TWO MONTHS LATER
"DARK! ANGEL! YUSHI!" Alycia yelled, stomping past students getting ready to leave for home. I shivered, Alycia and I had been moved into a different cabin due to the fact a giant GRIZZLY BEAR had made its way into our original in the middle of the night.
Alycia was completely puzzled on how the bear got into the cabin in the first place, but I knew how. I had left the door unhinged before bed and I was too tired to think about anything vital. Like our safety, for some strange reason. I had avoided Alycia so I didn't have to discuss the bear topic. Because, thanks to me, we had to bunk in a older cabin that wasn't taken care of.
The walls had started to smell funny halfway through the trip, with moss growing on the sides and the beds were in the worst condition imaginable. Mattresses were eaten away at, blankets were torn and scratched, pillows were stained. We couldn't even use the toilet, damn thing was stained brown and looked like someone shit on it for hours, making a huge methane deposit build up in the bathroom.
"Where have you been?" Alycia asked, dropping her things next to her and smacking my arm. I winced and rubbed the injury.
"OW!! Why did you hit me?" I asked. I glared at Alycia, wanting to get on the bus and drive away.
"Have you been avoiding me?" She asked, picking up her things.
"Oh. Yeah, that did work for a while," I said, scratching my neck and earning a scowl from Alycia. "Um, sorry by the way."
"You better be sorry! Avoiding your best friend hurts your best friends' feelings," Alycia said, scratching her nose with a stern look. "Now, why did you avoid me? Did I fart in my sleep or something?"
"No, but that would be on TikTok in five seconds flat. And, if you did, you would wake up to me laughing my ass off for hours!"
"Just tell me, butt-face!"
"Okay, okay, I'll tell you on the bus. But, you have to promise NOT to punch me because it will piss you off for a lot of reasons..."
*********************
"YOU were the reason the bear got into the cabin two months ago?!"
"Yes, and I'm sorry. I didn't mean for it to happen," I stuttered, waving my hands up. Alycia had just found out and was going to strangle me before I got home.
"I'm telling your father you kissed a boy this past month!" Alycia said, crossing her arms and turning to face forward.
I blushed and shook my head, "NO! Please, don't! He will ground me and I won't be able to see anyone, even you!"
".....Fine, but you owe me! We could go out at a club maybe?"
"YES! I can do that! YEEESSSS!!"
DAY 1 OF BEING BACK HOME:
"DARKANGEL!!!" My Dad screamed in my ears, hugging me tight and crushing every bone in my body. You know, for a murderous devil, he's way too sweet. "I'm s-so glad yo-you're baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack!!!"
"D-Dad, you're k-k-killing meeeee...."
"Oh, s-sorry. SNIFF, I'm just happy to see you, dear," Dad looked over at Kai who was putting my things on the couch. He walked over to him and slapped his back suddenly. "So, son. How was the trip for you two? Anything special happen?"
Uh-oh, the secret 'Did you have sex?' test...
"Um, I'm not sure what you mean, sir?" Kai said, blinking and acting like a total duffus. Like that would confused my father, he's a trained killer and can sneak past lies like a classic game of Uno. My dad isn't an idiot. "Can you explain what you mean by 'fun?'"
Dad rolled his eyes and whispered something in Kai's ear. Kai blushed and then laughed, whipping his head back and howling in laughter. My dad got surprised and jumped backwards a tad, his hand turning into large pitch-black claws meant for killing a human, but deadly enough to injure a monster.
"S-SIR! HAHAHA, now THAT is a joke!! Nah, she's too innocent!" Kai howled, trying to breath. He laughed his way to the couch and plopped down onto the leather. "Only someone special can do that with her."
You're special to me....
Dad turned to me and gave me a confused look, "Um, was that a no, then?"
I smiled and shook my head. "I've gotta get my stuff upstairs. Kai, can you help me?"
"Ahh, sure," Kai said, standing quickly and smiling dumbly.
