Once they left the dirty house of the obese man the girl sat there quietly on his back as he asked "So where do you wanna go?" After not getting a response for some time he sighed and said "I'll take that as an I don't know so I don't feel ignored."
As they walked out of the alleyway the man said "Maybe we should get you a change of clothes first and then we can get you something to eat." The girl began to glance around nervously thinking "I'm sure he'll abandon me, it's only a matter of time."
The man began to walk towards a store as he said "I have an idea, why don't we tell each other our names, I'll go first." The man smiled and said, "I'm Silver, nice to meet ya."
The girl stared at him for a moment before whispering "I don't have one." Silver entered the store and said, "That could be a bit of trouble, well I should at least think of something to call you."
Silver walked towards the counter and said "Let's see what should I call you, you have blonde yellowish hair so maybe, Honey or something?" Silver glanced at her for a moment and then said "What about Amber?"
She sat there and quietly whispered, "You can call me whatever you want, you'll probably just leave me in a ditch somewhere anyway." As they arrived at the counter silver shook his head and said "I wouldn't do that to someone who didn't deserve it."
She stared at him and said, "Then you're exactly like them, if I don't do as you say you're just going to toss me aside and say I deserved it." As a lady walked behind the counter she stared at Silver nervously and asked "What can I help you with?"
Silver stared at her nervously and said "It would be helpful if you could find her something that fits." The lady stared at Amber and said "You mean the child your carrying right?" Silver nodded and said, "Yeah, I just picked her up from a really bad place and am kinda in a hurry so I'd appreciate it if you could do this quickly."
The lady reached under the counter and said "We got something in a few hours ago, it should be about her size." As she set a frilly dress onto the counter with a ribbon Silver stared at it and asked "So how much is it?" The lady lifted it and said, "It costs around eighty dollars, it's not exactly cheap but it is high quality."
Amber stared at the dress in amazement as she thought to herself "It's such a pretty dress, but he'll probably work me extra hard if I accept something so nice." Silver glanced at her and asked, "So do you want it?" Amber quickly averted her gaze and said "No thanks, I'll continue to wear this."
Silver stared at the lady while handing her the money and saying "We'll take it." Amber stared at him and whispered, "I don't need it." Silver smiled and said, "Yeah I know, but I bet it'll look really cute on you." Amber glanced at the dress once again as Silver said "Besides if your gonna go around with me today I'm sure you don't wanna be in those torn clothes."
The lady put the clothes in a bag and handed it to Silver as she said "If you'd like to get her changed here we have a changing room near the back." Silver nodded and said, "Yeah that'd be helpful."
As they walked into the changing room Silver set her down and handed her the bag as he said "Go on in and get changed." Amber clutched the bag nervously and nodded as she whispered "Okay." Once she entered Silver leaned against a wall and said "Getting to my target while doing this is gonna be pretty difficult."
Silver smiled and said, "Well I guess I'll just have to find the time to do both." Silver glanced at the door and said "She should be done pretty soon, so maybe I should get her something to eat next?" Silver looked around and said, "I probably shouldn't drop my guard now that I think about it."
As the door to the changing room creaked open Amber peeked out and nervously said "P-please don't be mad but, I-I can't figure out how to do the ribbon." Silver stared at her and asked, "Why would I get mad over ribbon?" Silver walked towards her and said, "Hand me the ribbon, I'll tie it."
Amber handed him the ribbon nervously and whispered "Here you go." Silver took the ribbon and knelt down to tie it on her as he said "Hold still a minute, I've never tied one either so your gonna have to bear with me." Once he finished firing the ribbon he stood up and said "Sorry if it's a bit sloppy, like I said I haven't done this before."
Amber looked down at herself admiring the dress as she whispered "Thank you." Silver picked her up and said, "Yeah sure, now let's go get you something to eat." Amber stared at him and nervously said "You don't have to." Silver glanced at her and said, "Your right, I don't have to but I want to, so it's fine if I get you something right?"
Silver put Amber on his back as her stomach began to growl as she said "I'm fine." Silver glanced at her and said, "Your clearly hungry, your not fine at all, just tell me if you want something." Amber sat there against his back once again as she whispered "I'm fine, I don't need to eat."
Silver walked out of the building and towards a fast food restaurant as he said "I'm not gonna accept that as an answer, so I'm gonna make sure you get something good to eat." Amber stared at him and thought to herself "Is planning to feed me once now so he won't have to for the rest of the week?"
As they entered the fast food place and walked up to the counter Silver glanced at Amber and asked "So is there anything you want?" Amber sat there quietly while staring at the menu saying nothing as Silver glanced at where she was looking and said "She'll take a kids meal with a toy." The man behind the counter pushed a few buttons in and asked "Is that all?"
Silver nodded and said, "Yeah, that's everything for now." Amber stared at him nervously and whispered "You didn't need to get me that." As a trey was set down in front of him he picked it up with one hand while still carrying Amber as he smiled and said "I know, but I saw you staring at it so I figured you really wanted it."
Amber looked away and said, "I'm sorry, won't want anything again, please don't abandon me." Silver set her down on a seat and said "Don't worry I won't, besides it'll be easier to talk to you if you just tell me what you want." Amber sat there nervously with the food in front of her as Silver asked "Why are you just sitting there, shouldn't you eat?"
Amber nodded and began to eat as she thought to herself "What can he be planning, is he trying to make me look more presentable so he can sell me off at a higher price?" Silver sat there smiling at her as he asked "So how is it?" Amber glanced at the food as she nervously said without thinking "It's good."
Silver smiled and said, "Well that's good because we'll probably be eating food similar to this every day." Amber stared at him and said, "You don't have to worry about me, I'm fine without eating." Silver stared at her and said, "Don't be ridiculous, if you don't eat how will you grow up to be big healthy?"
Amber stared at him and said, "I don't need to be big or healthy, so please don't mind me." Silver stared at her and said, "That's a strange way to think, wouldn't you wanna be both big and healthy so you can live as long as possible?" Amber shook her head and said, "No, neither of those things are needed so don't worry."
Silver stared at her and said, "Look I'm not gonna abandon you, so throw that thought away and stop worrying." Amber nodded and said, "Okay, I'll do my best." Silver glanced at her toy and said "I plan to give you all the luxuries of a normal kid." Amber followed his eyes and stared at the toy as she asked "Is that really alright?" Silver nodded and said, "Of course."
Amber reached for the toy and opened it as she said "I've never had any toys before." Once it was opened it revealed a small toy bear that Amber took an almost immediate liking to as she smiled and said "It's so soft."
Silver smiled and said, "That's the first time I've seen you smile." Amber stared at him and said, "If you don't like it I can stop." Silver smiled and said "Of course not it's fine, it's actually really nice"
