LEAH'S POV
Again the drive to Logan's office was in silence but not as comfortable as earlier because of the blonde woman sitting behind my seat sulking.
She works for Logan, that much I gathered, so maybe she's the secretary.
When we got to Logan's office at a prestigious law firm, realizing that Logan is a partner from the name on the building. Garrett/Lloyd/ Sinclair/Daniels.
I have reread the contract many times, I hope there are no loop holes that will hold me hostage to their company.
We all stepped out of the vehicle at the same time, "Let Mandy know I'll be there in a few minutes, to meet me in my office." Logan instructed the nameless blonde.
"Yes, Logan" she smiles answering him, while looking at me with hostility.
Logan took me to a coffee shop opposite his office building that was fairly busy.
"What would you like" Logan asks me.
No longer wanting to be dependent on Logan after all that he has done, "why don't you have a seat, I'll get it" I offered hoping he'll agree.
Nodding he gives me his order, after refusing his money, I went up to the counter placing our order, paying for the coffee and the pastries I simply couldn't resist .
I collected our order placing it on a disposable tray, "are you having your coffee here or at your office?"
Pondering for a second, "the office" he answered, as he got up leading me out the door.
"Logie" I heard someone shout.
M eyes instinctively followed the sound of the voice, to see a large man, in his late twenties running across the street to Logan.
With a gorgeous smile, Logan greeted the guy with a bro hug."Hey man" Logan chuckles.
Panting for breath, as Logan chuckles, "I was just in your office and Mandy's apprentice said you're in the building, but you being in the building to me, means you're over the road. Never let her know that" the man informs Logan chuckling.
"Apprentice?" Logan repeated vaguely.
Looking at Logan weirdly, "uh huh, that's who she said she is" the bulky man says to Logan, who still bore a confused look on his face.
Sensing Logan's confusion, "busty blonde! Over tight clothes! Ring a bell?" bulky man chuckles as Logan's eyes widen in realization.
"No f***ing way" Logan mutters, shaking his head annoyed. Pulling out his phone dialing a number.
After a few seconds,
"Mandy, what the f**k is that under dressed woman doing in my office and why the f**k did you send her to the courthouse? I don't even know her f***ing name" he said clearly pissed off.
"Right!" Is my office locked?" he asks a bit more softer.
"Then what the hell is she doing there?" he asks.
"Call and inform security to lock your office and make sure to search her for any files or anything work related and I'll text you a number to call for a hearing at the Family Court tomorrow."
"Yes, take care of him, I'll see you tomorrow, bye" he said hanging up.
"Thank you, Justin" the bulky man says patting his own back.
"Thank you Justin" Logan says, patting him on his back halfheartedly.
"We can go to the office at the fashion house, or you can sign the contract over coffee," showing me the cafe we stood in front of, "right here" he suggested.
Choosing the cafe, because I need to seal this deal immediately.
Nodding, in agreement
"I'm Justin and you must be Leah, the photographer whose being giving my cousin here some sleepless nights" Justin puts a hand out for me to shake.
Shaking the hand of a bulky man whose grip was not as strong as shaking Logan's hand the first time we met, uncomfortable with what he just said
Leading the way back into the cafe, Justin also following us, "I'm not staying on the sidewalk on my own" he explains.
I went to a four seated table at the corner of the cafe, putting the tray down, taking my coffee and pastry out, pushing the other coffee towards Logan, which Justin quickly confiscated.
Logan went to the counter to order for himself leaving Justin and I alone.
I immediately took out the envelope with the contract.
"He's going to find a way to block you from using the photos of his short modeling career" Justin warns me, mischievously.
Smiling, "oh, I'm using it and he can't stop me" I said confidentiality.
Justin starts chuckling rather loudly. I looked instantly to Logan who stood at the counter with an irritated look on his masculine features as he stares at us.
Averting my eyes to the documents in front of me, I took out a pen and signed, secretly thanking God for this opportunity.
Justin raised his eyebrows observing with a smirk.
"So it looks like it's official, you're part of the Francis's family" he said sipping his coffee.
"By the way, that apple pie was the bomb and so was the bar-q-que. You're our official chef at the next fourth of July" he focuses on my face in deep thoughts.
Frowning, why would I join them for family holidays?
Logan returns to the table with coffee and a plate full of pastries.
"What did I miss" he asks lifting his coffee to his lips, while I kept my eyes on his movements, mentally slapping myself, as I looked at his lips.
Pushing the contract closer to Logan, "this" Justin said, watching Logan's face for a reaction.
Reading the top, Logan turns to me, "you satisfied?" he asks.
'I signed, didn't I?" I responded, hearing Justin snickering.
"Yes, yes you did" he said watching me over the top of his coffee cup while sipping the hot liquid.
Taking out a note pad from his jacket pocket, pulling a pencil out of it, as detectives do.
Pushing the coffee away, he puts it on the table, opened it, before lifting his eyes to meet mines.
When was your first visit to the Family Court?" Logan started asking questions regarding my guardianship of Jerome and Jessica.
After more than and hour, confident that he had enough to present to the court of my accomplishments in the past eleven months, my new permanent job which will help build my case.
