"Where did Axel go? I was sure he was upstairs...where could he have gone that fast?" Angela mumbled to herself while running out of her home and looking around. After talking to a few of the villagers, she heard from almost all of them that he ran into the forest with an excited look on his face. Hearing that, Angela started to bite her nail. She then ran into the forest wearing a stressed expression.
'Why did he go into the forest? I truly hope he's fine..." she said with her face turning grim. "Axel! Where are you? If you can hear me, respond!" She shouted even though there were monsters all around her. Sadly, Axel was too deep into the forest to hear her calls.
"Phew! That was a way harder battle than I expected!" Axel said while sitting down on the now slightly unleveled ground. There were deep holes and grazes on the Winged Halgyn's body and the ground too. The once dark green grass, weeds, and flowers on the ground had vanished. All that was left was uprooted trees.
And there was Axel sitting on the ground lightly panting and wiping the sweat from his face. He also had a few injuries on his body due to him being careless and underestimating his enemy. The beast that he thought would be easy to beat put up a decent fight even while already wounded. The loud and sharp screeches he ignored at first started to affect him later on.
After 30 minutes or so, the panic and fear effects started coming back, which were continuously being nullified. But the split second the effects set in caused him to get injured multiple times. Since the beast was already wounded, Axel repeatedly attacked the wounded spot on the beast's body. He couldn't imagine what the fight would be like if the beast wasn't already injured. While deep in thought, he heard footsteps coming in his direction, but who would be venturing this deep into the forest beside him?
After putting up his guard, he soon noticed that it was just Angela, but she looked stressed and worried about something. Before asking any questions, "What were you doing this deep in the forest?! Don't you know how dangerous this fore-" Angela was immediately cut off as she saw a beast's corpse next to Axel. They both stared at each other for at least a minute.
"W-What the h*ll is that?!" she shouted at him as her eyes widened. "Also, why are you injured?!" She shouted again with a confused expression on her face. Too many things were going through her head when she stared at the situation in front of her.
After a while, she began speaking again. "Come over here so I can use my healing magic because I'm not coming any further than here." She said while staring intensely at the dead beast behind Axel. He scratched the back of his head and then walked forward. "I'm not really that injured you kno-"
"Shut up! I need to focus." Angela said concentrating on his only arm. After a couple of seconds, the injuries on his arm were gone. "Take off your shirt, what are you waiting for?" She said staring at him with a slightly angry expression. She didn't look the least bit embarrassed, 'She probably did this for a lot of people already' Axel thought to himself.
While Axel was thinking to himself, Angela couldn't focus, because it felt like her mana pool was on fire. After a while, she managed to calm herself, but while concentrating, Axel's questioning voice broke the silence. "Umm, I don't think this is what's supposed to happen...right?" he questioned her while looking down at his chest.
Angela was about to yell again, but as she opened her eyes, she saw green vines coming from her hands and latching onto Axel's arm and chest. She was shocked and also happy at the same time. All this time, she wondered why she could only heal minor injuries, but this was why. She had a low affinity with [HEALING] magic, to begin with, instead, her affinity was with [PLANT] magic.
