As I stood there with my hands soaked in warm blood, I was dumbfounded at the new ability I had obtained.
---
After pushing the boss back to a reasonable distance, I soon took note of the new strength I had acquired. I soon checked the boss's stats.
After reading the new information, I wasted no time and sprinted at high speeds towards the boss. As I closed in, I noticed that the boss could barely keep up with my speed, so I confidently jumped at it and unleashed a few blows to its forearms. I also discovered that the slash from my claws had left finely cut gashes, along the bear growling in uneasiness and pain. As I quickly retreated back to my previous position, the boss soon let out a loud roar that caused a few stones from the top of the cave to fall down. As it glared at me this time, I noticed that its previous fierce aura had started to grow, shrink, and flicker like a candle or a fire would.
A notification soon popped up as I felt the intimidating aura directed towards me.
[The 'Blazing Bear' has activated the 'Berserk' ability.]
When I finished reading the notification, I noticed that the bear no longer waited for me to attack, and decided to take the first strike. Because it wasn't too close, I was able to dodge and cast 'Fire Pillar'. Even though it looked like it did a lot of damage, instead of the boss roaring, as usual, it turned to look at me with a seemingly angry face before roaring again. Its entire behavior pattern had changed at this point, although it took me a few seconds to realize it.
After remembering the notification, based on the game ads I used to see in my previous world and also based on common sense, it looked like the 'Berserk' ability numbed or took away the boss's sense of pain. Which in one word, was a pain, because the boss didn't give me a second to attack. After a few minutes, this annoyed me, so I let the boss sprint towards me, and after it was in attacking range, I dodged to the left, jumped into the air, and landed on its back. As I landed, I quickly dug my claws into the back of the boss's neck. Initially, I was going for its head, but it quickly started running around like a bull back in my world, which made me miss my target.
Even though I wasn't able to stab into the boss's head, I still did over 100 damage when I stabbed its neck. But, since it couldn't feel any pain, it quickly threw me off its back and was about to stab its claws into my stomach. I quickly rolled from underneath it and cast 'Flame Pillar' and 'Fireball'. I cast 'Fireball' at its eyes so that it wouldn't be able to see me anymore. Although it worked, and its accuracy and trajectory when dashing were lowered, it could still figure out where I was inside the room, which alarmed me.
'Does it have some kind of mana or energy sensing ability?' I thought to myself as I effortlessly dodged it. I quickly cast 'Flame Pillar' once again, which did the trick. After killing the boss, which took way longer than calculated, I quickly noticed my mana had dropped from over 4,000 to 1,090. Ignoring the glowing objects in front of me, I quickly opened the status window and checked my current condition.
Mind of the Ocean(Passive), Beast Transformation Lvl 2, Nature's Gift(Passive), Mana Forming Lvl 14 [See More], Fireball Lvl 9, Flame Pillar Lvl 4, Magic Tool Creation Lvl 1, Hyper Flash Lvl 2,
Workshop Blade, Artisan's Glove
[Stat Points: 10]
It finally made sense to me as to why a rank SSS hunter had to have been in that rank for over 50 years to hold their own against a rank SSS monster. Even though the stat values could be higher than the monster's, the monster would still be stronger than the hunter. My stats are all way over the [BOSS] monster's, but it was still giving me a hard time. After carefully observing my stats and abilities, a series of notifications popped up.
['Health' stat has been created.]
[Due to the effect of the ability 'Nature's Gift'(Passive), you have absorbed 100% of the [BOSS] monster's 'Health' stat.]
After reading the notification, "Nature's Gift" I said.
Nature's Gift: A passive ability unique to monsters, this ability allows a monster to absorb 1 of the stats of another monster they defeat. For example, if a Flame Serpent defeats an Ice Golem, then the passive ability 'Nature's Gift' will activate and let the Flame Serpent absorb 100% of a certain stat of the Ice Golem. This is a monster's way of leveling up. Once the monster reaches level 150, they're able to choose between which stat they wish to absorb from their enemy.

As I stood there with my hands soaked in warm blood, I was dumbfounded at the new ability I had obtained. All this time I was cursing the 'Beast Transformation' ability that I was unable to get rid of, but it did me a really nice favor! This means that I'll naturally be stronger than all the average Dungeon Raiders in my rank. I can level up like a human, and absorb stats like a monster, naturally, there would hardly be anybody able to pose a threat to me, given some time. I was incredibly eager to try out this new ability of mines. And a few unlucky test subjects had come at the perfect time!
"Is that the guy who did that to those Fire Bears?"
"I'm pretty sure it is, considering we haven't run into anybody else in here."
"So what do we do?"
"Obviously we kill him!"
"As I thought, no one is able to escape alive when we step in!"
"For we are the-"
"K-kugh!"
"W-What the h*ll just happened?!"
"Is that a monster's claws?!"
"No, it's not a monster's claws, how dare you call my hands that of a monster's!" I said as I stuck my claws through the jugular of one of the people that were watching me from behind the recently re-opened gates. I noticed them while checking my status, and I was so happy a few test subjects had brought themselves to me without even knowing it! As I ripped my hands from my first victim's throat, a pleasant notification popped up in the corner of my eye.
[Due to the effect of the ability 'Nature's Gift'(Passive), you have absorbed 100% of your opponent's 'Defence' stat.]
The other 3 people didn't have enough time to react to the sudden shock, so I took the chance and sliced the head off of another one of them. It seemed to me that they were doing some kind of undercover mission for someone because of their attire. They wore both a tight black puffy shirt and pants, with tight black masks that you could only see their eyes in. They also wore grey shoes with no designs whatsoever on them, like they were ninjas or assassins.
[Due to the effect of the ability 'Nature's Gift'(Passive), you have absorbed 100% of your opponent's 'Attack' stat.]
These guys couldn't have been genuine assassins or whatever if they were caught off guard this easily. Instead of toying with them, I quickly killed the rest as to not let them recover and fight back. The reason why was because I noticed how much of the defense stat I absorbed from the first person. My defense went up by 2,000, which clearly meant they were high leveled. At first, I thought that guy was the leader, but after I killed the second person, My attack stat went over 2,000 after he died. This lead me to believe they were all over level 100, so I had to kill them quickly, but no matter, it became easy as I absorbed their stats. After killing them all, I quickly left the dungeon through the portal that had appeared shortly after I defeated the [BOSS].
'Time to go find some more walking sacks of stats!'
