How long has it been since that day? It feels like only yesterday I lost you. But no matter how many years pass, my love for you will never wane.

I looked at the once beautiful bracelet made of rubies encased with the finest gold, which now had broken to pieces. Like what had happened, it left nothing but pieces of broken shards.

Whenever I looked at it, it reminded me of her...our memories together...her touch...her smell...her enchanting smile.

To know that she was gone right before my eyes was the worst punishment that the heavens had ever befallen on me. I held her in my arms. Her delicate body was lying in my arms, letting the blood pool until there was so much it started dripping onto the ground. Her smile was the last thing I wanted to taint with bloodshed, but I had failed to protect her from the malicious beings in this world. I was an utter failure of a man.

She trusted me with her life and her heart...but my foolishness and immaturity made me throw it all away.

Since that day, not a day passed where I did not pray for a second chance.

All I wanted was to hold her in my arms again and see her smile. And if the heavens weren't willing to give me the chance to see her again...then I am ready to even go against the heavens and all rules to bring back the person whom I left my heart with.

I am ready to bear all the punishment and curses afterwards as long as I could see her alive again.

I put up a formation with runic symbols glowing on the walls, each intricate pattern was weaving the solid wall of a ward. The whole building was shimmered in a translucent cocoon of magic. Waves of enchantment rose within the walls like a brilliant light shining from the empty darkness.

I cut my wrist with my blade as blood gushed out. The pain I felt was nothing compared to the pain I had carried for these past few years. I hovered my arm over the formation as the blood dripped onto the runic symbols.

A faint dark wisp of magical energy escaped from my fingers to activate the formation.

Right now I thought of the only person that could bring peace to my heart. I thought about her. Thinking that we would be reunited again in this world.
