Early morning beautiful, Fazrani got up very early for dawn prayers at home only. Actually, Fazrani wanted to pray at the mosque which was not far from her house.
There were several adults who passed by her house when leaving and returning home after praying at the mosque, including Laila who had finished praying at dawn.
This morning Laila greeted her while he was throwing trash in the front yard.
"Good morning Fazrani, no dawn prayers at the Fazrani mosque?" asked Laila in a friendly manner.
"Good morning ma'am too, while at home first. I'm still busy cleaning the house." replied Fazrani politely.
"Okay, I'll go first Fazrani." said Laila as she followed her husband Affandi, who walked first in front.
Fazrani still remembered clearly in her memory when Hafiz told her that Allam was Affandi's son.
With new enthusiasm and in a good mood, Fazrani cleaned the house by herself until noon began.
The sun has shown its rays. With a body full of sweat, Fazrani took a wet towel and intended to wash it.
"Tok..Tok..Tok"
The front door was knocked, Fazrani frowned thinking who had come.
"Who came here?" muttered Fazrani while wearing her veil.
With a heart full of question marks, Fazrani opened the door and looked very surprised and a little afraid of Allam's unexpected arrival.
"You? was there something until you came here?" Fazrani asked, a little afraid, making Allam take a few steps back so that Fazrani would not feel afraid.
"You don't be afraid, I only delivered this for you from my mom." Allam said, putting a food container on the front table of the house.
"Oh, from Mrs. Laila ... thank you." said Fazrani as he looked at the contents of the food place which contained jackfruit vegetables and some corn and tilapia fish
"It looks delicious, and this tilapia fish is my favorite." said Fazrani with a face that looked happy.
"Tilapia fish is the result of my fishing in the river, I don't know if you like it." Allam said in his deep, distinctive voice.
"Oh ... thank you, tell your mother ... thank you for the food." said Fazrani who did not tell Allam to come inside because she was afraid of slander.
"I'll tell you, I'm going home first." Allam said without saying anything. And Fazrani said something.
"Be careful." said Fazrani, staring at Allam's back as he was about to leave the fence.
Allam stopped in his tracks and turned to face Fazrani.
"thank you." Allam said as he turned around again and walked away from Fazrani who was still standing at the door.
"I think Allam is strange, and maybe Hafiz said it was true if everyone ostracized him. Because he seems to be keeping his distance from everyone as well." said Fazrani to herself then went into the house.
He put the food cart on the table, and Fazrani continued cleaning the house.
It was only in the evening that Fazrani's work was finished. Her hungry stomach was finally relieved by finishing the food from Laila.
After eating, Fazrani continued with a new bath after which he performed the Asr prayer.
After everything is finished, Fazrani intends to return the clean food place to Laila, and at the same time intends to shop.
"Good evening ma'am." said Fazrani when he arrived at Laila's shop. And Fazrani was a little surprised that Allam was sitting on the terrace playing his guitar.
"Good evening too, beautiful Fazrani." Laila replied with a face that was always happy when she met Fazrani.
"This is Ma'am ... I want to return the food container from you. Thank you for the very delicious cooking. And sorry ma'am I can't replace anything other than thank you." said Fazrani while giving a place to eat to Laila.
"It's okay Fazrani, if you like my cooking, let Allam take it to your house every day. We're close neighbors." said Laila while receiving the food from Fazrani.
"No ma'am, I don't want to trouble anyone. And this ... I want to buy laundry soap and eggs." said Fazrani who felt bad if Laila was too nice to her.
"It's okay Fazrani, just think of me as your parent. And besides, I don't have a daughter. There is one Allam, but like that too ... nothing to be proud of." said Laila with a look full of disappointment.
Allam who heard this could only be silent and did not react anything.
From a distance Allam saw Habibah, Hafiz's mother. There was something worrying that Allam felt when Habibah entered his mother's shop.
"Good evening Laila." said Habibah and was very surprised when she saw Fazrani reply to her words.
"Fazrani? you are here?" Habibah asked, a little surprised.
"Good evening Habibah, you already know Fazrani?" asked Laila who was also surprised.
"Yes, of course I know Laila, l Fazrani is my future son-in-law. Next week Hafiz is back here and engaged to Fazrani." Habibah explained, which surprised Laila especially Allam.
Allam's hands trembled, apparently what he was thinking was true. With uncertain feelings Allam entered the house and went to his room and immersed himself in liquor to calm his heart a little.
Not much different from Allam's situation, Laila's desire to make Fazrani become daughter-in-law collapsed at that moment.
"Is that true Fazrani?" Laila asked with a look of despair, hoping that with Fazrani Allam's life would change.
Fazrani looked at Habibah then turned to Laila.
"This is indeed true Mom, Sunday, tomorrow Hafiz comes to wait for an answer from me." said Fazrani honestly.
"So you still have nothing to do with Hafiz?" asked Laila with a heart filled with hope.
"For now it's not Mom, but I hope everything goes according to plan because I'm looking for a good husband for me." answered Fazrani honestly too.
Habibah smiled at Fazrani's answer.
"The perfect prospective daughter-in-law, Fazrani wants to come to my house now? Humairah, his younger brother, Hafiz, came from Jakarta so she could get to know each other." said Habibah with a heart full of happiness.
Meanwhile, Laila's heart was crying to herself again.
"Laila, can I ask for help later sending a sack of rice to my house." said Habibah with a smile.
"Yes ... I'll take it between my husband, but it's a bit late in the afternoon, Habibah." Laila replied sadly.
"Okay Laila I'll go home first. Come on Fazrani." Habibah said goodbye to Laila and took Fazrani's hand to take her home.
"Be careful on motorbikes, Habibah." Laila replied with a weak body, dashing her hopes of making Fazrani her son-in-law.
In Allam's room, he had used up several bottles of liquor which he kept under his bed.
And Allam can only drink it when his father goes out of town, like now.
"Fazrani you will marry Hafiz, a good man, unlike me, a useless man who cannot take you to heaven...I'm happy too, but I still feel sick here. My life is very meaningless, no one wants me to live better. Besides they just hated me, even my own parents were always proud of Hafiz ... and not me." Allam muttered as he finished the rest of the drink in his bottle.
