tonight?"
"Braised pork belly, some of Lydia's other favourite dishes."
"So there's also going to be taco salad and chicken Caesar salad too?"
"Oh definitely everyone of you enjoys when I make those."
"That's because you're a great cook Mrs. P"
"Still such a sweet talker I see."
"I heard my mom say it was inherited from my dad."
"I believe it. Your dad was a sweet talker too."
"I'll get started on the salads then. They are the only ones you've already taught me to make."
"Great I'm glad I've already taught you some stuff that means I have more time to do the hard part."
"Aye don't say that Mrs. P you know I'll help wherever I can. Brady quickly grabs the ingredients and starts on the Caesar salad.
"I know Brady I'm teasing. You're always a big help." Mom replies as she gets started on the pork belly.
