"Welcome everyone, to Elite Academy 1. To those who were involved in the duel earlier, please come down here now."
I felt a lot of pressure behind his words. He was serious. I wondered what brought this up though. Isn't duels normal in Elite Academies? Although, I do hear that it's prohibited to have duels during entrance ceremonies.
"What's your name?"
"Leon Stewart sir."
"Kaito Suzuki sir."
The two boys that are now beside the teacher had really immense power when I activated my [Sense] ability. They were at least 5 times stronger than me. I hope I don't bump into them only to end up fighting them…
He scolded the two in public. Well, they almost caused some casualties so…
The guy named Leon had brown hair and dark blue eyes. He was the one who was throwing [Fireballs]. The one name Kaito had blonde hair and green eyes. He was the blow deflecting the [Fireballs] using his sword. I was surprised that they did the complete opposite of the other. One used his ability but not his Over Gear, while the other used his Over Gear but not his ability. Although, that just means the other is somewhat like a mage while the other is a warrior. Those two have their pros and cons.
"Regardless of the reason, you two still broke a rule. Therefore you must be punished. [Bind]"
Black chains came out of the man's hand and wrapped around the two. Then, someone walked to the middle and carried the two.
[I wonder how useful that ability can be.]
"Wha-" I quickly shut myself up to avoid attention.
A message appeared in front of my eyes. It was only for a second, but I was sure I saw a message. It was like a message you'd receive in a game. I was a tiny bit scared, since I might be going crazy. Although, this may be also an effect of the implant of the Over Gear.
I took a deep breath and calmed myself down. After a few moments, the entrance ceremony finally started.
Nothing of note has happened.

We were now guided to our classrooms. I was placed in Class C. When we arrived at our classroom, I was kinda underwhelmed. It was about the same size as my old school's classroom. It could fit around 50 students.
"Take a seat and I will begin explaining everything to you students."
Our teacher was the very same man who used [Bind] earlier. His name is Julius Tachibana, a S-Rank Elite. Honestly, even without my [Sense] I could clearly tell that he's really strong. Elites sure are monsters in human form. I was the first to take courage to walk into the classroom. I walked in while taking caution. I also activated my [Sense] ability.
"Never let your guard down."
"I'm not."
He tried to entangle me using his [Bind] ability. However, I dodged it by activating [Flash] in just a second. Good thing I activated [Sense]. Even though I activated my ability for only a second, it still had a bit of toll on my body. I knew I should've trained my abilities.
Unlike the other Elites with abilities, I wasn't born with my ability. It came with my Over Gear, although I don't know how that works. There are some Elites that don't have abilities, I was supposed to be one of them. Even Mr. Aide was shocked when I suddenly gained abilities after the implant.
"You're quick."
"Thank you sir."
I continued on walking to the back and took a seat. The seat I took was just one seat away from the window. After that, the very same girl I bumped to earlier took the seat near the window.
"Hello again." I was the first to greet her.
"Oh, hi. We're classmates huh?"
"Seems like it. Hope we get along."
"Likewise." I really hope we get along.
After a few minutes, everyone finally finished choosing their seats. Our teacher, Mr. Julius, began to explain the very thing everyone was waiting for. The way to learn our rankings.
"Rankings determine how powerful you are and determine the rankings of the monsters you could fight. For example, if you are a C-Rank Elite, then you could fight E to C monsters. How will you know the ranking of the monsters you may ask. Well, we will give you Energy Detectors. Although, we still don't like making students fight monsters, that's why you're here. Let's just hope a portal doesn't appear. Some of you may not be even experienced in a fight. Anyways, your ranking will also determine on what division you'll be able to enter in tournaments that are held once a year."
That was true. If a portal were to break out right now, if someone inexperienced fought it, they'll die regardless of their power. The Energy Detectors work the same way as my [Sense] ability.
"Although, don't expect that everything we learn here is related to being an Elite. You need academics too, you know?"
"Gahh!" Everyone in the room cried out.
"I suck at academics…" said the girl beside me. I'm confident in my intelligence, so at least I have something that I won't suck at. I think.

It was now our break time. He wasn't kidding when he said we'd do academics. We haven't even done a single thing that's related to being an Elite. I wasn't really comfortable here yet, so I ate at a secluded part of the garden. It's peaceful here. The air smells nice, no noise, and I can hear the birds chirping.
I was comfortable until…
"Heya!"
The girl from earlier came to me. I wasn't really that good with girls, so this is definitely not normal to me. Well, Mr. Aide said to just act normal, so I guess I'll do that. I'm nervous, but oh well. Like they say, no pain no gain.
"Hi." Damnit!
I was not satisfied with that reply. If I weren't nervous I would've said it in a non-robotic voice. She laughed, which was pretty cute. She sat beside me and opened her bento. Seems like she'll be eating with me.
"I know it's probably too weird to ask this now, but what's your name?" she asked.
"Oh, I'm Ayato Kusarage. How about you?"
"I'm Hina Ayano."
I made a friend on the very first day. I count that as on accomplishment.
