Chapter 211 - CHAPTER TWO HUNDRED AND TEN

"Do you really think Clyde would hurt Jess?" I pounce on Jer as we entered the massive bedroom, Logan and I shared.

Jer led me to the sofa situated at a corner of the bedroom, "yeah," he admitted, "I sensed it in her voice." Jer explained. "Jess always sounds self-assured but earlier she sounded nervous and afraid." Frowning, Jer sits opposite me, "I can't explain it but I know something is off, plus the guy we knew Clyde to be when we were younger is not the same guy he is today." Jer reminds me.

"I will not agree to Logan going in to rescue her so there's only one other alternative," screwing up my face, I wait for him to react but folding his arms, Jer sat back in his chair to stare at me suspiciously.

Nodding, "I'm listening," shrugging, he waits for me to continue, still staring suspiciously.

"Judge Delaney," was all I needed to say, watching Jer's eyes widen in surprise at my suggestion or what he doesn't know, is that I've already made up my mind to put Jessica Scott into the hands of Social Services and the court.

"Do you think that's wise?" Leaning forward Jer asks. "I mean you could be exposing Gray and the entire family," my brother was quick to remind me about protecting his brother-in-law and the family.

Smiling at his respect and commitment to the family, "she already knows," I assured him gently. "Logan never lied about who he is and the family he came from," I admitted, although I'm unsure if Logan has done anything to bring attention to himself and his family, from the legal forces.

Jer didn't hide his surprise at my confession.

Curling his lips with a rueful smile, "I didn't know," Jer admits, shaking his head, "but let's get Jess out," Jer encourages me, smiling I point to the vanity.

"Hand me my phone please, it's charging over there." Taking a deep breath as Jer leaves to retrieve the phone for me, confident that this is the only way to help Jess and keep Logan and his uncle from starting world war three.

"Thank you," I took the phone and immediately dialed the judge's number checking the time to make sure it's still early enough.

"Jamie!" Judge Delany answers on the third ring.

"Good evening, ma'am" I greeted the the judge, feeling my self confidence starts slipping away, by the seconds. "I'm sorry to disturb you this late" I apologized, chuckling as Judge Delany cut my apologies.

"No, of course not." Judge Delany dismisses my apology. "If it wasn't important, you won't be calling me." She chuckles lightly. "I just hope it isn't bad and that I can help you." She added.

Taking a deep breath, I quickly explain the purpose of the call and what Jer and I suspect adding that the person Jess is involved with, is actually the mastermind behind the shooting incident.

Judge Delany listened quietly as I spoke without a single interruption.

All serious and to the point, "is that all the information, you have to work with?" She enquires politely.

Confirming, what I know and Clyde Daniel's hangouts, I ended my call to Judge Delany, covering my face, unable to believe I did this, with the possibility of getting Jess safely out of the clutches of Clyde Daniels.

Standing up, Jer leans down and pecks my cheek, "I hope we don't push her further away with this move," he whispers against my cheek.

Secretly hoping he's right, I shook my head. "It will be okay, everything will be okay." I smiled, convincing myself and my brother that we're doing the right thing for Jess.

"Jer" I called softly as he reached the door, "I will not allow her to come here and live with us." Lifting my eyes, no smiles, just focused.

Nodding, "I didn't think you would," Jer admitted, "but like you said, it will be okay." With a light wave, Jer exited room, leaving me to ponder on my other problem.

What would be Logan's reaction to my decision?

Since Logan stayed downstairs longer than I anticipated, I hobble slowly to the for a change of clothes closet and then the shower.

I was already in bed searching the security cameras on the laptop to find my husband's whereabouts but he was nowhere to be seen, nor was Justin and Cam.

I zoomed in at the camera's outside the house Logan's grandfather was staying at, only to see Bob and another security chatting as they laughed and smoked.

Huffing, I was about to shut the system down, when I saw dad exiting his father's prison.

Curling my lips as I frowned, watching Logan followed his father out, smiling as he flicks Bob behind the head as he passes him.

I watched Logan and his father, with head bowed, chat on their way to the house.

That's my cue.

I quickly logged out of the security system and opened up the pages where I am doing a memoir, in case I don't make it out of the deliver or back surgery alive.

"I figured you'd up asleep already," I heard Logan say as he walked into our bedroom, shutting the door behind him.

"Do you mind, that I was waiting for you?" I frowned then smirk at his soft chuckle.

As is Logan's norm. he starts undressing as he approaches me, with a goofy grin, "nah, I love seeing those gorgeous grays smiling at me before I go to bed," leaning in, he starts kissing my breast, my neck my cheeks and finally my lips.

It was only when my eyes fluttered open that I remember, I didn't mention my call to Judge Delany concerning Jess being in Clyde's care.

"You okay?" I turned my head to see Logan standing with a towel wrapped on his hip while drying his hair, staring at me curiously.

Nodding, I simply smiled.

Would Logan be upset with me for Judge Delaney involvement?