I grabbed a bag and headed upstairs, Kai following me with my art book and bag full of sketch stuff. We walked upstairs past my little sister's old room and straight to mine, opening the door and walking in. The bed looked just like it did before, messy and undone, kinda like my life.
"Nice room," Kai said behind me, placing my stuff on the desk and walking around. He ran his fingers against the red cabinet and glanced at me. He smirks and continues to walk around then sits on the bed, looking up at me with a sly smile. "If only we made it in here last time we were alone. I could've done so many things to you, make you scream your head off and cry out 'Daddy,--"
"Shut up!!" I smacked Kai across the face and sh-ed him. Kai laughed and held his injury, falling back onto the bed and mashing his face into the mattress to quiet himself. "Dammit, Kai!"
"You're so cute when you're embarrassed!!" Kai said, flipping over and sighing. He smiled and laid on the bed, still and calm. I sat down and sighed, Kai was such a mess.
"Anyways, get out of here. I need some quality time alone with my Dad, I miss him."
"Okay, see ya later," Kai said, standing up and walking out the bedroom door. He turned and blew me a kiss, smiling at my blushing face. "Bye..."
"Bye," I mumbled, staring up at Kai as he smiled down at me. We were standing at the front door now, staring at each other. Kai slowly leaned in and held my cheek up, biting his lip and blushing. I closed my eyes and leaned into his palm.
"Excuse me, young man," My dad said, standing beside me and tapping his foot. Eyes shot open and I glanced up at my dad, blushing and shocked. Dammit...
"S-Sorry, sir. I'll go now," Kai said, smiling and taking a few steps back. He looked back at me when he reached the curb and waved, pulling out his keys from his pocket and stepping into his black truck. I waved back and watched him drive away.
"That boy, hmph," Dad muttered, glaring at the car. I laughed and closed the door, and gave my dad the biggest hug I could muster.
"I missed you, Pop!"
That night, my dad and I partied and had a fun time. We watched a whole season of Lucifer, binge watched Beastars and Toradora: (as punishment for not buying enough ice cream), and passed out on the couch.
The next morning, my dad left for work and I headed out for Alycia's house. Wearing a cute white frilled shirt with jeaned shorts that stopped and inch, or two, away from my hips. Ready to make up for the shitty vacay in the woods and tell her I'm sorry, again. I pulled my phone out of my pocket and texted Alycia:
Hey, get ready. We r leaving 4 our club. Meet me @ the front k?
I waited a second then:
ALYCIA SENT YOU A MESSAGE!
Sure, see u soon!
This is going to be fun! I thought to myself, smiling and rushing across the street. I spotted Kai's house (and truck) and stopped, Should I invite him? Wait, I'm trying to stay outta trouble. Besides, he might not even be home right now!! That might not even be his truck! It looks a lot like it though...
Kai stepped out of the house and walked to his truck, looking dull and bored. Nevermind...
"Hey, Kai!" I said, waving with a smile and running over to him. He looked around once then spotted me, surprised to see me. He weakly waved back at me and blinked a few times.
"Uh, hi...!" He mumbled, watching me walk up to him and laugh. I placed my hand on his arm and squeezed, "Hi, again! Whatcha doing here?"
"Picking up some stuff. You?"
"Heading to a club with my bestie. I can't stay long though, I'll be late. See ya-!"
"Wait, a club?" Kai asked, furrowing his eyebrows over his pretty eyes. I nodded and waved. "Hey, I could give you a ride!"
"Um," I turned and looked back at Kai. He was standing in his normal dark jeans and black buttoned down shirt. Kai looked handsome as always, not matter what he was wearing.
But I couldn't take the risk. "That's a little forward, don't you think, Kai?"
"I meant to the club, in my truck. Really? I'm not horny all the time, you know," Kai said, walking to the trucks passenger seat and opening the door. I sighed and calmed my heart down, walking over to Kai and sitting down in the truck. "Buckle up, it's going to be a hard ride."
"You mean bumpy, right?"
A chuckle from his smiling lips, "Nope, hard."
