Chapter 1 - The Sea

I was walking back to my apartment with two bags full of food and shopping. My ears were slightly buzzing after our concert a few hours before.

It was 11:47 pm and I was walking on an empty road and just at the end of the street was our apartment block. "Ow my arms." I mumbled, laying my bags down and streching my arms and back. The satisfaction of cracking by back made me let out a big heavy sigh. Being stiff was definitely not my thing.

Sparing a glance up, I admired the beautiful scenery of the sea amd the moon which lit up the clear sky. The reflection of the moon glistened in the water. The sea wasn't ery still but I took a few minutes to take in the view and rest but somthing caught my eye.

In the moons reflection lay a dark spot. A figure of somthing. It was just floating there, still and not moving.

"Sh*t!" I swore once I realised what it was.

I flicked my shoes off and ran. I ran as fast as I could towards the sea, taking my jacket off in the proses.

I trudged through the shallow water untile it got to my knees.

Then I dived under a wave and swam out the rest of the way as hard as my arms and legs could possibly go.

The sea wasn't as calm as I thought it was. The waves pushed me from side to side and filled up my lungs with water.

The floating body was edging towars the rocks as so was I.

After what felt like an eternity I got to the body. Fliping it, I saw it was a male.

All of a sudden, a wave swooped over us, slightly bigger than the usual. More like a 'calm before the storm' one. I tryed to jold one to the body and save our selves from the impact of the rocks beside us.

My back smashed against a big rocks behind us. My head started pound but this strangers life was more important than that.

Threading the water furiously, I swan right under the man and hoisted him up on my shoulders but once again the current went against me and my mission and slammed me in between two rocks.

I pushed off the rocks behind me before I got caught in another wave.

Trying my best to keep the body above the water, I ended up swallowing a dangerous amount of water. Struggling to take a breath, I kept my arms and legs moving.

I got to the point where my short legs could touch the sand. Once the water was at my waist I stood up and turned around.

Grabbing the body I tried dragging it to the shore as fast as I can. The amount of times I slipped is countless. By now I started to panic.

God knows how long the body was floating there before I had found it and the time I spend fumbling around is also a factor.

"Ugh... Come on!" I heaved him along the dry land and layed him down. I darted down to the body to start the CPR.

He wasn't breathing and now I was starting to think.....

Was I too late.....
