As Silver and Amber arrived at the daycare Silver carried her in through the door and said "This looks like the place." After standing around the entrance a lady approached them and asked "Are you the two that Jax mentioned over the phone?" Silver glanced at Amber and said, "Ya that's us."
The lady smiled and said, "I'm surprised Jax knew anyone who has kids." Silver stared at her and said, "Well I didn't expect to have any either." The lady stared at him and asked in a concerned voice "Was she an accident?" Silver stared at her and said, "Well sort of, I mean she wasn't exactly planned."
The lady pulled his head over towards her and whispered "If you didn't mean to have her maybe you shouldn't say it out loud." Silver pulled his head away and said "Wait I didn't mean it like that, I meant that I picked her up off the streets out of the blue." The lady stared at Amber and said "Oh well then everything is perfectly fine."
The lady walked over to a desk and said "You can sign her up here, and don't worry about the legal documents, Jax already told me you don't have them." Silver set Amber down beside him and said "Well that's a relief." The lady reached under the counter and set some papers out in front of him as she said "Read over these and sign, if you have any questions I'd be happy to answer them."
Silver flipped through the papers and signed it as he said "Jax already gave me the rundown on this earlier, so I'll just go ahead and sign it." The lady stared at him and said "You sure have a lot of faith in my husband." Silver put a hand on the back of his head and asked "Do you really think so?"
The lady nodded and said, "I'm sure he'd take any chance he got to make a quick buck off of anyone he could." Silver pushed the papers towards her and said "Yeah that sounds just like him." She stared at him confused and asked "Then why are you taking what he said at face value?"
Silver smiled and said, "Well we've been working together for a few years, I'm actually one of his main workers." The lady leaned onto the counter and said "Now I get it, he wants you to drop the kid off with me so he can use you to make more money."
She glanced through the papers and said "Well I'm sure you're used to it by now." As she handed him another paper she said "The daycare will be open around those times, you can drop her off in the morning and pick her up later if you'd like." Silver stared at the paper for a few moments and said "It's open on weekdays but not weekends."
She stared at him and said, "Did he not tell you that?" Silver glanced at the corner of the paper which had a female name on it that he had assumed was her name as he said "No he didn't, Emma?" As she stared at him and said "Don't say my name like your unsure of it." Silver stared at her and said, "Sorry he never mentioned your name so I assumed it was and decided to test it."
Emma glanced at Amber who had been standing there silently the whole time as she said "If you'd like you can go down the hall and take the first door on your right, other kids should be there I'm sure they'll give you a warm welcome." Amber stared down the hallway not making a single move as she said "I don't want to."
Silver stared at her and asked, "Why not?" Amber glanced at him and pulled on his sleeve signaling for him to come closer with her other hand. As he bent down to her level she pulled his head closer and whispered "Will you come back?" Silver stared at her and smiled awkwardly as he said "I already told you I'm not gonna just up and leave for good, I'll be back."
As Silver stood back up he stared at her and smiled as he said "Go on in and play with the other kids." Amber stared at him nervously and said "Okay but, can you promise me you won't leave me." Silver stared at her and said, "Sure I don't see any problems with a simple promise."
Amber stuck her pinky out and said "I've heard that this is how it's normally done." Silver latched his pinky around hers and said "So it's a pinky swear then, in that case, I pinky swear to never leave you for good." Amber smiled worryingly as she said, "Even though I've been lied to before I think I can trust what you say."
As Amber walked down the hall and into the room Emma said "It looks like you two get along really well." Silver glanced at her and asked, "Does it really look that way?" Emma nodded and looked at the paper he had just signed as she said "Silver and Amber, she'll be coming here often right?" Silver nodded and said, "Unfortunately ya, I wish I had more time on my hands but I don't."
Emma set the papers down and said "You can leave now if you'd like, unless you were just viewing today and didn't plan to drop her off right now." Silver reached into his shirt and pulled out a piece of paper as he said "Yeah, I'll leave her here, for now, I'll be back soon." Emma stared at the paper and asked "Is that what my husband is having you do?"
Silver nodded and said, "Yeah some guy dropped it off and asked for me to do it." Emma stared at him and said, "Well I won't delay you any longer, I'll see you later then." As Silver began to walk towards the door he felt a gaze coming from behind him. As he turned around he saw Amber peering out from the door staring at him.
Silver stared at her and smiled as he said "I already told you you don't have to worry, I'll be back as soon as I can." Amber walked out from the door and stood in the center of the hall nervously as she prepared herself for what was next with her hands close to her chest.
As she lowered her hands she took a deep breath and shouted "Remember to come pick me up when you're done!" After shouting this her face turned a bloody red color as she covered her face with her hands and ran back into the room." Emma stared there and watched as Silver stood there as she said "Looks like you have to come back now."
Silver stared at her and said, "I wasn't planning on leaving her in the first place so what do you mean now I have to come back?" Emma turned away and said nothing as Silver glanced at the paper in his hand and stuffed it back into his shirt. As Silver left Emma glanced at the door and smiled as she said "These two look like they could be interesting to watch."
As Amber looked around the room at the other kids who paid her no attention she nervously walks towards a corner with books and sat down by them. After sitting there for a few moments she took one of the books off the shelf and began to read it. After casually reading for a few minutes some of the other kids began to notice her and began to surround her.
As she looked up from the book she saw that all the kids were now surrounding her. Amber looked at them all nervously without saying a word. After sitting there awkwardly for a few moments one of the kids broke the silence and asked "Are you new here?" Amber looked around frantically as if she was looking for something to say before just nodding without saying a word.
The kid was a boy who looked to be about Amber's age. The boy stared at the book and asked "how come you're not reading a picture book?" Amber stared at the boy nervously as she covered her mouth with the book and said "The title sounded interesting." The boy glanced at the title of the book and said "This doesn't seem like something is kids would be able to understand."
As Emma walked back into the room and said "May I have your attention for a moment" all of the kids stared at her as she said, "We have another member at the daycare, I'd like to introduce everyone to Amber and I would appreciate it if you made her feel at home." Amber stared at the cover of the book and quietly said "But this feels different from home, it feels much nicer and I'm not getting hurt if I freeze up and can't talk." Amber stared at Emma as Emma asked her "Is there anything you'd like to say?" Amber quickly stood up and said, "P-please treat me nice."
