"It's my business and I don't need any help from you or, YOUR PEOPLE!" Logan stressed, as he continued to speak angrily into the phone.
Pulling his hand out of his pocket, clenching his fist, "how did you find out she left?" Logan asked turning around to face me, as he listen to the caller. "I see" he nods, "out of everyone Jamie knows, that's who she calls, her treacherous sister?" he said his lips twisted in anger.
Why is he so angry when I'm here, with him.
Frowning, I slowly stood up, but before I could make a step towards him, Logan was already at my side, shaking his head.
"You heed my warning, stay the f**k away from my wife and stay the f**k away from my unborn child. I will find her and I'm sure she already regrets calling her sister" Logan finishes before cutting the call.
Wrapping his arm around me, "let's go inside" Logan suggests and moves to lift me, but I stepped backwards.
Lifting my head to stare him in the eye, "who was that?" I asked, even though I already knew.
Matching my gaze, "my grandfather" he responded softly, with a challenging smirk guessing that I already knew.
Lowering my eyes, I look at my feet that's clad in my comfortable sandal, saddened by the fact that Jessica betrayed me again.
Hugging me tighter, "I'm sorry, that she betrayed you again, but at least for now, I know they are on the hunt for you, so dad and I can make our moves on them." Logan said, pleased that he has found a way to get an upper hand on his grandfather.
Despite my protests, Logan lifted me bridal style once again, making quick strides towards the cabin in complete silence.
Passing the front entrance, Logan continue to the side of the building, rounding the corner to use the back entrance that leads to our bedroom.
Logan continued in silence, until we reached our room.
"I didn't think you could pull it off," he says proudly, putting me on the bed. Looking towards the bedroom door, "stay here, I need to communicate with Jerome, because I'm sure his sister would have called him, to confirm that you really left." Logan says looking back to me.
Standing up, he kisses me on the head, before leaving in search of Jer, after securing the back door.
Staring at the bathroom door longingly, but to drained to make a move towards it.
Feeling stupid for allowing myself to believe that Jess could be trusted.
I wanted so badly to believe that finally we may have a chance, but she proved me wrong, once again.
Her mother really did a number on her, brainwashing her into hating me for what? For my property? For my happiness? Like my mother, am I not allowed to be live peaceably? Why did her mother hate mines?
All these questions and no way of finding an answer!
Making up my mind, I will meet grandfather Phillip and get the documents of ownership for this property, so that we could start building the two houses mom wants and see what else the property holds.
Frowning, I now stare at the door wishing mom or Logan would come through because I'm so hungry and my back is hurting.
Instead, I chose to slide further up the bed and decided to close my eyes for a few seconds.
I woke up to see the bathroom door wide open with the light illuminating into the bedroom, but the outside's in complete darkness.
Hearing my tummy rumble, I slid off the bed, looking around and listening for any sound or movement on the outside.
As I shifted to slide off the bed, I felt my phone in my pocket and smiling happily, I took it out and dialed Logan's number, but it went straight to voicemail. After making one more call to his number I called Jer, who thankfully answered on the second ring, as he if was expecting me to call.
"Jamie, finally!" Jer says, so I guess he was waiting for me, which means my husband is not around.
"Where's Logan?" I got straight to the point.
"He went out but didn't say where. He didn't want to wake you so, I coming down to see you." Jer informs me and I know that Logan is doing something dangerous, something that I will not like but I also know that it's something that needs to be done.
"I'm hungry" I responded, because I need to use the bathroom and I am actually starving.
Chucking as I hear loud stomps, figuring that he is running down the stairs. "Yeah, I figured as much." Jer says before hanging up.
With my eyes glued to the door, I wait for my brother to come in and help me to the bathroom. I don't know why, but I feel lifeless or lacking energy since I spoke to Jess.
Jess!
Without knocking, my bedroom door open and Jer came in followed by Gwen with her face still very heavily bruised.
Frowning at her my lips curling as if I'm experiencing her pain, "don't worry, it looks worst than it actually feels." Gwen laughs, moving past Jer and coming towards me.
Smiling she comes to sit beside me on the bed, "do you want me to bring you dinner or do you want to have it in the kitchen." Jer asks and I reluctantly turned my eyes off Gwen's bruises to Jer.
Staring at the bathroom door, "can you help me to the shower and then we can have dinner in the kitchen?" I asked hopefully, even though I'm sure Jer won't refuse me.
Nodding, Jer approaches me and I lift my hands for him to lift me.
Looking down, "I don't know why, but I feel so tired or weak or something. It's like when I was done speaking to Jess, I got drained." I explained to Jer, as he put me to stand in the bathroom.
