I was doing CPR for about 30 seconds but I didn't get any response back. I was finding it hard to breath myself. As a result, I started spitting water too but I didn't care. This mans life is on the line. If I can save him, I would be happy.
I couldn't help but start to cry. There was a dying man in my hands and it was all my fault. If I had just came a few minutes earlier, I would have saved him. I sobbed loudly while still, weakly performing CPR.
Then suddenly, he started spurting out water. He coughed and coughed and coughed. The litres of salt water he had swallowed came rushing out of his mouth. I turned him on to his side into the recovery position.
Without spending any time, I sprinted over to the side of the road grabbed my phone and called the emergency number of the area.

Just then I heard a siren in the distance. I hung up and ran back to the man to ses his condition. He seemed peaceful but his breaths were restricted.
"Please, p-please. Don't d-ie... " I sobbed hysterically. I was too immersed in crying that I didn't realise the ambulance had parked on the street and the doctors were rushing down towards us.
They grabbed the man and threw him onto a stretcher before skipping swiftly back to the ambulance.
"Miss. We need you to come with us. As a accompaniment." The woman ushered me into the ambulance and slammed the door shut behind me.
The doctors were sticking some sort of 'air pipe' down his throat while shouting words to each other which I couldn't understand because my vision was blurry and I was shaking. "Is he going-g to make it?" I gasped trying hard not to burst into a flood of tears again.
The doctor just look at my pity fully....
