Now, with all the hunters slaughtered I existed there in my province in a daze. I soon realized the massacre from outside my mother's quadrangle. It wasn't just me that was their target, it was the whole werewolf dynasty. Seeing that my father was now deceased, you could say it's a reasonable prospect for them to strike. There were carcasses, all over the territory. And all of them were headless.
I promptly diverted my eyes from the nightmare and hurriedly made haste back to my mother. Still transformed, I was able to locate her in a matter of minutes. Upon arriving at where the chaos all started, I specked my mother still knelt on the floor.
"Mother! Are you okay!" I shouted.
"Freidich! Thank god that you're safe!" my mother said as my form slowly retracted when I collapsed in her wide-opened arms.
Though she asserted this to me, somewhere in her compassion she never wanted to ratify the validity of the blood I had spilled on this eventful day.
After hugging for a few seconds my mother smacked both my cheeks and said," Now we have to go!"
"But mother! What of our people who've been slaughtered!" replied with eyes that sparked a feeling of remorse.
"Listen to me! Right now your safety comes first! We can always come back for you to rule the throne! But that can't happen if you're kidnapped and killed!" My mother replied with a hidden emotion that exhibited hesitation.
Now, finally empathetic to why my mom was in such a rush I took hold of her hands as she ran, pulling me from behind. We made it back to her courtyard and went inside to amass the most useful and valuable items. We packed around four bags, two bags each.
My mother then picked up a resemblance, a resemblance of my family that we had taken when I was younger. I stood silently, bearing witness of her sorrow. I suddenly felt the urge to soothe her before striding towards her from behind and hugged her by the midriff.
I mean that's just how short I am man. What can I say?
She then twirled around and patted my head, "I know you're trying to solace me son and I'm thankful...but now we just have to put this disaster behind and us and maintain our elevation forwards."
Her words, carved their way into my intellect, lighting yet again another spark inside me. Unbeknownst to myself, there was a power slowly but surely developing further from within.
She hurriedly unlocks this antique type-safe then filled it with mana. Appeared from within was a mummified book. It looked as if it hasn't been utilized for decades. She placed it on a desk closest to our luggage and proceeded to scroll through the pages. Her facial expression kept altering from anxious to disappointed.
Suddenly, she yelps in shock, " Yes, here it is!"
I gazed at her in confusion before asserting, "Here's what?"
"The spell that will get us out of this continent, " she assured me.
"You mean to tell me there are more continents out there!" I exclaimed in excitement.
"Of course Frei, now I'll commence with the preparations, " she responded.
Frei? Since when! You know what let's just leave it at that I thought.
My mother accordingly, rehearses the phrase from the page she was glaring at.
"Filis, von sheis necromon, belies zuun ga!" we're what she supposedly declared before slitting her index finger and releasing a droplet of blood onto the paper.
I stood there in a trance. What in the world did she just say? Wait, maybe this is just some language I'm not entirely customary with. Yeah, that's right! That got to be it! I exclaimed to myself in reassurance.
*WHOOSH*
A dimensional crack appeared in the compartment which we were in. An oval-shaped space opened and in the center was a spiraling purple void.
"Frei! Get your bags and let's hurry!" my mother's voice pulled me out of my dazed state.
"Ahh, yes mother I'm ready," I said as I picked up my luggage.
"Hold on tight!" she replied as she grasped my forearm and we entered the purple void.
*Minutes after Freidich's departure*
A middle-aged man along with a crew consisting of thirty-six hunters appeared in the abandoned courtyard. He had quite the domineering physique. Standing around 200 cm (6-feet 7-inches) with long black dazzling hair equipped with a fine yet ridged face.
He leads the crew inside the courtyard but to his horror, it was a slaughterhouse. His fellow hunters were either beheaded or savagely ripped to pieces, to the point where they all had a missing organ. Their bodies had claw scratches around their necks, back, and torsos.
"What in the world happened! All twenty-four hunters sent here are massacred! Who is responsible!" the man shouted at his crew while veins were now visible on his forehead.
"Were not sure sire...but the boy and his mother resided here!" the second hunter in command answered.
"You! Do you mean to inform me that a mere child and his mother did all this! Take a fucking good look at the situation here!" the man was now in an even more blood-raging infuriated state.
"S-sorry your honor! But please forgive my stupidity! The second in command pleaded for his life. Whilst all the other hunters stood there bowing they're in disappointment with either of their hands plastered behind their backs.
"I can't believe that damned brat escaped! He's now nowhere to be found! Not a single surviving witness! Where they could have gone!? Ohh fuck me!" the man raged before he marched his crew from the courtyard with their tail between their legs.
