"Uh, DarkAngel?" Alycia shook me awake. I opened my tired eyes and groaned.
"What, godammit?"
"There's something on the news you should see..."
"Fine, whatever," I sit up and look at the TV. Yeah, we passed out in the living room, don't judge. You've probably done it too!!
I blink twice then hear:
"Tyoki Yushi-sama was found dead this morning..."
"Wait, what?" I muttered, standing up suddenly and staring at the TV. "No no no, that can't be true..."
"Yushi-sama, also known as the infamous, Black Shadow Overlord, was found killed at the West Ridge Building on the corner of Parker Street.
"And, as many know, Yushi-sama cared for his two daughters. 15 year-old, DarkAngel Yushi and 13 year-old Demon Yushi."
"D-Dad?" I whispered, placing my hand on the warm screen. Shaking, I watched as the reporter pulled up a blurry photo of a man I knew too well...
"I'll be back in a month!"
I watched the blurry photo come into view.
"Okay, but, stay safe for me, please?"
There he was, my father, and my first best friend in the whole world.
"It is believed that Yushi-sama was going home to his children after a long work trip when he was shot three times in the back in a hit-n-run accident. Two bullets were in the lungs and one through the heart. Police, detectives, FBI and CIA are considering a murder was put into place for the young assassin."
Tears didn't began streaming down my cheeks, even though the photo was still on the screen. I felt a hand on my back, knowing it was Alycia.
"I love you so much, Otosan!" I squealed, hugging my father close to my chest. He laughed his deep-throated laugh and hugged me tight. "I love you, Otosan!!"
"O-Otosan?" I mumbled, sitting back on my heels. "O-Otosan...?"
"I'm so sorry, DarkAngel," Alycia pulled me into a hug and rubbed my back. I was so shocked, I couldn't say anything back.
"There are more details considering possible suspects including everyone at the HIT KILLS Inc. factory. This factory makes weapons and distributes them throughout the city to different workers [including Yushi-sama] and many more.
"And other possible suspects, some may find rather strange, include..."
"Turn it off, I've heard enough," I muttered, blocking the TV from view. I nuzzled my head into Alycia's shoulder as she reached to grab the remote. Then, she stopped dead and shook me softly. "What?"
I turned to look at the TV once more then stopped dead, standing up and walking backwards slowly. My sister's face was on the screen.
"This is a photo of Demon Yushi from her Instagram account. She is listed as one of the top 2 in the suspect list. The first is..."
"No..." I muttered, stepping back and covering my mouth.
"DarkAngel Yushi. Yushi-sama's eldest child and the most likely to murder her father. Police are conspiculating whether or not she would kill him for the family fortune and the company or just revenge. Back to you, Jim."
The camera panned over to the male news reporter. He started to talk more about the investigation about our family. "Thanks, Karen. And, we are interviewing the youngest, Demon Yushi, right now. We are going to ask her about her family life and her older sister. Oh? Well, things have gone quicker than expected!
"We are tuning in to the interview with Demon Yushi. Charlie, over to you!"
"They're interviewing Demon? Wh-Why?" I asked, sitting closer to the TV and moving away from Alycia. "She didn't go through anything when we were little."
And the real life version of the picture turned into my sister. She was sitting in a room, looking beautiful, like always with her boyfriend, Aaron, sitting next her. She had a white sweater with a pair of black shorts that stopped midway at her thighs.
Aaron was wearing a normal white T-shirt and ripped black jeans instead of a suit and tie.
"So, how was your sister when you two were little? Was she nice to you?"
"Yes, of course she was," Demon said, smiling. She brushed some hair out of her face then continued. "She was the best sister in the world! We would have the normal sister fight every now and then, but life was pretty fun and normal for me when I was younger."
"Really? She never hit you or attacked you for anything?"
Wow, they're trying to make me sound horrible...
"Nope, never! Oneechan is the best person in the world. Our whole family agrees, and then some," Demon hugged Aaron's arm.
The reporter nods then looks at some papers in his hands, "Well, we have a police report from a little over a month ago. It was addressed that your sister attacked a man named Brent Byonna and sent him to jail for child abuse and violent overreactions.
"Does that not stand out to you?"
"That report was because a friend of hers was being harassed and he didn't even feel safe at his own home!" Demon sat up and glared at the reporter. She stood up and walked closer to the reporter, making the most terrifying glare no one's ever seen.
Her eyes turned red as her vampiric persona began to emerge, her brown hair began turning silver. She was looking more and more dangerous.
Demon was looking like she was going to kill someone.
"My sister only attacked Brent because Kai's life was threatened and she wasn't going to stand by and watch it happen! I know the kind of person she is *HICCUP* and I know she would n-never *HICCUP HICCUP* kill our Otosan!!"
"Demon," Aaron stood up and hugged Demon close to his chest. She had started to cry, as if saying otosan was too real for her. Like, saying it, made her realize that our dad was really dead. Aaron started to rub her back and comfort her, picking her up and walking away.
The camera and the reporter followed. Fucking weirdos...
"But, wait! The interview isn't over!" The reporter started.
Aaron whipped his head around and glared at him, making the camera guy shake the actual camera and take a step back.
"Yes, it is," Aaron said, turning back around and slamming the bedroom door closed. Alycia turned off the TV and stood up.
"Want to go get something to eat?" She asked, tossing the remote onto the couch and standing up. I shook my head.
Food is going to make me nauseous...
"I'm gonna go get dressed," I said, walking upstairs to my bedroom. I was confused.
Everything was turning grey and sad; my emotions didn't even show. I didn't even cry...
*******************
I sat on the couch, covered in blankets and tired. Alycia had left for school, promising to tell the teachers the reason I was gone.
There was a knock at the door, just as the movie had reached its midpoint.
"Hello?" I asked, peeping through the peephole. "What do you want?"
"It's just me," Kai muttered, stepping back. I nodded and undid the door locks, opening the door and looking up at Kai.
He smiled, sad yet sweet, and took a step towards me. Kai enveloped my small frame in his big arms and gave me a tight hug. "Are... are you okay, Angel?"
"Mmm," I mumbled. I couldn't even tell him. My feelings were shaken, and I couldn't even tell if I did feel anything. "You?"
"Not really," Kai muttered, resting his head on mine. He sighed and released me, looking into my eyes and smiling. "Want to cuddle on your couch?"
"Yeah," I nodded, smiling. "That sounds nice, Kai."
"Okay."
