"Ayato! We need to discuss the portal you just saw earlier." Mr. Aide said.
"You saw a portal?!" screamed Hina.
Now that I think about it, I didn't tell her about the incident earlier. I can understand her worry and shock. I mean, it's been years since we last saw a portal. We were starting to live normal lives again, so of course a portal showing up again will worry people.
"Yeah I did. Although no need to worry I fended off the beast. Luckily there was only one." I said.
"Wasn't it a B-rank though?" said Mr. Aide. I facepalmed knowing what he had just done. I looked beside me and saw Hina about to burst out in worry. Here we go.
"A B-rank monster?! Why didn't you call the authorities?! What if you were hurt?!" screamed Hina in a voice of worry.
"It's alright. I might have to endure a lot of pain afterwards, but using my ability is really helpful you know?"
"Pain?" questioned Hina.
"It's because of his abilities. He only recently got them from his Over Gear. I know that sounds dumb, but it's true. If he's not careful, he might even lose an arm just by throwing a punch." said Mr. Aide.
'There he goes again, saying anything he wants to without thinking about the consequences. I really should've told him to stop doing that in front of other people.'
Hina was looking at me with both a confused and worried expression. I told her to not mind it since I'm already getting the hang of my abilities. Although, I lied about getting the hang of it.
'I wish my ability was to just nullify anything…'

I completely forgot that I had this system thing in me. I should ask Mr. Aide about this. I disregarded what it had just said and started walking towards Mr. Aide and Hina.
"Mr. Aide, do you have a minute?"
They were starting to talk about some of Mr. Aide's inventions and ideas, so I asked him if he could give me some time.
"Oh? Is this about the portal?" said Mr. Aide.
"Something like that I guess."
We walked to a corner where Hina wouldn't hear us. I could tell she was suspicious in our movements, so I gestured to her that it was nothing.
"So, what is it?"
"It's a bit hard to explain, but this is the gist of it. I basically have something like a system within my brain. While on the bus here, I was thinking about the portal incident and the chance that something might appear again. Just then, a message appeared in front of me to tell me that it scanned the place and found nothing. I told it to just speak in my mind so now I have the voice of a girl in my head. You got all of that?"
"Ugh… My head hurts…"
"Figures."
I overloaded him with information, so of course he'll have a head. It doesn't matter if he's a genius or not. I feel sorry for him since I do this from time to time. He always ends up needing to take medication afterwards.
"I think I got it now. So you have a game like system? Well, remove the levels and such. That's amazing, it might be a unique ability."
"Oh? Like the Tachibana family's Ice ability?"
"Exactly."
I was amazed to have an ability like that. A unique ability is an ability that can only be wielded by a certain person or bloodline. Sometimes it is hard to tell a unique ability from a normal one. The only way to tell the difference is the gap between the power of the abilities.
"A unique ability huh? I guess I could call it like that."
"Although, be careful. This is a new kind of unique ability after all."
"I will."
After that, I told Mr. Aide about the portal incident.
